J. Conkey's Book Review 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The book Fever 1793 was about a girl who is sick and everybody else is sick as and she needs to help everybody. The girls name is Matilda, Father and Mother. Matilda is facing the fever to protect the citizens of 1793. This book took place in 1793.

The book 1793 is very recommended to everyone because it has lots of action and it shows passion. We learned that it takes that it takes pride and honor to help other people.

Editorial Review:

During the summer of 1793, Mattie Cook lives above the family coffee shop with her widowed mother and grandfather. Mattie spends her days avoiding chores and making plans to turn the family business into the finest Philadelphia has ever seen. But then the fever breaks out.

Disease sweeps the streets, destroying everything in its path and turning Mattie's world upside down. At her feverish mother's insistence, Mattie flees the city with her grandfather. But she soon discovers that the sickness is everywhere, and Mattie must learn quickly how to survive in a city turned frantic with disease.

the potty train is a winner 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

our two year old daughter loves the potty train. she was showing all the signs of being ready for the potty but this was the book that turned theory into practice. she loves to sit on her potty with the book in her lap and a big "choo choo" as things started to happen. a wonderful book, very engaging for small children. our six year old even liked it, especially the last page (and i aint going to spoil the surprise for you). i would highly recommend this book for anyone with a child ready to take the next step in life's great adventure.

A Great Baby Gift 5 out of 5 stars.

This wonderfully engaging book has become my standard gift for my friends' new born grandchildren. Everyone who has been fortunate enough to receive it has loved it. A pediatrician friend of mine doesn't want to rush her little one's life along, but knows that when it's time it will be the first one to be read to her.
This charming story of potty training gives kids permission to try it without guilt. The pictures and colors bring the story to life. You'll love it!

There is something captivating about this book! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My nine month old absolutely LOVES this book! It's the craziest thing; he literally squeals with excitement when I read it to him and tries to turn the pages in anticipation of what's next. I end up reading it over and over (which is not difficult since the whole thing has about ten words) because he gets very upset when it ends. Yes, it is utterly simplistic, but it is also surprisingly captivating for little ones. To those who criticize: I am sure this book is meant for those with very short attention spans and little knowledge of the English language. It's a BABY book!

Editorial Review:

Oops! Did somebody make a mess?! Join David as he finds himself in a few sticky situations, and learn his five favorite words along the way. From throwing a ball to riding a tricycle to taking a bath, David sometimes has a little too much fun. But he knows there's nothing better than cuddling with Mama at the end of a busy and exciting day. With the same irresistible humor and vibrant style as his award-winning No, David! books, David Shannon takes us back to the "early years" of his most beloved character. Perfect for beginning readers as well as for the youngest children!

Cute book for toddlers 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My son is two years old, and he absolutely loves this book! When I ask him to chose a book to read, this one is always in the running. The title of the book "Where's the Poop" is not a phrase that is used throughout the book (as it would seem) But it is implied that parents can/should use the phrase when reading with their child. This book is definitely useful for potty training. In fact, so helpful that now my child is extremely curious when our cat goes to the bathroom in the liter box, or the dog going to the bathroom in the yard. It was almost like a light bulb went off, and my son realized that every living thing has a proper place for poop. Potty training is going very well, by the way. I highly recommend this book for children who are curious by nature. It definitely helped a lot with my son.

Editorial Review:

This engaging lift-the-flap book shows children that all creatures have a place to poop: tigers in the jungle, kangaroos in the outback, and monkeys in the rain forest.

With the aid of this playful book, your child will see that he or she has a place to poop, too. While reinforcing the concept of toilet training, Where's the Poop? gives children the confidence they need. This engaging lift-the-flap book shows children that all creatures have a place to poop: tigers in the jungle, kangaroos in the outback, and monkeys in the rain forest.

Yet another useless item to throw in the "Dora" pile... 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I, along with many other parents of Dora lovers feel almost obligated to buy anything and everything Dora. It's what drove me to buy this book, and since my daughter is semi-interested in the potty, I thought, "why not?". Yes, the book is cute, it makes sounds (oooh!) and of course my daughter loves it. Please note that there isn't actually a picture of Dora on the potty, just a "before" and "after", which is not very educational. Just don't be fooled into thinking that this book is actually going to aide you in the draining process of potty training. When your child is ready, they're ready, and when they're not, well... they're not, and no book is going to make them ready. Not worth it, in my opinion.

We love Dora! 5 out of 5 stars.

My daughter (22 months) loves this book and I'm sure it will be a big help when we actually start training.

Editorial Review:

Dora shares one of her very first big adventures -- going to the potty!

By pressing the button, toddlers will become familiar with the toilet's flushing sound. This is a perfect tool to help little explorers feel comfortable and confident about using the potty!

Good basic book in very simple language 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

It is important to remember with any book you purchase regarding Aspergers and Autism that people on the Autism spectrum are not "cookie-cutter-cases". Each person is an individual and no book will cover ALL aspects. This book is written in a childs voice and is very easy to understand. Are you going to walk away from reading it profoundly enlightened? No. Are you going to have a more simplistic understanding of the day to day situations and life of a child with Asp? Yes. I purchased this book for my son's grandparents, his older brother and for him. It gives him a voice and something to relate too (not on all issues, but most). The book is extremely easy to read and fast. I read through the entire book in under an hour while helping my son with his homework. A great addition to your personal and lending library.

Editorial Review:

Meet Adam - a young boy with AS. Adam invites young readers to learn about AS from his perspective. In this book, Adam helps children understand the difficulties faced by a child with AS; he tells them what AS is, what it feels like to have AS and how they can help children with AS by understanding their differences and appreciating their many talents. This book is ideally suited for boys and girls between 7 and 15 years old and also serves as an excellent starting point for family and classroom discussions.

We started reading it every day 2 weeks before her first dentist appointment. Great book! Worked like a charm!

Dora has it down! 5 out of 5 stars.

It's a good idea to start early so when that time comes to go the the dentist, your toddler will be willing to sit there just long enough to complete the checkup. Dora rocks when it comes to getting kids to do things like say words, jump up and down, whatever. A must have.

must have for kids who dont do well at dentist office 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

my son never let the dentist perform the full cleaning until after we read this book together. kids who like dora will most likely respond well on their next dental visit when they see dora acting like a big girl and letting the dentist examine and clean her teeth. i convinced my son that the dentist will make his teeth white and shiny like dora's - he fell for it like a champ! thanks Dora!! :-)

Good book, easily destroyed 3 out of 5 stars.

The concept is great, anything to help us brush the little ones teeth. For some reason I thought this was one of the books with thick pages that can stand up to the kids. It is not. Has thin pages that are destroyed in no time.

Editorial Review:

It's time for Dora's checkup at the dentist. Dora explores the dentist's office, gets her teeth cleaned, and more! She even gets a special treat for being such a good patient!

Editorial Review:

From the expert team behind IT'S PERFECTLY NORMAL and IT'S SO AMAZING! comes a book for younger children about their bodies — a resource that parents, teachers, librarians, health care providers, and clergy can use with ease and confidence.

Young children are curious about almost everything, especially their bodies. And young children are not afraid to ask questions. What makes me a girl? What makes me a boy? Why are some parts of girls' and boys' bodies the same and why are some parts different? How was I made? Where do babies come from? Is it true that a stork brings babies to mommies and daddies?

IT'S NOT THE STORK! helps answer these endless and perfectly normal questions that preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary school children ask about how they began. Through lively, comfortable language and sensitive, engaging artwork, Robie H. Harris and Michael Emberley address readers in a reassuring way, mindful of a child's healthy desire for straightforward information. Two irresistible cartoon characters, a curious bird and a squeamish bee, provide comic relief and give voice to the full range of emotions and reactions children may experience while learning about their amazing bodies. Vetted and approved by science, health, and child development experts, the information is up-to-date, age-appropriate, and scientifically accurate, and always aimed at helping kids feel proud, knowledgeable, and comfortable about their own bodies, about how they were born, and about the family they are part of.

Where's My Stuff? 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The moment I put this book down, I wished that I had found it befor emy Senior year. "Where's My Stuff?" contains nearly every little bit of study and and organizational wisdom I've picked up throguh my high-school career, and it would have been helpful going into it with all that knowledge condensed in one book, whick I'm quite glad this book does. The practical, step-by-step instriuctions on how to organize class materials were incredibly helpful, and this book does a great job of preparing you to manage your time and your personla space. With its diagrams, charts, and overall utility, I would recommend "Where's My Stuff?" To anyone entering high-school. I'm definitely keeping it for college.

Editorial Review:

Free time is great. Unless you spend all of it searching for your homework, your mobile phone, or a clean pair of shorts. Then free time is not so great. In fact, it's non-existent. If chaos and disorganisation are swallowing all of your free time, "Where's My Stuff?" can help you to get it back. Inside, you will learn how to systematically organise your school stuff, your time, and your room. The book includes: innovative notebook systems; backpack maintenance tips; practical pointers for managing your schedule; a template for your own personalised daily planner; and, interior design-inspired techniques to make your room your favourite place to be. With fun and useful illustrations, easy-to-follow charts, and 4 ample doses of humour, "Where's My Stuff?" is an incredible asset for any-one who wants to get it together and keep it together, for good.
