Our two year old adores this book. She loves to shout "Oh no!" at the unexpected ending when the Ant family finds out how ignoring their chores snowballs into culinary disaster! Highly recommended. It's short and the cause-effect chain of events is simple to understand -- and funny! We're going to order the other Ant family books and see if they're as good as this one.

My 2 year old absolutely loves this book. We read it every single night. We now make up our own little stinky pants story when it's time for diaper changing. Very cute. Looking forward to the other books in the series.

THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE BEST ON THE "POTTY" BOOK LIST. ALTHOUGH IT IS ALITTLE BIT PRICIER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER BOOKS OUT IS IS A GREAT BOOK. THE PAGES ARE HEAVY CARDBOARD AND QUITE INDESTRUCTIBLE. THE STORY IS SHORT AND TO THE POINT. "DIAPERS ARE YUCKY AND SMELLY, YOU SHOULD USE THE POTTY, AND I'LL SHOW YOU HOW." THE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE HUMOROUS, AND THE ENIDING IS WONDERFUL. THIS BOOK IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES.

I was attracted to the concept of a potty book that hangs on the handle of the bathroom door because it would always be there to entertain my two year old on the potty. However, it has not moved from the door handle. Because my child who loves books has no interest in the book, I've rated it low. I also think there are better potty books out there. (We like Caillou Potty Time and What to Expect When You Use the Potty.)

Some of my issues with the book are that the snap that holds the book closed is difficult to open. The book itself is awkward and difficult for little hands to handle and maneuver. The first page (although true) bothered me: "Diapers are yucky and smelly! Yor should use the potty -" I think my problem with this is that we are having a lot of setbacks since the birth of her sister. As a result, I feel that this page evokes the feeling of shame, which I am trying to avoid.

On the positive side, this is a sturdy board book which does hang nicely from the door. It quickly reminds little ones of the rituals involved in going to the potty (wipe, flush, wash, etc.) However, it is not a big winner in our home.

When Mama brought home a potty for Annie, Annie said, "No." When I offered to read this book again to my daughter, she said, "No more." Judith Caseley wrote this book based on her experience with her own daughter. Thus Annie's initial resistance to the new potty rings true. Caseley also includes trained playmate Samantha who tries to show Annie the ropes, a tactic some parents attempt (hopefully with more success than Annie's parents). But the story is less entertaining than others on the same topic. I suggest Potty! by Mylo Freeman, Sara's Potty by Harriet Ziefert, or The New Potty by Mayer.

I got this book when my daughter was being potty trained ten years ago. We still have the book and I just recommended it to a friend who is getting ready to start with her daughter.

My daughter loved this book. At age 2, she especially liked the part where Annie says "no!" to the potty. We read that book at least four to five times per week. I never tired of reading it to her.

Annie's story is told in a way that is very accessible and non-threatening to the potty-training crowd. My daughter easily identified with Annie. And I think it's great that Judith Casely addresses the inevitable "accident" in her story.

Get this book. You won't be sorry.

What a charming story to read to a child or with a child. Each page reveals the happy results of of a secret act of generosity and how the good will grows. It will bring a smile to your face. Beautifully written and illustrated.

My grandson just loves this book. I really let him use it too young--under 2, and he tore the heck out of it by 2 times of use. But he liked it so much, especially the "fush", I'm just going to get another, and let him start over again--maybe I should buy 2! Ooooh, being a Nana is the BEST!

This is one of my daughter's favorite "potty time" books. She loves the cute bear and story, and the moving tabs/flaps. However, it's very cutesy with little informative value. It's fine for entertainment, but be warned that the flaps and tabs are not durable at all. My daughter is disappointed now that the rocking chair no longer rocks, toilet paper doesn't pull out, etc. It's almost entirely taped together--but that just shows how much she has enjoyed it!
