This is perfect for my five year old who is behind in his fine motor skills. He is getting the practice he needs while having fun with the colorful pictures and putting the puzzle pieces together.

Great book!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

My daughter loves this books!!!Even though Lets cut paper is a little challeging for her(she is 33m), we love it. She asks for it every day. With the lets color she can do it alone, but with the lets cut, I need to help her a little bit. Its fuuuun!!!!Iessa mom of Amanda.

Excellent preschool activity book! 5 out of 5 stars.

My 4 year old son loved this book. He did every page within a few weeks! Its more than just cutting... you cut things out or parts of things on page to make clever little things. I 100% recommend this. We also ordered Lets Fold, which we like and also give five stars. But, Let's Cut, is the best by far.

Fun play with kumon workbook series 3 out of 5 stars.

I am a dad of a 2 years old boy.
This workbook has a simple and fun material which is exactly for kids around 2. I felt it's a bit pricy for what it has, but I am generally satisfied with this book since it's hard to find this kind of books for this age.

Love it, love it, love it!! 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

My 2 year old loves this little book!! We're working through this and Let's Color simultaneously, and she asks (to put it mildly) for them everyday. It starts off very simply, placing a colored, shaped (circle, triangle, square) sticker over a coordinating blank spot in the middle a picture of an apple, watermelon, etc. I explained to her that the goal is to place it very carefully to try and cover the entire white space with the sticker. The paper and stickers are excellent quality, and can endure a couple of retries if she's not satisfied with her first attempt.
Of course you have to cut out pieces for the pasting portions. That's where the coloring book is coming in handy. She can do one of those while she's waiting for me to cut out the pieces for her next project. The pasting starts off similarly to the stickers, but advances to gluing features on a face, decorating a birthday cake, and 2-4 piece puzzles. Her first face was rather picassoesque, but the next day her panda was pandalike with no prompting at all.
This is my 4th child and I've "home pre-schooled" them all. I wish I'd had these available sooner. I love the incremental approach to more challenging activities. We've recently ordered the "More Let's Sticker and Paste" and "More Let's Color" and we're going to try "Let's Cut Paper" as well.

Not what I expected 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this for my 15 mo. old granddaughter (obviously not the age recommended), and I was disappointed. I expected more little dodads and gadgets for her to pull out and play with. I was thinking it would be a cardboard book full of goodies, but it is definitely just a "book" and not a box of fun playthings to take in and out. She may be a little more interested in it when she gets older, but I think she will have more fun if I make up my own little purse of goodies just for her.

Great idea but.... 2 out of 5 stars.

We received this as a gift. It is a really cute idea and cleverly designed, but not very practical for little kids. It's pretty flimsy considering it's suppose to stand up to the attention of a toddler- it's only made out of cardboard. There are so many little pieces that are easily lost. Like I said- wonderful idea but you would be better off just taking an old purse and filling it up with real items- old keys, old plastic sunglasses, etc.

Editorial Review:

A book just for kids and grannies. Open granny's purse and enter a treasure chest of memories, magic and special treats. Peek inside her notebook. Try on Granny's sunglasses. Best of all, throughout the story is Granny's enduring wit and wisdom. A unique, fourteen-pages die-cut storybook crammed with interactive features and surprises. Contains full-color illustrations throughout, 14 pages individually die-cut into the contents of Granny's purse. 8 5/8" x 8 5/8". Ages 3+

Needs better construction 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My son does love this book...especially the peek-a-boo page. However, I don't know why it's not constructed better. This book was about $10, and the pages are a thick paper instead of board book material. Since this book is geared towards the little ones, they really should make this into a board book. How much more expensive can that be? There are other touch and feel books that are board books that sell for $5 or $6.

disappointed 1 out of 5 stars.

I was born and raised in another country, so I didn't grow up with this bunny, but I heard so much about it and was told it's a classic. I decided to purchase one for my son. I have to say it's a major disappointment because 1) it's poorly made that's not strong enough to sustain an infant's pulling, chewing, and abusing, 2) the sharp edge of the book always seems to hit my son's face (I'm afraid it will scratch his eyes one day...), 3) the fabric in the peek-a-boo page is very weak that it probably will come off in a few months, 4) the smell of the flowers is so storng (considering I try to buy everything organic and without perfume), 5) Daddy's scratchy face? it's a piece of sandpaper which is so rough that I would not let my son touch it in case it hurts his soft skin. Overall, I think it might have been a great concept in 1940, but time has changed and so should the construction of the book itself.

like the old fashioned ones 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

my mother bought this for a long car trip to the beach and my girls who were both under 6 at the time loved them!!!! a year later they are still playing with them.
something i did to make them more durable was cover all the pieces in clear contact paper. i cut the tabs off and used a small amount of the putty used to hang posters on the wall (look where the pencils & pens are at wal-mart) this way, we did not have to deal w the tabs going behind the long hair like the review before mine talks about.
plus you dont have worry about these getting too close to a computer like the magnetic ones.

Great Size, Modest, Beautiful! 5 out of 5 stars.

I grew up on paperdolls, so I know how fun they can be. I bought these to send to the child we sponser with compassion.com, and it fits in a manilla envelope, is thin, and they will be able to forward it on to her. Also, along those guidelines, the clothing is very modest, even the paperdolls are dressed in nightgowns and such (instead of a binkini or underwear), I believe it should be appropriate for other countries.

It is hard to come up with new ideas to send via mail. Would also be a great idea to send to you niece or granddaughter living in a different state via First Class mail. I was very excited to find such a great product, and at a great price! The dresses are very pretty and there are 4 dolls with multiple outfits in the book. I'm sure any little girl in any country would have fun with this assortment!

Editorial Review:

Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, and Belle come to life as four paper dolls, each with outfits that girls will love trying on them. Pretending has never been so fun! And especially for fancy young princesses, the back cover features four cutout bracelets.

Subliminal advertising 3 out of 5 stars.

While I like the story, I find it very disturbing that there is a picture of a coke bottle on almost every page and they get bigger as the story goes on. I like coke but that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Very Clever Wonderful Book - Here is why! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My kids and I love this book. The ending makes all of the stuff that some of the other reviewers complain about make perfect sense to me! The dinosaurs are now extinct. They were soda drinking, dare devils, rude, doing crazy things so of course they are now extinct. Coke would probably not be pleased. But I do wonder what is a mooth?

Ok board book with fun jiggly eyes to keep kids entertained 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This board book has a ten little indian theme (each page is a count down to none). Each number/page has a different type of dinosaur -names given- and a funny rhyme. The eyes are 3D balls encased in plastic so they jiggle when you move the book; there are holes cut in each page so the eyes are visible throughout the book. This book could be for young kids, but also older ones heavily interested in dinosaurs because the different types depicted and named (an older child could be learn the names and be prompted to talk about their characteristics).

I only give this an "ok" because the some parents might not appreciate the rhymes that have the dinos doing bad things (like racing a car on skateboards) or name calling (a police officer calls them nut-brains). Also, almost every page has the dinos drinking from a glass coke bottle, which seemed a little strange.

Editorial Review:

Do the Dinosaur count down. You never know what's going to happen to these crazy dinosaurs as they frolic from ten to zero! A pair of crazy eyeballs built into this boldly illustrated hardbound book jiggle and wiggle from page to page and dinosaur to dinosaur.

Great fun and rare paper model book 4 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

These four working models are simple to make and a lot of fun to operate. The mechanisms are cams and levers and the resulting models are easy to use and, especially in the case of the flying fish, have unexpectedly fluid movement. One small complaint I have (and the reason for the dropped rating) is that the pre-printed colors are very bright and not always appropriate to the model.

This is a Blast! 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought this book for a young boy. I just loved it myself. Nice to have children do something besides video games.

amusement for the easily amused 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Four paper models ... all you need is an X-acto knife, scissors, a glue stick, and a lot of patience and spare time.

Hopping sheep: like the valvetrain of a single overhead cam engine, except that the tappets make sheep hop up and down instead of actuating valves.

Pecking hen: simple to build but not very interesting.

Motley man: complicated for what it does (he just takes a bow.)

Flying fish: has to be seen to be believed. Looks like it's simultaneously swimming and flying when animated.

Editorial Review:

A collection of working paper models to cut out and make. As the mechanisms are operated, the hopping sheep hop energetically and the pecking hen pecks into its feeder. The motley man bows and acknowledges the applause he has earned and the flying fish flaps and undulates its wings. Each of the mechanisms uses a different principle to generate motion.

Editorial Review:

Kids love to hammer, saw, turn bolts, and build things. But of course real tools are a little too hazardous for those tiny fingers. So Caldecott Honor artist Stephen T. Johnson (Alphabet City) came up with a fun and educational solution: a combination toolbox and book! With its seven sturdy cardboard tools, bolts and screws that really turn, and erasable slate, this handy kit will provide hours of entertainment--and may keep those youngsters out of the grownup toolbox. Each two-page spread features a removable working tool and a different shape to work on. Turn the hand drill in the premade holes in a triangle. Pound pretend nails into a star shape. Cut a piece of "wood" into two rectangles--with a satisfying rasping sound! While they're becoming amateur carpenters, children will learn some basic skills in counting, shapes, and colors; on each colorful background, readers see one piece of paper, two pieces of wood, three holes, and so on up to six nails. This handsome red book includes a pencil, ruler, saw, drill, screwdriver, wrench, hammer, and slate for drawing up plans. Smaller children may need some help prying the tools out of their snug compartments, at least until the tools get a little worn in. (Ages 3 to 6) --Emilie Coulter

Hours of portable imaginative play! 5 out of 5 stars.
10 of 10 people found this review helpful.

My daughter received this shortly before she turned 3 years old. It is a delightfully detailed pop-up book that turns into a free-standing fairy palace, with many paper fairies to play in the four intricately decorated rooms. There are doorways and secret passageways inbetween the rooms, and all sorts of delightful suprises, including a pie baking in the oven -- open the oven door and peek in! It folds up easily to transport to a friends or just to put away.
Of course, if you or your child are a "ripper," this is not the toy for you. But if you can hang with the fragility, it will span many developmental stages.

Editorial Review:

It is Midsummer's Eve and you are all invited to the spectacular princess palace for a special ball. Come and explore the splendid Honeysuckle Hall and try out your dance steps in the glittering Rose Ballroom. With six elaborate rooms and a maze of secret passages to discover, it's time to follow the fairies and dance the night away. With a real little staircase, wardrobes to hang clothes in And a pop-up loo, this has to be the ultimate fairy extravaganza.
