This is a great way to pass a rainy day! I'm a big fan of the Klutz products and continue to try out there many different books. I have never been disappointed. I have bought more of these to give as gifts.

Editorial Review:

Traditional color-by-number is a bore once you see the light shine through these 20 different projects. Use the included double-nibbed markers to create your art directly on the see-through vellum pages using our suggested color pairings, or create your own. Make a window hanging, a Japanese banner or a mobile – a shining example of Klutz at it’s finest.

Detective Dinosaur Lost and Found 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

There were 3 short stories about 2 police dinosaurs in this book. It is humorous, with good color illustrations. I would recommend it for the K through 3rd grade level, as well as the teachers.

Silly and Funny 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is a great 1st chapter book for young children. In each chapter, the main characters, Detective Dinosaur and Officer Pterodactyl, solve a mystery. The mysteries are often silly, but they are always fun. For example, in one chapter, Detective Dinosaur is following a noise in the fog and becomes lost himself. He begins singing to calm his nerves, and sings so loudly that Officer Pterodactyl easily finds him! In another chapter, they find a lost kitten and put signs up. But, no one claims the kitten. In the end they decide that the kitten is both lost and found, since it was lost, but they found it. After that, Cadet Kitten goes along on their expeditions. My son, 5, read this book to me (one chapter per night) and LOVED it. He laughed out loud at least once per chapter. I highly recommend this book for K-2 readers.

Editorial Review:

"Help! Baby Penny is lost!"

This sounds like a job for Detective Dinosaur and Officer Pterodactyl! The prehistoric police pair from Detective Dinosaur is back on the beat with new cases to crack. But what will happen when Dective Dinosaur loses his way in the dark? Will he be found at a loss?

Comically clueless Detective Dinosaur and his loyal sidekick, Officer Pterodactyl, are back with three new cases to crack! Together they search for a lost baby and find a home for a stray kitten. But when Detective Dinosaur loses his way in a dark park, will he himself be found at a loss? R. W. Alley’s inspired illustrations, full of humor and appealing details, bring James Skofield’s prehistoric keystone cops to life.

I love Junie B.Jones! She was on the play ground for Field Day and she saw thather boyfriend was chasing the new girl. She did not like that. She told him to stop but he didn't listen. Well I would give the book 5 stars because it is funny! I have to go now. Bye

We love Junie B.! 5 out of 5 stars.

My daughter and I LOVE ALL the Junie B. books. They are hilariously funny. The outrageous actions of the characters including Junnie B. are a great form of reverse psychology on how NOT to act! Junie B. is adorable.

Junie B, Jones Captain Field day 5 out of 5 stars.

Junie B. is in kindergarten. She get to be captain of Field day. There room number is nine and they'er going up against room number eight. Junie B.is mean, bossy, and wears wired close. She did like a boy she called cry baby William.
If you are a boy or don't like Field days then you mite not like it. And if you don't like Junie B. then you mite not like it.

Editorial Review:

Afternoon kindergarten is having a field day, and Junie B. Jones is team captain! Only, here's the problem. Room Eight keeps on winning too many events. And so how will Room Nine ever become the kindergarten champions? As Captain Field Day, will Junie B. find a way to lead her team to victory? Or will it be up to someone else to save the day?

Chess Set and Book together for Beginners 3 out of 5 stars.
236 of 237 people found this review helpful.

Actually, for a starters chess set for someone who might not get into chess seriously (by joining the school chess club) the chess set is ok. My pieces did not crack, but I only used them a short time before getting a regular tournament design chess set and roll board for playing at the school chess club.
The book is not so bad if once again if you are not sure if you are going to get very involved in chess. If you think you are then the book is not very deep and you will outgrow it very fast after reading it. If you think you might be joining your school chess club look at the "Chess complete guide for the beginner" or "Learn Chess" by Alexander for a book that will take you deeper into the strategies.
But, this set and board is a bargin if you are a kid who does not really want to get into chess deeply or be involved in the school club or any tournaments.

Editorial Review:

An acclaimed introduction to the world's most enduring game. Fantasy art illustrations by Kimberly Buclken Root capture the energy and excitement of chess's origins--the medieval battlefield--while a direct, lively text explains the game and its pieces in light of history. Each chess piece and its movements are explained in connection with the medieval world that influenced its evolution. Plus the book comes along with a custom-designed chess board, a storage box, and a full set of chess pieces.

Readers are led through the fundamentals of beginning, middle and endgame, and are shown winning strategies for offense and defense. An ideal game for encouraging logical thought and building confidence in children, chess is being taught to young children the world over. THE KIDS' BOOK OF CHESS AND CHESS SET teaches children a game they can enjoy playing with acquired skill and real brain power.

It all starts at pine hollow. Pine Hollow is a beautiful place that students go for horseback riding lessons. There is a new student at Pine Hollow her name is Lisa Atwood. In the middle of her section someone slams the gate door. Lisa was on a horse called pepper and he got spooked. In the middle Stevie played a trick on Lisa. Lisa then becomes Stevie's friend. Lisa finds out about the over night mountain trail. In the end Stevie and Lisa are going on the MTO.

Editorial Review:

Twelve-year-olds Stevie and Carole meet thirteen-year-old Lisa at riding class. There's a camping trip coming up, but Stevie won't get to go because of grades--until straight-A Lisa helps out.

About Skinnybones 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This book is so funny it's about a boy name Alex. He wants to be the class clouwn.Alex isn't what you'd call a teacher's pet. That's where a boy name TJ comes in. He is a baseball player and he's very good. You should read this book because it is so good as you read it, you can imagine what is happening in your head.

A Kid's Book Review 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is a really good book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Also, if you like comedy books this would be a fine book to read. One part that made me laugh is when Alex lies about the kitty fritters. Alex is the main character in the book. He is known for lying. So if you like books with people lying in it, this is a good book for you.

awesome and funny 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is my all time favorite book. It is very interesting because it has a very good plot. Often I understood exactly how alex (the main character in skinnybones) felt. For example, when my friend popped a hole in a blow up chair, then I sat on it and it slowly made air come out of the chair and it made it look like I did it. I felt embarassed and stupid. The same thing happened to alex when he was playing a baseball game in front of a big crowd. Alex ran up to this kid named T.J and started poking him in the chest saying booga booga. Alex got so embarassed he ran home and never wanted to say the words booga booga again. This book also has other good characters. There's not one thing I don't like about this book. I say if you want a book you can enjoy and have fun with, I'd choose skinnybones.

Editorial Review:

For the smallest kid on the baseball team, Alex “Skinnybones” Frankovitch has a major-league big mouth! But when he brags his way into a pitching contest, this might be one mess that not even Alex can talk his way out of.

Good for 4 or 5 year olds. 4 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I was very disappointed when I first looked at this book. It is very basic and hardly seems to provide enough information to be worthwhile. But when I read it to my four year old it solicited a string of questions. So it probably has the about the right amount of information for a very basic introduction to soccer, which is all the intended audience is ready for. Overall I would recommend it.

Great for four year olds! 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

My two love this book. It breaks the principles of the game into simplistic steps and basic explanations which are perfect for preschoolers. The bold pictures make the book enjoyable for the boys to "read" to themselves sometimes, too.

Editorial Review:

Soccer is fun - let's play!

Find all the basics in this lively guide.

  • The markings on a soccer field
  • What soccer players wear
  • The positions, from forward to goalkeeper
  • The excitement of pasing a ball
  • The thrill of making a goal

All these and more are included, with a useful glossary at the end.

Real information and a Real Cute Horse 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

This is a nice little package for a kid old enough to read for info and adept enough to manipulate craft materials. Beautifully designed, the little soft cover book gives some real and ueseful information about the nature of horses. The package is charming, will romance any horse-loving young person and sneak in some horse-reality at the same time.

Very Creative 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a really great product! The book has a test to see how horse crazy you are, ect, and the most interesting fact, like, what each movement of a horse means, ect.

This also comes with a toy horse, and meterials to make a coat, english saddle, and briddle with rains...even a bit. A stall and fencing comes too for the horse.

Amazing product. You will not regret getting this!

What it's about is a boy named Brett was skateboarding on his driveway. Then a couple of construction workers hit a box while they where digging in the front yard. They gave the box too Brett, so he grabbed a screwdriver, and a hammer using it like a hammer and chisel too open it up. Then when he opened the box he found a skateboard with bog letters saying "the lizard'', but every time he steps foot on the skateboard he gets much better at skateboarding, he can do tricks he never could do on his old skateboard "the cobra''. But on3e of his friends W.E looked up on a search site "the lizard skateboarding'' and it came up with a story about a skateboarder who was about too go pro but then one day when he was skateboarding he came around a corner and got hit by a car, and his parents buried the skateboard in the front yard because they didn't want any bad memories of him. Then his nabor built a skate park in her back yard because of what Brett wrote on a newsletter too the editor. He entered one competition and he came in 1st place and his worst enemy names john entered the competition also but he came in second. This is a really good book and I recommend for people too read this
