Love it! 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is truly perfect for all ages! I bought it for my tween (10-14 yr old) niece and nephews but found myself reading the book all the time. I even had to buy another one for my coworker as a parting gift which was a big hit. Several other coworkers expressed interest in buying one for themselves! Absolutely love it :)

Great book! 5 out of 5 stars.

I ordered this book for myself and my kids. They thought it was the coolest book ever. I think I could have written most of it. I then sent a copy to my brother for his 35th birthday. He has two sons and they both enjoyed it.

Fun for Everyone 5 out of 5 stars.

The entire family has enjoyed this book and many have tried out some of the "suggestions". Even some rather staid members of the family - all in good fun.

Excellent birthday gift for a 10 yr old boy 5 out of 5 stars.

ALWAYS A JOY TO READ. 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

To be frank, I get a kick out of Silverstein's work. It is always a bit quirky, always takes a couple of readings to really "get," and is very entertaining while being quite insightful as to human nature. This work is no different from his other works, same quality, same odd way of looking at life, same delightful black and white drawings. Publisher's Weekly got it pretty right here, in their usual, rather snotty way, which is one of the few reviews I have ever agreed with them on. (except their little shot at some of his art that they felt may no be appropriate for kids...obviously the author of that review has never been around kids very much). This work consists of 171 pages of poetry rhymes and drawings. I first read Silverstein in Playboy magazine years and years ago when I wasted my time with such publications. I did not particularly care for him them, but over the years have developed quite a like for his work. I truely love this book and do highly recommend it.

So loud it made her eyebrows steam.
She screamed so loud
Her jawbone broke,
Her tongue caught fire,
Her nostrils smoked...

Poor Screamin' Millie is just one of the unforgettable characters in this wondrous new book of poems and drawings by the creator of Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic. Here you will also meet Allison Beals and her twenty-five eels; Danny O'Dare, the dancin' bear; the Human Balloon; and Headphone Harold.

Funny jokes for 4-6 year olds 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My older niece, 6 turning 7, is a serious sort so I wanted to get her joke books for her birthday. Her sister is 3 years.

I checked out a bunch of books from the library and online reviews of those and other books.

Of all I looked at, this one is funny, cute and endearing. The girls think it's hilarious. The pictures are very sweet and add to the jokes for non-readers.

It's missing the tacky qualities of many, many kids books of being so-so jokes, or not so nice jokes, or too scary for little people, or needing whole concept explanations to make sense.

It's got flap pages that you open to see the punchline of the joke. It's for a little younger than most joke books (which would be best for age 7 and up). This was one of the very few good for 4 and up, but actually funny jokes. Many are based on people's names which they didn't know, so on first pass there was some explaining to do, for instance that Duane is a name...but at least I didn't have to explain about Dracula and blood for them to understand.

As other reviewers have commented, it is a small number (10) of jokes, they are mostly name-based (not all), and it's in physical style of a younger age book with thicker pages, bright colored straight forward drawings (see front cover), and flaps.

If you get it - enjoy!

Pull back the flaps and find out each hilarious punch line in this classic collection of knock-knock jokes!

Wonderful! 5 out of 5 stars.
33 of 34 people found this review helpful.

"Everything Kids' Joke Book" targets children 9 to 12. The first part of the book is jokes of various sorts. The second part has advice on how to tell jokes and make up jokes and be funny. My 8 year old / 2nd grade daughter loves this book and will willingly read it by herself or aloud. This is exactly what she needs to improve her reading skills, and I've found nothing else she is half as willing to read. Some of the jokes use words she doesn't know; a 12 year old would understand all of the jokes and also find the book suitable. Example jokes: "what is a kitten's favorite color? Purr-ple"; "What is a ghost's favorite color? Boo"; "If astronauts are so smart, why do they count backward?"; "What kind of dog does Dracula like? A Bloodhound." Occasionally throughout, there are cute little exercises to do, where the solution is the answer to a riddle, like a very simple cross-word puzzle. My daughter greatly enjoys filling these out. All told, this books is well worth the buying.

Editorial Review:

Not only does The Everything Kids' Joke Book provide children with an endless supply of good, clean jokes, but it also offers tips on how to tell a joke, how to deliver a punch line, and how to get laughs from family and friends! Children will learn: * The world's seven best limericks. * Monster jokes. * Nickname games. * Cowboy jokes. * Light bulb jokes. * Knock-knock jokes. * And hundreds more!

Scooby Stickers 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this book for my niece. She absolutely loved the book due to the content but I thought there could have been more stickers included. Still, a good buy for the young fan.

Great gift! 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this as a gift for my niece. She had it on her Amazon wishlist. She was very happy to receive this. I would have like to have known that this book was very thin. There wasn't much to it. Overall, my niece loved it.

Cute, but a little overpriced 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Definitely cute, if you are a Scooby-Doo fan like all my kids are, but the book is pretty thin---I would say 20 pages or so and for the money I'm not sure it was worth it.

Too difficult for age 4 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

The stickers in this book were colorful and fun. Putting them in the correct spot is another story. The pages have vague shapes that resemble the shapes of the stickers. The outlines to place the shapes were too vague for my 4-year-old to place the stickers himself. There are also no realy story lines on the pages so it's not that much fun to put the stickers on the pages. Which is probably why the stickers ended up on my wall :(

The book is great for the stickers but could use some improvement to really fit the age range it's being marketed to.

Editorial Review:

See all your favorite Scooby characters in this sticker book, including Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred. There are more than 60 stickers of the Mystery Inc. gang and the ghastly ghouls they unmask. Have a hauntingly good time!

Editorial Review:

Taken in dall smoses, this self-proclaimed "billy sook" is a fun-filled new (posthumously published) offering from children's poet Shel Silverstein, creator of Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Light in the Attic, and other favorites. Completed prior to the poet's death in 1999, Runny Babbit was a work in progress for more than 20 years, and is populated by the likes of Runny Babbit, Toe Jurtle, Ploppy Sig, Polly Dorkupine, and Pilly Belican (who owns the Sharber Bop), all denizens of the green woods where letter-flipping runs rampant. In this madcap world, pea soup is sea poup, Capture the Flag is Fapture the Clag, and snow boots are bow snoots. Each poem incorporates the same kind of switcheroo wordplay found in "Runny's Hew Nobby:" Runny Babbit knearned to lit,/ And made a swat and heater,/ And now he sadly will admit/ He bight have done it metter." (Here, in one of many winningly simple line drawings, R. B. sits knitting one very long sleeve, which is labeled as such.) Children who have some fluency in reading will enjoy this bonsensical nook the most. (Ages 7 to 12) --Karin Snelson

I have a grandson who loves "Knock-Knock" jokes. He was delighted to get this book as an unexpected present in the mail. His parents may wish I hadn't sent it by the time he works his way through all the jokes but I'm glad I did.

Kris the bus driver 1 out of 5 stars.
15 of 16 people found this review helpful.

This is undoubtably the worst jokes you could find. Most children would not even understand the nuances as you have to read the text rather than tell the joke. For instance, "What is the name of the superhero who loves clam chowder? Answer: Souperman." Tell that to a child and see if they laugh! Another example, "Where is the best place to find out the exact weight of a pie? Answer: Somewhere over the rainbow . . . weigh a pie." This joke book is really bad and NOT recommended for anyone. One final example; "What goes, 'Gloom, doom, boom'? Answer: A rhyme bomb." Yuck, yuck.

Rocks 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is filled with Groaners. I like it a lot. A bit heavy on the Vampire and werewolf jokes, but you can still find some quality here. Good for kids or some classic eye rolls at a dinner party of adults.

Editorial Review:

Especially for young funny-bones, here is a brand-new collection from the master of the hilarious joke himself, Jeff Rovin. Children of all ages will appreciate this incredible assemblage of the most hysterical jokes on all kinds of subjects. Original.

Editorial Review:

Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist and children's picture book author Berkeley Breathed crafts a remarkable, hilarious, and yes, even poignant celebration of "flawed dogs": "The bent and plain,/ The unbalanced bod,/ The imperfect people/ And differently pawed." At the core of this "2004 Catalogue of the Piddleton Dog Pound's Very Available Leftovers" is Heidy Strudelberg, "Garbo, Joan of Arc, and Mother Teresa of the nation's unwanted dogs: a reclusive warrior-saint of poundpups." Breathed reveals how Heidy was ousted from the high-falutin’ vanity dog breeding world when she awarded a muddy three-legged street mutt the Westminster Best in Show ribbon. Now, it seems, Heidy has retreated to the Vermont mountains to run the Last Chance Dog Pound, where defective dogs go for one more attempt at getting adopted. The bulk of Flawed Dogs, once you've laughed your way through the introductions and formalities, is a gallery of pathetic pups with accompanying verses. A picture of an extra-long Dachshund startling the dishes right out of her mistress's hands, is captioned thus: "Here’s Sal, it seems no one wants her./ Her ends will stroll off and wander./ A long doggie weenie/ Of noisy linguine/ Sal barks at her butt way down yonder." Dog lovers will be all in a tizzy to get their hands on this crazy, wonderful salute to blemished beagles and faulty foxhounds everywhere. (Ages 8 and older) --Emilie Coulter
