This is a great beginners knock, Knock book. My daughter is a beginner reader, and enjoyed this book very much.

My son loves this book. He gets so much satisfaction out of making people laugh - it makes him laugh and feel good too!

Funny jokes for 4-6 year olds 5 out of 5 stars.

My older niece, 6 turning 7, is a serious sort so I wanted to get her joke books for her birthday. Her sister is 3 years.

I checked out a bunch of books from the library and online reviews of those and other books.

Of all I looked at, this one is funny, cute and endearing. The girls think it's hilarious. The pictures are very sweet and add to the jokes for non-readers.

It's missing the tacky qualities of many, many kids books of being so-so jokes, or not so nice jokes, or too scary for little people, or needing whole concept explanations to make sense.

It's got flap pages that you open to see the punchline of the joke. It's for a little younger than most joke books (which would be best for age 7 and up). This was one of the very few good for 4 and up, but actually funny jokes. Many are based on people's names which they didn't know, so on first pass there was some explaining to do, for instance that Duane is a name...but at least I didn't have to explain about Dracula and blood for them to understand.

As other reviewers have commented, it is a small number (10) of jokes, they are mostly name-based (not all), and it's in physical style of a younger age book with thicker pages, bright colored straight forward drawings (see front cover), and flaps.

If you get it - enjoy!

Editorial Review:

Pull back the flaps and find out each hilarious punch line in this classic collection of knock-knock jokes!

Wonderful! 5 out of 5 stars.
33 of 34 people found this review helpful.

"Everything Kids' Joke Book" targets children 9 to 12. The first part of the book is jokes of various sorts. The second part has advice on how to tell jokes and make up jokes and be funny. My 8 year old / 2nd grade daughter loves this book and will willingly read it by herself or aloud. This is exactly what she needs to improve her reading skills, and I've found nothing else she is half as willing to read. Some of the jokes use words she doesn't know; a 12 year old would understand all of the jokes and also find the book suitable. Example jokes: "what is a kitten's favorite color? Purr-ple"; "What is a ghost's favorite color? Boo"; "If astronauts are so smart, why do they count backward?"; "What kind of dog does Dracula like? A Bloodhound." Occasionally throughout, there are cute little exercises to do, where the solution is the answer to a riddle, like a very simple cross-word puzzle. My daughter greatly enjoys filling these out. All told, this books is well worth the buying.

Editorial Review:

Not only does The Everything Kids' Joke Book provide children with an endless supply of good, clean jokes, but it also offers tips on how to tell a joke, how to deliver a punch line, and how to get laughs from family and friends! Children will learn: * The world's seven best limericks. * Monster jokes. * Nickname games. * Cowboy jokes. * Light bulb jokes. * Knock-knock jokes. * And hundreds more!

I have a grandson who loves "Knock-Knock" jokes. He was delighted to get this book as an unexpected present in the mail. His parents may wish I hadn't sent it by the time he works his way through all the jokes but I'm glad I did.

Kris the bus driver 1 out of 5 stars.
15 of 16 people found this review helpful.

This is undoubtably the worst jokes you could find. Most children would not even understand the nuances as you have to read the text rather than tell the joke. For instance, "What is the name of the superhero who loves clam chowder? Answer: Souperman." Tell that to a child and see if they laugh! Another example, "Where is the best place to find out the exact weight of a pie? Answer: Somewhere over the rainbow . . . weigh a pie." This joke book is really bad and NOT recommended for anyone. One final example; "What goes, 'Gloom, doom, boom'? Answer: A rhyme bomb." Yuck, yuck.

Rocks 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is filled with Groaners. I like it a lot. A bit heavy on the Vampire and werewolf jokes, but you can still find some quality here. Good for kids or some classic eye rolls at a dinner party of adults.

Editorial Review:

Especially for young funny-bones, here is a brand-new collection from the master of the hilarious joke himself, Jeff Rovin. Children of all ages will appreciate this incredible assemblage of the most hysterical jokes on all kinds of subjects. Original.

Great book for early readers 5 out of 5 stars.
11 of 11 people found this review helpful.

I bought this book for my daughter, age 4, before taking a nine-hour train trip. She had me reading it for hours, and eventually ended up being able to read it herself cover-to-cover. ("Q.: Why did the geese honk at the piggy driver.? A.: Because he was HOGGING the road".)

My daughter loves riddles and wordplay, and this is best book that I have found that uses these elements. In addition, the illustrations are first-rate.

A very engaging book for a young reader with a good sense of humor.

Absolutely adorable! 4 out of 5 stars.

You can't go wrong purchasing this book. My son was delighted in being both able to read as well as to tell punchlines to jokes.

Great for your budding comedienne/comedian! 5 out of 5 stars.

I purchased this for my daughter's sixth birthday. Her reading skills are par for a kindergartner, so she needs help with some of the words, but the concepts are right up her alley! Thank God we got away from the same three knock knock jokes!
This book has begun to teach my daughter the true joy of puns and riddles! Great beginning reader joke book.

Editorial Review:

Here are twenty-two outrageous original riddles perfectly targeted to the funny bones of beginning readers. Laughing over the sheer silliness of these riddles and their zany illustrations, young readers will discover for themselves the delight of wacky wordplay. And just what do you hear when cows sing? MOOsic, of course!

Editorial Review:

"I spy a heart, a starfish, a frog, / A towel, a trowel, a taxi, a dog; / Seven horses, a barrel, a duck that is teeny, / Two real feathers, and a surfer's bikini." Now, all you have to do is find these objects in Walter Wick's masterful, crystal-clear, boldly colorful photographic landscapes. I Spy Gold Challenger! collects author Jean Marzollo and Wick's 12 favorite photographs from previous I Spy books, and invents a new series of ways to make children scratch their heads. A fantasy castle with a sand dragon and a medieval battle in progress; a complex city intersection made from wooden blocks and assorted toys; an attic stuffed with junk--each page seems more complex than the last. The seeming simplicity of the task at hand, and the surprising difficulty in finding all the items mentioned in the accompanying rhymes, remains a winning combination. (Click to see a sample spread. I love this book!!!! It is so much fun. When my friends come over to play we always look at it. Then we roll around the floor laughing and laughing. Even the same jokes are funny over again.

I practice on my mom to see if she thinks the jokes are funny from "Good Clean Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids." She laughs too. Sometimes she says they are silly. I think they are funny.

Editorial Review:

Well loved book 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I bought this for my son when he was 6 years old, and he LOVES it. He's had it at least a year, and I still will find him re-reading it. He already had an interest in humor & jokes, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to give him some new material.

    Editorial Review:

Children love to be funny and to swap cool jokes. All of the classic joke formats — jump jokes, knock-knocks, riddles, visual puns, and many more — are included and grouped by themes that reflect childrens's interests and lives including technology, monsters, aliens, families, school, and silly book, movie, and song titles. Each chapter ends with a “half-joke,” so that readers can test their growing skills by making up a punch line. Full-page drawings by Paul Brewer accompany each section, and spot art throughout the book punctuates the jokes with visual humor. The 17 ½ tips at the end of the book help the reader to develop confidence and a personal style of telling jokes. Also included are guidelines for writing funny jokes. Some of the author’s favorite lines submitted by readers will be posted on youmustbejoking.net. This collection of over 200 jokes and silly art will appeal to the class clown and stand-up performer in every child.
