The book I read was The Boy Who Saved Baseball. This book is about a town called Dillontown and its historical baseball field. The field is in danger of being destroyed by Orange County but it could be saved by just winning a baseball game against the camp down the hill. The fate of Dillontown lies in the hands of Tom Gallagher and the rest of the baseball team.

My favorite part of the book was when Cruz De La Cruz and Tom Gallagher sneak out to go to Dante Del Gato's house to ask him to coach and hopefully tell them the secret of hitting. They ride there horses up to his house and find that there is a large wall surrounding his house. Cruz thinks and comes up with an idea, he gets a rope and finds a metal thing on the ground, he ties the metal thing to the end of the rope and lasso's it around a tree behind the wall. Cruz climbs the wall using the rope but the wall couldn't handle the weight so it collapsed and left a giant gap in the wall. Then Del Gato came with a shotgun, Cruz quickly apoligized and explained what happened and why they came. They asked Del Gato if he could coach there team and he said no, they also asked the secret of hitting but he told them there was none.

This deffinatley wasn't the best book I have read becuase there is a lot of boring parts. Although once you get to the end of the book it is worth it. The title may make this book seem like more of a boys book because of the word "Baseball" but however it is not all about baseball htere is more to it that you would have to find out by readiing this book. This is a good book for any age or gender considering that it is quite an easy read. Overall, I do recommend the book The Boy Who Saved Baseball to anyone.

This is another terrific book by Syd Hoff that brings back childhood memories. I loved it then and I still love it now. My kids enjoy reading this book over and over again. It is filled with colorful pictures and the story line is so cute and fun. Another great book by Syd Hoff.

This book is a good follow up to Z is fo Zamboni. It has numbers rather than letters, and the two would make a great gift together. As a stand alone book it is not as good as the Zamboni book though.

This picture book is darling, and holds the interest of the adult reading it to a child. If you have any connection to hockey,or Canada you will love this book which is beuatifully written and illustrated by two Canadians, Matt Napier and Melanie Rose.

This books certainly brings back memories of games played on the playground at recess. Although some of the words are different than I learned them, as expected for such widely used rhymes, I recognized quite a few. One disappointment was that there is no indication of the music to go with each rhyme. The authors did not provide an indication of the notes to sing or even that it sounds like a common song. Also, there are some lyrics that are inappropriate for young children and others that are very sexist or condescending. This book is not for everyone and I would certainly not hand it to a young reader without editing it or carefully supervising the language used by the children.

I bought this book because I have so many memories of playing many of these games when I was a little girl, and I wanted to share that experience with my child.

I was a little disappointed because many of the words are quite different from how I learned them. But it is probably unreasonable for me to expect anything different.

If you can get past the fact that these games aren't 100 percent identical to how you played them as a child, you'll find this to be a really helpful guide.

Geronimo just doesn't understand why everyone is so excited about the Olympics starting in three days, since he's not exactly a sports fan. Then his sister, Thea, begs him to cover the games for The Rodent's Gazette. Geronimo refuses, of course, but that does him no good since his grandfather, the founder of the newspaper, insists he head straight to Athens to write an article and host a daily television program about the Olympics.

On the plane, a clumsy and pushy flight attendant turns out to be Hercule Poirat, Geronimo's old detective friend, in disguise. He confides to Geronimo that there's something strange going on at the Olympics. Hercule persuades Geronimo to help him investigate. While Geronimo must learn to overcome his shyness in order to star in his TV show, that's just one challenge he faces in Athens. Geronimo and Hercule must turn into spies in order to solve the Olympics mystery, which involves a character Geronimo Stilton series fans will remember.

This is another enjoyable Geronimo adventure and comes complete with tons of interesting facts about the Olympics, including history tidbits, traditions, participating countries' flags and much more.

I, Geronimo Stilton, am not a sportsmouse. Running? Sweating? Not for me. I prefer relaxing in an armchair with a nice bowl of chocolate cheesy chews. But with the Olympics coming up, sports were all anyone in New Mouse City could talk about. Rat-munching rattlesnakes!

The beginning made me unsure but once he got to camp (or met Tarik) I knew it would be good. I was worried that Danny would walk over everyone, but between Rasheed (at first) Lamar ( He doesn't deserve to be Named after Lamar Odom) and Coach "My Way" Powers I had plenty of people to hate (Teddy was absent because Richie told the mafia to get him). Powers was tied with Lamar and Teddy for biggest jerk in history, his quotes, (after Danny wins the game by using his own play) "You used your own play didn't you? No more secrets Mr. walker. Are you ever going to learn?" (after Danny asks to be traded to another team) " Mr. Walker let me give you to think about. Soccer. It's full of fast little guys like you." He destroys anyone with creativity and run an run mindedness (If he coached the Phoenix Suns Nash, Barbosa, Marion and Amare would be chewed out nightly and get 5 minutes of play each)
