A timeless classic 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

A book written with this much emotion and character should be read by all ages. Along with all the other books in this captivating series, "Eagle" is truly a work of art. The knowledge behind everything in this book honestly reflects the dedication of the author. Through the author's writing style, I can clearly see the characters thoughts, appearances, and actions. Congratulations to Jeff Stone on another amazing book. I look forward to reading the next book(s) in this amazing series.

If you are ever looking for a pleasing book to read on the airplane, or on a nice sunny day, I suggest anyone of the Five Ancestor books. Have a wonderful day, and happy reading!

Editorial Review:

For year, Ying hated his grandmaster for denying him the opportunity to train as a Dragon, and held a deep resentment for his five younger brothers–grandmaster’s favorites. He took his revenge and burnt the Cangzhen temple to the ground, but the five youngsters survived and continue to be a thorn in his side. Yet, when betrayed by the emperor and imprisoned, it was his younger sister, Hok, who rescued him. Now Ying begins to realize that Tonglong has been manipulating him for a long time. Ying needs to figure out who are his friends and who are his enemies . . .and he needs to figure it out fast!

Kung Fu Panda story book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book, and another like it, were gifts for my 5-year old grandson who loved the movie. He now also loves the books and has to have them read to him every night.
It was a very successful gift and as usual, Amazon did a perfect job in the shipping.

Editorial Review:

By day, Po the panda works in his family's noodle shop . . . but by night, Po dreams of kung fu greatness. One day Po is chosen to train alongside his kung fu idols, the Furious Five and Master Shifu. Arriving at the palace, Po refuses to leave his chopsticks at the door and learns how to meld his love of the culinary arts with martial arts.

He proves that he really is the chosen Dragon Warrior after all!

Tiger by Jeff Stone 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This book is about five kids who live in a temple. Each of them has been taught a different style of animal martial-arts by their grandmaster. One night, Fu, who was taught the tiger style, was woken up by the grandmaster. Ying, who used to live at the temple, and is an eagle-style master, was invading the temple with the emperor's troops in search of the dragon scrolls, which taught you the complete dragon style. The boys were told to hide, and a fierce battle ensued. In the following war, everyone except the kids was massacred.
The boys fled, as they were told to do. Fu, however, circled back, stole the dragon scrolls from Ying's troops, and sets out on a journey to find help.
This is a great book and I recommend you read it. It keeps you in the book with fast-paced action and some humorous parts. After you finish it, you should read the other books in The Five Ancestors series, starting with Monkey, the second book.

Editorial Review:

Twelve-year-old Fu and his temple brothers Malao, Seh, Hok, and Long don’t know who their parents were. Raised from infancy by their grandmaster, they think of their temple as their home and their fellow warrior monks—their “temple brothers”—as their family. Then one terrible night, the temple is destroyed. Fu and his brothers are the only survivors. Charged by their grandmaster to uncover the secrets of their past, the five flee into the countryside and go their separate ways. Book #1 follows Fu as he struggles to find out more and prove himself in the process.

Monkey 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 3 people found this review helpful.

The Five Ancestors series by Jeff Stone is an exciting series about five young monks from an ancient Chinese temple called Canghzen, or, literally, Hidden Temple. The books are the same story, but from different views, because they split up. I think these books are a great adventure, and I also liked Tiger.

Monkey ( 5 Ancestors) 5 out of 5 stars.

I think the book was better than hope for. You need to read the frist book first than you will get the story.

Editorial Review:

At 11-years-old, Malao is the youngest of the Five Ancestors. Master of the monkey fighting style, he’s curious and quick, fast and fun-loving. But now, with the destruction of the temple and the deaths of his older brothers and Grandmaster, Malao the fun-loving monkey is forced to face things he’d rather not. As he grapples with these new and unwelcome feelings, Malao has an encounter with a dangerous band of bandits, is adopted by a troop of monkeys commanded by a one-eyed albino, and hears tantalizing rumors of a mysterious recluse called the Monkey King, who is said to act, and look, a lot like him. . . .

Three companions head down the Yellow River to the underworld of a dangerous city, unaware that their youngest brother is being used as bait in a trap, in this exciting Kung Fu drama which adds to a series with the fourth out of five projected books. Hok has long hidden her identity, but when her old life causes complications in her new world, Hok finds herself allying with other young monks who must use their kung fu skills to survive. Kids who love martial arts will relish this adventure.

Editorial Review:

Hok, a crane-style Kung Fu master, is also a master at hiding. For the past 12 years, she has hidden the fact that she is a girl. Now her rogue brother, Ying, and his army have placed a huge price on her head. Fortunately, she manages to make it to Keifeng where she finds her mother and a "round-eye" with the very funny name of Charles. Together Hok and Charles start to make some sense of the magnitude of Ying's plans.

Best Book Ever 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The Five Ancestors: Snake (Book 3)

The Five ancestors is the BEST book I have ever read in my entire life. Written by Jeff Stone, The Five Ancestors is about 5 young brother warriors taught in different styles of Kung-Fu: Monkey(Malao), Snake(Seh), Tiger(Fu), Crane(Hok), and Dragon(Long). They all lived in a temple and learned new techniques and moves daily. There was a 6th brother named Ying, but he left the temple angrily because of a fight with the grandmaster. The grandmaster is the master of the temple, and he takes care of the young boys. Years after Yings departure, he returns with an army of soldiers to destroy the temple.
The temple warriors are severely outnumbered, and they fight to the death. Grandmaster saves the boys by putting them into a large crate until the battle is over and then the boys flee. Some say they are the "chosen ones" because they were the only ones to survive the battle. The boys split up and flee in different paths and were supposed to find there true destiny.
The Five Ancestors: Snake, combines an EXCELLENT story, with battles that are so realistic that they leave the reader waiting for more. The action in The Five Ancestors keeps you interested without making you go "yeah right!"
In conclusion, The Five Ancestors: Snake is The Best book in the world. The combined story with action and suspense is a true masterpiece. I would give this book a 15 out of 10 because of how good it is. The entire series is a great and stunning one to leave you waiting for the next book.

Editorial Review:

Twelve-year-old Seh is a snake-style master and a keeper of secrets. Close-lipped and ever-watchful, he has used his highly attuned senses to collect information about his brothers, his temple, and even Grandmaster. Now, with the temple and Grandmaster gone, Seh sheds his orange robe like an old skin, joins a bandit gang, and meets a mysterious woman whose name means Cobra—all the while trying to stay one step ahead of vengeful Ying!
