The LotRO World Companion is probably the single most useless book I've ever purchased. Every single item in the game is included, but they are all listed by name in alphabetical order. This means it's impossible to look up weapons or armour by the level; it's impossible to look up creatures based on their level or by the areas in which you'll find them; it's impossible to look up quests based on the level. It's almost as if the authors merely took a computer database and just transposed it directly into the book.

Also, there are no hints in the book. The only information it gives is what can be found in the game, and the game is actually more helpful than the book, in that it gives you a context from which you can better figure out where to look for creatures etc.

Altogether this book is a complete waste. It's so poorly laid-out that I doubt I'll ever be able to get any useful information from it. I urge players to avoid this one like the plague.

I am an (allmost 60) year old lady , I have no man, BUT I've got the X-box.....playstation 2 and 3,... nintendo 64..., gamcube and the WII of course, I like action adventure en button-bashing in my games, a few years ago I played with my sons ( the parts I could't-do.... not quick enough)but they arn't living at home anymore (they are 30) so I have to try by myself......sigh... but with this book as clear as it is and beautifull pictures,!!! I am sure I can get a looooong way trough..

OK, but not really worth the $ 3 out of 5 stars.

There is some good information here on offenses and defenses in the game and some generic information on all the NFL teams. But there is no specific information on plays to call for each team.

Other issues:

- At times the guide references the XBOX and PS2 controls. Other times the PS3 is mentioned. Why not list controls for all consoles or at the least be consistent?

- Several typos / misspellings. Has the publisher ever heard of spellcheck?

- Several inaccuracies. Ex: the Patriots no longer play on grass, they are on field turf.

QA was lacking on this book.

Stay Away From This (PS2) Guide, Get The PC Guide Instead 1 out of 5 stars.

This is one of the worst Official strategy guides you could ever buy. Sure it covers all of the missions, but some of them are not covered any more fully than what you get from playing the game itself. It briefly covers SOME of the side jobs and non-mission tasks, but an Official guide should cover ALL of them! There is no detailed information on the Rampages and Unique Jumps, and the Hidden Packages are only covered with a map and short sentence. Some of the other reviewers here go into detail about the deficiencies of this book, so I really don't need to say much more. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS THIS BOOK RECEIVED, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T DESERVE THEM.

I own this guide and the one released eight months later for the PC version. Although the PC guide is smaller (but much thicker) and in black & white (there are color maps in the back), it covers EVERYTHING (except cheat codes) about the game and with much more detail. Even if you own the Playstation 2 version of the game, you'd be better off buying the PC guide. The only difference gameplay wise are the controls mentioned in the book and a few little things like rewards for some of the vehicle missions.

To wrap this up, here is an excerpt from the author in the Acknowledgement's section of the PC guide: "Beyond the satisfaction of playing the game a few more times, I was even more delighted to add features to this guide that I didn't have time to include in the PS2 guide. And with Tim Cox's phenomenal assistance, as well as his passion for the game, time was no longer the enemy. We are proud to bring you the most comprehensive Grand Theft Auto III guide in existence." So, that explains why this guide (PS2) sucks. The author was rushed to complete the book, in time for the release of the game, no doubt. Right there in black & white the author of both guides tells you that the PC guide is the most comprehensive guide, and thus the best one. (I have no idea if the X-Box Double Pack guide is based on the PS2 or PC versions, so proceed with caution when getting that one.)

A great help after finish the whole game for first time, now thanks o this I could get everything on my second gameplay without losing a special item or something. Indeed a great product!.

So far (half way through my second play) everything has been accurate.

This includes details on character artes, weapons, food, items, everything in the game, really. I really like how it has sections devoted to sub events outside the regular storyline (Such as, Daath is next for the plot, but it will have a section before that outlining newly available events). It contains some boss strategies, but I didn't bother to use them.

I do wish it contained some type of "upcoming sub event warning" for items that are absolutely necessary, so I don't have to run around like a crazy person looking for them, and can have time to obtain them during regular events.

It's not bad to navigate, but the pages are crammed with info. Sections often start right at the bottom and continue to the next page, or awkwardly flow in columns. This is just a minor issue and not detremental to enjoyment.

2nd Favorite Star Wars game ever 5 out of 5 stars.

Star Wars: Empire at War is a great game onto itself. Combine it with the new faction in the Forces of Corruption expansion, and now you have an even more dynamic and enjoyable Real Time Strategy game. No bugs that I know of and definitely adds to the replayability. Great game, where having the right troops/ ships can turn the tide of what appears to be an unwinable battle. Even though I enjoy turn based strategy more, this still gets two thumbs up from me.

My favorite Star Wars strategy game is: Star Wars: Rebellion.

I found this to be a really good book! Its got some really nice editorials, which most reviewers dont give to much credit for. Most of them open the book and say "Oh, its just a catalog" but if you look and read through, it has some articles about the future of gaming and research on gaming. And a quick look at video game heros.

The book, has a list over major tittles of 2006, which in its self is really good, because it gives you an idea of what games you might like, if you liked a specific tittle.

And Volume 2 Will be more in-depth then the first, and they are going to make a nostalgia one too! Which im looking forward too!

This book is a really nice guide to parents and alike, as it gives you insite to what games are good for your children ect.

An Excellent Guide! Good Work BradyGames! 5 out of 5 stars.

First of all, the game's layout is just beautiful. Lots of artwork, screenshots to help you out, and full-colour maps.

The walkthrough is rather good, (even though you keep having to flip to the back for the maps) The boss tips are right on, and all the items you can find are listed as well as enemy info and pictures. Info on New Game+ is also included (though i did notice a few things missing..) Also, all the characters, the specials, and info on how to recruit them is listed flawlessly.

This game isn't difficult (and a guide isn't needed to beat the game) but if you're a completist, and want to get everything there is to get in Chrono Cross, this guide has everything you need.

One of the previous customer reviews accurately points out that this Limited Edition strategy guide is *not* leather bound. I am a Title Manager for BradyGames Publishing, and I worked on this Gears of War strategy guide. Adding "Leather Bound" to the description is a mistake on the part of Amazon. We are currently trying to get this item description corrected. It was never our intention to falsely advertise this product. We don't make any claim of a leather binding anywhere on the product itself, nor did we ever instruct Amazon to list this product as having a leather binding. I'd like to apologize to anyone who purchased this guide with the expectation that it had a leather binding. We know that misrepresenting our products only creates ill will amongst our customers. I personally apologize for this misunderstanding, and I hope to get this problem rectified as quickly as possible.
