I think that exist easier book than this. It is look like 10 randomly collected training from some MLM company. BUT BASIC IDEA: GIVE PEOPLE 10 EASY STEP TO DUPLIKATE IS VERY POWERFULL AND 2 FROM THEIR PRESENTATIONS ARE VERY HELPFUL.

Now I get it! 4 out of 5 stars.

With this book, even I can understand Multi-Level Marketing. Usually my eyes glaze over when it comes to numbers (I'm a word person). Now I get it!

Very helpful for MLM recruits 5 out of 5 stars.

Getting potential MLM business recruits to read this book can make the difference between closing the sale and not closing the sale. It boils down what is years of the authors MLM experience into simple to understand examples. We used the book as one of the key tools to build a successful health and wellness MLM business. Highly recommended.

Editorial Review:

This is the classic MLM how-to: the one that started it all and is still a best-seller, for much of what Mr. Failla has to say is timeless. Don Failla is famous for such "household word" phrases as "Own Your Life: Ask Me How," "sizzle sessions" and much, much more. The famous "Ten Napkin Presentations" form the core of this book. Learn how to present simple, impossible-to-forget images that explain the basics of MLM. It doesn't get any clearer or more concise than Failla's classic.

As always, Block is avant-garde AND persuasive 4 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Block has done a fine job of discussing individual responsibility and helping get to the heart of the question "What are we really trying to accomplish?" rather than "How can we get this done and crossed off the list?" Too often, organizations are in such a rush to get things done that they end up putting the square peg in the round hole. They duplicate a solution that worked for a similar, but not identical problem etc. I feel like this book is the complimentary inverse of Block's "Stewardship" book. Whereas "Stewardship" looks at the organization and its effectiveness from a leadership/management point of view, this book addresses the personal autonomy and personal responsibility that all workers should have -- what Block's "Stewardship" book calls for as necessary for effective leadership (that the power and responsibilty are within the ranks of each worker). This book delves into this concept of pushing responsiblity down to each individual in the organization and what that means practically to the indvidual. As with "Stewardship," Block writes well and effectively delivers evidence and concrete examples along with his theory to make his points.

Editorial Review:

People keep asking "How?" as a defense against living their life, says best-selling author Peter Block. In this witty, insightful award-winning book, Block shows that many standard solutions and improvement efforts, reinforced by most of the literature, keep people paralyzed. Here he places the "how to" craze in perspective and teaches individuals, workers, and managers ways to act on what they know. This in turn allows them to reclaim their freedom and capacity to create the kind of world they want to live in. Block’s "elements of choice" — the characteristic of a new workplace and a new world based on more positive values — include self-mentoring, investing in relationships, accepting the unpredictability of life, and realizing that the individual prospers only when the community does.

Short, practical, concise help for dealing with customers 5 out of 5 stars.
18 of 18 people found this review helpful.

The book begins with a section outlining some sixty specific customer service techniques, and describes each of them. Some are very basic, and some are more advanced, particularly those that deal with dealing with angry customers, or preventing problems with customers from escalating and becoming time consuming.

But that's not the meat of the book, or what makes the book so useful. The rest of the book contains about sixty vignettes or dialogues between customers and staff, showing how the various situations SHOULD be handled. Each vignette is short, and to the point and the information for each one can be assimilated and learned from in a very few minutes.

I like this book because it can be used in so many ways. You can sit and read it through. You can browse it and just read the parts that you want help with. You can read one or two vignettes, and learn one or two skills a day, since each segment really stands on its own. It's a great source book to use in customer service training, because it's all there -- techniques, and how to use them.

It's low priced. It's quick to learn from. And it's real. Most of the vignettes struck home with me. I bet I've had most of these situations.

If there's a better, faster book to learn how to deal with customers (especially the difficult customers), I haven't found it yet.

Useful 4 out of 5 stars.
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

A lot of this stuff is already known to me, but this book is still beneficial to the average person who may forget the title format, etc. It's almost like a huge cheat sheet! The cover letter chapter and the magazine proposal chapter were the best and most useful for me. The organization and layout of this book are dynamite. Great job!

Could have been better 3 out of 5 stars.
7 of 9 people found this review helpful.

This book is not bad but could have been better. There is a distinct tendency for the author to be repetitive and each example letter is shown in full, which results in a lot of (wasted) white space on the pages. Also, in my opinion, the book itself has been put together relatively cheaply; it's reminiscent of a large mass-market paperback. I prefer 'How to say it' by Rosalie Maggio which covers most of the same ground.

Editorial Review:

This authoritative and encyclopedic reference shows how to write a business letter, a social note, a press release, or complaint. The helpful guide includes a time-saving compendium of sample letters that can be used as templates to suit any situation.

The CAPM Exam - How to Pass on Your First Try 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I passed on the first try as the title suggests. Much of the credit is due this book. There was no need for an expensive week long crash course. I am very pleased with the purchase. I think the book might have missed the mark on how much attention to give to the Communications Management process as I scored "Below Proficent" in this area. However, I did well in all of the other areas. Obviously, I would recommend this book.

Editorial Review:

Designed for project managers looking to add the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification to their resume, this guidebook presents everything needed to pass the exam—from glossaries of terms and definitions to professional testing advice. Test preparation topics, including complete explanations of all CAPM subjects, are accompanied by a breakdown of the processes, inputs, outputs, and techniques associated with this PMI certification. A final chapter packed with sample test questions is also included.

Editorial Review:

"Microsoft Office InfoPath represents a revolutionary leap in XML technologies and a new paradigm for gathering business-critical information. I am delighted that Scott Roberts and Hagen Green, two distinguished members of the InfoPath product team, decided to share their experience in this book."

--From the Foreword by Jean Paoli, cocreator of XML 1.0 and Microsoft Office InfoPath

Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 offers breakthrough tools for gathering, managing, and integrating business-critical information, and creating efficient forms-driven processes. Two longtime members of Microsoft's InfoPath product team have written the first comprehensive, hands-on guide to building successful XML-based solutions with InfoPath 2007.

The book opens with a practical primer on the fundamentals of InfoPath form template design for information workers and application developers at all levels of experience. It then moves into advanced techniques for customizing, integrating, and extending form templates--with all the code examples and detail needed by professional developers.

Learn how to:

  • Design form templates: create blank form templates, insert and customize controls, use advanced formatting, and construct and lay out views

Delivers as advertised... 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Far too often I have picked up a self-help book and either set it down unread because it was pure drudgery - - or I read it to conclusion to learn that it failed to deliver the self-help mechanics that I was looking for. This book delivered. It was a quick and entertaining read and provided straightforward techniques for dealing with tough questions in a debate, a business presentation or public Q&A. Author uses many political debate anecdotes yet they are all powerful in illustrating his concepts. I was left with an excellent understanding of his recommended mechanics in dealing with tough questions. I felt that the book delivered. The chapters included:

1) The Critical Dynamics of Q&A
2) Effective Management Implemented
3) You're Not Listening
4) Active Listening (Concentration)
5) Re-Take the Floor (Self-Defense)
6) Provide the Answer (Balance)
7) Topspin in Action (Agility)
8) Preparation (Discipline)
9) The Art of War (Self-Control; Agility vs. Force)

Editorial Review:

Jerry Weissman has made a career of coaching nearly 500 execs on their IPO roadshows, the most critical presentations of their lives. Now, he's written an indispensable guide to answering the toughest questions you'll ever face. Using compelling examples from Presidential debates to stock analyst meetings, Weissman teaches how to respond with perfect assurance. Learn to control your entire exchange with a hostile questioner: the question, answer, interactions with questioner and audience, timing, and above all, yourself.
