Written in the same style as the two previous volumes, this is set to be another gem in the series.

This is a brilliant learning method. Most language CDs/DVDs are too primitive for practical study, and focus on isolated phrases at the expense of a thorough grammatical understanding of the target language. This set of audio files, however, gives a complete basic vocabulary with individual words both by themselves and in context, enabling the student to understand the underlying language structure simply by listening and to start building his/her own sentences. Its perfect for the daily commute or a walk in the park, and feels just like an endlessly patient teacher tutoring you in a one-on-one lesson. If you want to learn Chinese all youll ever need is Beverly Hongs 'Speak Chinese Today' and iSpeak Chinese - put it on your iPod right away and see results immediately!

Shelly Brisbin's "Easy iPod and iTunes" by Que publishing may be the best book available for using an iPod or iTunes. (After reading it, I have no need for an alternate book to learn from.)

Shelly writes clearly and concisely, in a "playful" tone. Her "Easy" book is indeed easy to read and follow. Or you can skip to what you want since the Parts (chapters) are divided well. Every single page is filled with large, colorful pictures, making it appealing and quick to learn with the aid of pictures. "See it done. Do it yourself." A manual cannot be easier to use, plus this soft-cover book doesn't have the "dry" feel of a manual. The back cover says, "No need to feel intimated; we'll hold your hand every step of the way." Why struggle through a manual?

Thanks Shelly Brisbin for writing this "reference" book!

I am new to Linux programming (I'm a .Net developer) and was a bit frustrated with the online tutorials for Qt and decided to give this book a try. I am very happy with the decision, this book is very well written. I like the style of the author, giving us some practical exercises after each topic, so we can improve the application he develops throughout the book (a "paintbrush"). Now that I understood the basics I can use the Qt documentation to do my own apps.

People who like those huge, "step-by-step" ("click File->Quit to exit the application...") books might be a bit disappointed with this one though, the author assumes that the reader knows some C++ and can figure out some stuff by himself/herself, so be warned. Not that he skips any information needed, but he doesn't repeat the same thing 10x either, so you gotta be a bit "smart" to read this book.

The previous reviewer dismissed this as outdated and suggested if you don't already own an iPod, to avoid the book. I bought the book after making the decision to buy but before I had actually made the purchase. I'm glad I bought it. I found the book highly informative both in the features and use of the iPod but also with the iTunes software. For me, it is indispensible. If you're planning on purchasing an iPod, or already have one and are trying to get maximum functionality out of both the iPod and iTunes, this is money very well spent.

This is an excellent book that will transform the reader from novice to near-power user. The author details the product offerings, basic features, more advanced features, and third party offerings that increase the value of the Palm. With this book as a primer, I knew exactly what I was doing when I first picked up a Palm.

I scanned the Palm For Dummies book before settling on this book. In my opinion, the Dummies book was comparatively confusing and overly brief.
