Friday the 13th - The luckiest day of my life! 5 out of 5 stars.

Nothing else in the world has resonated with me so profoundly and powerfully as the works of Esther and Jerry Hicks have. I received this collection a few weeks ago and I have listed to it in its entirety twice. I am ready to manifest one of their cruise workshops into my life for next year.

I would like to expand on the first reviewer's comments. Abraham is loving and does have a whimsical sense of humor. Abraham takes you on a guided tour of how to raise your vibrations to the higher levels. This is also called "the emotional journey."

The basic message in this collection is to always be reaching for better feeling thoughts with regards to the situations that are most important to you. Rather than focusing your attention on the lack of something, you always want to be moving toward what it is you want. Look at it this way, does feeling rotten get you anywhere? You might as well reach for thought that will help you feel better rather than dwell upon what you do not like or want. The side effect of being more positive is everything you ever dreamed or hoped for yourself from monetary abundance to relationships to healthy body weight and good health in general.

Today, Friday the 13th of all days, I finally "get it." This could be the luckiest day of my life! I think I have finally moved into the vibrations of positive expectation and knowing. This means that my manifestations are not far off. It's kinda strange to feel and KNOW inside that everything is going to work out the way I want. My affirmations have changed for the positive. I have people at work calling me Suzie Cream Cheese and telling me to shut up because they believe I'm too positive! WOW! What a difference and what a blessing Abraham-Hicks has made in my life. It will be interesting to see what unfolds for me over the next couple of months. I also believe that I can actually HEAR the higher vibration in my ear and I have been able to for the last week!

I wish you much love and success in your lives and I know that you will enjoy listening to Esther as she channels Abraham.

It is fairly difficult to learn only by listening, but these CDs will make a long commute to and from work worthwhile. This set should only be an aid to learning Spanish and I would not recommend it as a single source of learning Spanish. You will have to go through each CD a couple of times to memorize the phrases and vocabulary words. The price makes it affordable.

These cd's use rote memory and repetition to teach. This is the best method I've found for learning a foreign language. The pharses used are of the type that you would use in normal conversation. They do not take a lot of time explaining a lot of abstract consepts and useless history.

This book does a good job of putting music in an overall historical context. For example, it notes how Baroque productions, whether sculpture or music, meant to "fill space." That accounts for elaborate melodies in music, and movement in painting and sculpture.

Music used to be written as much for the mind as the ear. In some vocal pieces, lyrics correspond to melody. For example, if the word "ascending" is used in the song, the notes of the melody also go up. Vice-versa for descending. If the song mentions one person, a single voice is used--three voices come in when three people are in the storyline.

The musical selections are varied and enjoyable to listen to.

I ordered this book/ cd set because it was required text for a college class. It is well organized and clearly written. I especially like the way the listening guides in the book refer to specific portions of songs which are recorded so that the entire work can be played seemlessly in its entirity, or specific portions can be accessed individually.
The only thing this work lacks is impossible for any work that attempts to offer a complete appreciation of music to achieve, complete scope.
I recommend this set.

Yoga Nidra means "Yogic Sleep". It is a deep relaxation in which you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state, and enter into the deep sleep state, while remaining fully awake and alert. This state of awareness is extremely beneficial, both for releasing stress, and for experiencing the joy of subtler spiritual explorations or experiences.

The voice will systematically guide you to explore your physical body, then move through 61 specific points within the body, and then practice ascending breath awareness along the body and spine. Your attention will be brought to the space between the eyebrows, then to the throat, and finally to the heart center, where you will go deep into stillness and silence, beyond the activities of the mind.

Following the custom of the ancient sages, the depth of Yoga Nidra comes from inner awareness of the levels of your own self, including your body, breath, and the subtler mind, rather than diverting attention throuh music or inner fantasies. This inner exploring through self-awareness is a more refined form of meditation that leads you deeper into the stillness and silence of your own being, while remaining fully awake and aware. This grandfather of all people-skills books was first published in 1937. It was an overnight hit, eventually selling 15 million copies. How to Win Friends and Influence People is just as useful today as it was when it was first published, because Dale Carnegie had an understanding of human nature that will never be outdated. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to "the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people." He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Carnegie says you can make someone want to do what you want them to by seeing the situation from the other person's point of view and "arousing in the other person an eager want." You learn how to make people like you, win people over to your way of thinking, and change people without causing offense or arousing resentment. For instance, "let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers," and "talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person."
