A UNIQUE LOOK AT THE LIFE OF OUR SAVIOR AS A CHILD. 4 out of 5 stars.

Anne Rice, famous for books such as "Interview with the Vampire" an "Queen of the Damned," brings her skills to tackle her most challenging work to date: a look at the childhood of our Lord and Savior. "Christ The Lord: Out of Egypt," the first of a planned trilogy, takes a look at Jesus during His seventh and eighth years on this earth, struggling to come to terms with His identity, as well as pondering the special powers He seems to possess, while returning to the family home of Nazareth during a tumultuous time, as rebellion has broken out through Palestine.
For the most part, Rice's novel delivers the goods. It is a fascinating portrait of how Jesus came to learn Who He was, and what His life was meant for. However, there are certain passages that tend to drag at times. Instead of focusing on the life-changing events of the time, Rice gives us details that, while interesting, just drag the plot out. But overall, this is an interesting look at how the Son of God lived at an early age. Christians and non-Christians alike should enjoy "Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt."

Bishop is back. This book returns to the engaging, yet informative style of Bishop Jakes' early books ie. Woman thou art Loosed, 10 Commandments.... If you did not like Reposition Yourself because of all the flowery modifiers and theatrical symbolism, then you'll be happy to read this book. Although the book centers around the decision to choose a mate and draws from his daughters wedding, it provides insight and strategies to making any type of decision i.e. financial, career, family. Bishop encourages people to research before they make a decision. This is an entertaining read and you walk away with better decision making skills.

The Road Less Traveled is one of my favorite books of all time. Scott Peck gives a great perspective on life.
Beginning with the quote "life is difficult".
I have read almost all of Scott Peck's books and think he is amazingly talented.
A MUST read.

I have not read the entire book but I am on a spiritual journey and I found that this book is taking me there.I would love this book on tape which helps me to hear and remember it.I've always said I wanted peace and grace and there is a section on grace which I found that I was looking for. I want to buy the followup book on spiritual growth. I am going to try to find tapes also. The other book is......" Spiritual growth in an age of anxiety", and I think what better time then now,to discuss what is in this book. It is written by a well respected physician.

A must read. A short concise, yet profound inspirational reading. I found in it a summary of my believes and a practical guide to success. I have already bought more than a dozen copies that I have given to family, friends and those in need of hope. I picked up a book from a Der Dutchmann restaurant in Plain City, Ohio and it got me started on these Amish love stories. This book The Longing is one of a series of 3 and is just wonderful! I really never read much until I started reading these books and Beverly Lewis is my favorite author! This book The Longing is sweet, has drama, you learn about the Amish way of life and in these books there is no bad language or anything that would turn you off. I loved this series The Courtship of Nellie Fisher and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes love stories and to read for both enjoyment and to learn about another way of living. Almost makes me wish I could be Amish at times!

This book has been a profound daily devotional for me for 15 + years. I have read it every year. The insights this man of God had are some of the most relevant, authentic, and remarkable devotions I have ever read. I continue to be amazed.

I have been an Oswald Chambers follower for many years. I had been reading a tattered copy that belonged to my dad. For my birthday today I got this copy for my birthday and it is so very special. The leather cover is so soft and beautiful. Two shades of purple and liliac. Soft and comfortable to hold.

The dovotions are still current today. They make you look deep within your heart to what God is saying to you.

Highly recommend.
