This book is for anyone who enjoys eating desserts, cookies, breads etc. who also wants to eat healthy and fit into the same size for years to come. The recipes are easy and wholesome. Try the chocolate chip cookies...that recipe alone makes the book worth buying.

Great little cookbook--has a variety of breads, cakes, muffins, etc., all low fat and most very easy to make. The most important thing is that taste is not sacrificed! Too many low fat desserts have very little taste--these recipes are very good! I am hoping these two authors come out with another book------happy cooking!

I used this as a kid and then kept baking the recipes over and over again through adolescence and then this my young adulthood. I feel stupid reading reminders to use a potholder before I grab a hot baking pan, but lordy these cookies are not only super-easy and quick, but delicious. They will not last around the house, and make great gifts. I remember the chocolate chip cookies, the oatmeal cookies, and the jam fingerprint cookies as especially good.

I bought the book based on the cover. I thought I would also get new decorating ideas but I was wrong. The cookie recipes are just ok.

I was very much looking forward to receiving this book, but was generally disappointed with it. I agree with the reviewer who said the cover was the best part. Many of the cookie decorations were mundane and rather unprofessional looking. This book didn't offer anything innovative or new.

Maida Heatter is my idol! I love to bake, and I have to say that my favorite recipes come from her cookbooks. This cookie book is no exception. If you don't already own it, buy it today! Then, try her recipe for Palm Beach Brownies with Chocolate-Covered Mints. These are to die for. Her biscotti recipes are also wonderful, and as always, her instructions are precise and easy to follow. One of the best parts of all of her cookbooks is the introduction to each recipe. She includes a short description, and very often an anecdote about the origin of the recipe, or of a time she served it. It is as much fun to read a Maida Heatter cookbook as it is to cook from it and taste the finished product (which always get rave reviews when served!).

I am a seasoned baker and find this book to be a decent book to have on the shelf, especially if one is new to baking. If you are not new to baking, some of the tips and suggestions are a little obvious.

Healthy recipes for those whom are carefully watching their diet and details such as calories, protein, carbohydrate, total and saturated fat, colesterol and sodium are listed, for every recipe.

The spiral bound book sits nicely on the counter, front and back covers clean easily and there are lots of fun, some healthy and traditional recipes and tips sprinkled throughout the pages in between.

If your are a new or an experienced baker, you will find many MANY recipes for bar, drop, rolled, pressed, molded and refrigerator cookies are well written and easy to follow and there are many colorful photographs to see most of the finished recipes.

Whenever I'm looking for a cookie recipe, this cookbook is where I start and eventually end! Whether I'm in the mood for bar, drop, or extra special cookies, the sections are set up so I can always find a choice of recipes. I've had this book for years and haven't found a "bad" recipe yet. It's what I give to people for their first cookie cookbook, because the recipes are easy to understand and there's multiple choices, for instance, of kinds of brownies, or oatmeal cookies, or sugar cookies. Storage and shipping tips are included, but good luck keeping the cookies around long enough to do this!

This cookie cook book has a wide variety of cookie & bar flavors, textures & complexity of recipe. The recipies are clear & concise. This is now the only cook book I grab to look for a new recipe to try, or to find a recipe with specific ingredient restrictions. There are basic cookie making tips, as well as suggestions of cookies for specific events (e.g. to mail in care packages, for hostest gifts, etc). A wonderful book.

I love this book. I've had it for so many years, I can't remember NOT useing it. Whenever I find another copy I get it and give to friends and family. This last one I sent to my sister out of state. She loves it as well. Every Christmas I make cookies from this book. The Scandinavian Almond Bars are to die for and so easy to make. A family favorite.

The information contained in this book does not justify the price. With all due respect to the author, these cookie ideas are better suited in pamphlet form given at craft or cake decorating stores. I'm sure the author is qualified. However, with all the competition in the market, I'm afraid this book falls short.

I highly recommend Collette Peters Christmas book which contains breathtaking works of art in both the form of cakes and cookies that the average person can make. If your focus is cookies, Toba Garrett's "Creative Cookies" is the ultimate cookie treasure book!

I was expecting more than the simple decorating ideas this book has offered but I found nothing new in the author's ideas. I am totally disappointed! This book is also overpriced! May be the pictures and the paper made up for the price but the content are not as inspirational as I expected. I gave it a 2 stars because I appreciate the author's confidence in publishing a mediocre decorating book.
