This is the place I turn to for ideas for my children's parties; there are so many wonderful cookies and healthy desserts in this book. We entertain frequently, and there is a snack mix chapter that I use all the time for appetizers. Guests often ask me to make the Mediterranean Munchies and Cowboy Caviar.

An unusual focus on breakfast and brunch Italian dishes points out that the American affection for both Italian food and breakfast can lead to a wonderful combination. From quiches and scones to sweet risotto puddings with fruits and baked polenta, Boungiorno! provides an excellent set of Italian specialties which lend well to brunch. The profusion of color photos peppered throughout are distinctive attractions for the cookbook collector.

Since breakfast is our most important meal of the day this certainly will help a cook prepare fantastic meals for a great start. Being a visual learner, the pictures are works of art! The book contains a wonderful glossary of Italian ingredients, that a cook/shopper could buy at any large grocery store. Don't let the title deceive you - many of the recipes, especially the pasta meals could be served any time of day. As an owner of many cookbooks this has become one of my top favorites! Mangia!

This book has great recipes from Stratas and eggs benedict to french toast and breakfast pastries. There are even some make ahead recipes that can be made the night before (great if you are having company) This book is well laid out, easy to follow and most ingredients are already on hand in your kitchen.

Wake Up the Smell the Coffee has filled my kitchen with such good food for breakfast and just any meal, that I'm constantly jotting down the recipes on demand. While held over for my flight in Seatle, I picked up this gem in the book/gift store at the airport and spent four hours pouring over every page. The food was just as good as it read on the page and I wanted to visit every B&B. The recipes are the favorites of B&Bs all over the Northwest and each recipe has a brief discription of the Inn and a sketch. The index gives addresses and telephone numbers for quick reservations. I have given this book as a gift many times, and for myself, ordered the successive "Wake Up" books for other parts of our country. May it NEVER go out of print.

I have tried many recipes from this book and all of them have been delicious. I take my finished products to my Navajo weaving classes and all the weavers rave about the products! I like the fact that the book has addresses and phone numbers for me to contact the Bed and Breakfasts. Some day, I will have to make a reservation and maybe I can cook with the owner. I also have the book for the Southwest and it too is fantastic! Recipes are simple and delicious.
