Not Much Cookin' Here 1 out of 5 stars.
11 of 12 people found this review helpful.

This is a cute little thing, but if you really want an extraordinary Wizard of Oz cookbook, you'd be better off finding 'Cooking in Oz' by Elaine Willingham and Steve Cox. Loads of pictures and celebrity recipes, info on L. Frank Baum, trivia and great stuff for all of us who love Oz and Baum.

A Neat Little Cookbook 3 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

A neat little cookbook sure to please those who like to collect cookbooks or Oz. Easy to follow recipes named appropriately with the film in mind are studded with excepts from the film.

Editorial Review:

Inspired by the whimsical movie, The Wizard of Oz Cookbook begins with a brief stop in Kansas for some of Aunt Em's heartland breakfast fare and then soars over the rainbow to fantasy food in Oz--Emerald Castle Cake, Wicked Witch's Brew, and Yellow Brickle Brownies, to name a few. 20 illustrations.

Good food, good people 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This cookbook is great to add to your collection. It has down - home cooking that will take you out of the breakfast or brunch doldrums. It has more than breakfast, but all the recipes are mostly simple but taste great. It is enjoying to read about each bed and breakfast and the people that run them. I'm not only getting a cookbook, but also a reference book of christian hospitality to use whenever I might be travelling.

Mmmmmm Good 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is wonderful. It's full of many delicious recipies. I have done two prayer breakfasts and used recipies from this book and everyone raved about the food. Sticky buns and breakfast casserole recipies are fantastic along with many others I have tried. Book was on sale at my bible book store and I bought the last two they had for gifts. Now I need another one. Great book, everyone should buy one.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! 1 out of 5 stars.
22 of 38 people found this review helpful.

...I was so disgusted by this book I felt compelled to warn others.

All of the yeast breads are the same basic recipe. For example, the recipes for Bran Bread, Cinnamon Bread, and Dill Onion Bread differ only in that one has added bran, one has added cinnamon, and one has added dill and onion. I made the Garlic Parmesan Bread using the exact ingredients she lists, no substitutions, and it was one of the foulest tasting and textured foods I've ever put in my mouth. I could not even force myself to finish a full piece of the bread; I felt like I was trying to eat a sponge...P>On a side note, Morris Press Cookbooks really needs to hire a competent copy editor.

Editorial Review:

After completing " Baking Low Carb" I found that a lot of people loved the bread recipe and wanted more of the same so that is how "Bread & Breakfast" came to be developed. Until I started testing recipes, I didn't realized how much I missed having bread for those occasional sandwich meals or for breakfast. I was in heaven when I figured out the Cinnamon Rolls.

This new book contains all new recipes including yeast bread and rolls, quick breads, hot cereal, eggs and pancakes. Some of the recipes included are: Garlic Bread, Wheat Bread, Bran Bread, Cinnamon Bread, Oat Nut Bread, Rhubarb Kuchen, Peachy Cream Cinnamon Rolls, Dinner Rolls, Apple Bran Muffins, Carrot Loaf, Peanut Butter Coffee Cake, Biscuits, Caraway Rye Crackers, Bran Cereal, Mexican Oven Omelet and many more.

Editorial Review:

This guide to Britain's wild foods, first published in 1972, reflects ever increasing ecoawareness and popular interest in finding different, and more natural, sources of food. This book opens up an abundant storehouse of free wild food, of powerful and surprising flavours preserved intact in the wild stock whilst increasingly missing from the bland and pre-packed goods found in shops. Each of the 240 types of fruit, nuts, flowers, seaweed, fungi and shellfish featured has its own field identification notes.

Editorial Review:

A piping-hot stack of buttered pancakes drenched in maple syrup is an all-American image. But the age-old tradition of preparing pancakes comes from countries all around the world-from the crisp lentil patties of Southern India to the buckwheat blini of Russia to the delicate crêpes of France. Pancake recipes range from the savory to the sweet, and over 45 simple yet imaginative variations can be found in Pancakes A to Z by award-winning cookbook author Marie Simmons. Effortlessly perfect food has become the trademark for Bon Appétit and Los Angeles Times Syndicate columnist Marie Simmons. In her 12th book, Pancakes A to Z, she applies her knack for dazzling combinations to the versatile pancake. Marie starts with the basic formula for the all-American pancake and lets her culinary imagination take over from there: adding buttermilk lift; or stirring in sour cream, cottage cheese, applesauce, or yogurt to make the pancakes richer, more tender, sweetly moist or tangy; folding egg whites

A Gorgeous Book of Exotic Recipes 5 out of 5 stars.
8 of 9 people found this review helpful.

This is quite simply a beautiful book of wonderful Moroccan recipes written by a Moroccan-born American. Kitty Morse was born in Casablanca and now is a food and travel writer living in Southern California. Kitty has been returning to her homeland yearly to lead tours-- most recently a chef's tour of her favorite Moroccan restaurants. This book includes traditional Moroccan recipes that have been tailored to allow preparation in an American kitchen. The photography by Deborah Jones is first rate. From cous-cous to harira soup, this book will help those who are not vegetarians realize they're not missing anything

Editorial Review:

Redolent of saffron, ginger, and cinnamon, and vivid with the sun-drenched flavors of fresh fruits, grains, and vegetables, the cuisines of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia are as delicious as they are exotic. More than 80 distinctive vegetarian recipes, a special section on entertaining, and tempting, full-color photographs fill this exciting fourth volume in the popular Vegetarian Table series --a splendid introduction to the sumptuous foods and flavors of North Africa right here at home. This latest volume in the Vegetarian Table series features delectable fare from one of the world's most popular cuisines.

Clever uses for a waffle iron 4 out of 5 stars.
11 of 13 people found this review helpful.

The author has gone to great lengths to make up waffle-able recipies. I really enjoy the carrot-raisin and the oatmeal banana waffles. They freeze wonderfully! Give a copy of this book with a waffle iron to newlyweds!

Absolutely Wonderful! 5 out of 5 stars.
9 of 9 people found this review helpful.

I did not care for waffles until my daughter bought me a waffle iron this past Christmas. So, my search for recipes (I never made them before) began. I found Ms. Greenspan's recipe for Spicy Ricotta Waffles on the the foodtv.com site and they were so delicious that I looked up info on the book on Amazon. Thank goodness! The author covers all areas, from appetizers to desserts. She also includes dips, spreads, oils, etc. Delicious recipes. As another reviewer noted, yes, give this cookbook with a waffle iron to newlyweds, but also to any and everyone who likes waffles. I love this book! You can even make toasted cheese sandwiches in your waffle iron - did you know that? I didn't!!
