The book itself is beautiful- I love the photography throughout- but, unfortunately, most of the recipes aren't a hit with me. It's (obviously) a vegetarian cookbook, but I guess I was hoping it would contain more vegan recipes (or recipes that could easily be veganized). Because I am vegan, I personally don't find it to be very useful. A friend of mine who recently became vegetarian has this book and does like several of the recipes in it, so I can see the usefulness for someone who chooses to eat eggs/dairy. To be fair, I have only tried a small handful of the recipes (the ones that are vegan or veganizable), so my disappointment is based more on the fact that it wasn't what I expected it to be.

While it was vegan ultra-runner Scott Jurek who convinced me to change my diet, about 6 months later a friend recommended this book to me, and for the most part it's this man and this book that have convinced me plant-based nutrition is the future.

In answering a question for me that I submitted on his website, John Robbins led me to Vegsource and the rest of the gang. While it took a little time for a response to my question, when I did receive it, it came directly from John Robbins. I was quite surprised by this, and felt that I shouldn't "needlessly" bother him again, even with a thank you.

My wife was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2001 and succumbed to her cancer in March 2005. I only discovered Bill's first book six months before she died and had multiple conversations with him at the time. He was compassionate and patient and knowledgeable.

This book builds on his first one and is the best book on the market in terms of letting the reader know about the causes of cancer, why the pharma industry fights non-toxic approaches and what resources and approaches are available to the layperson who is struggling with cancer or is the caregiver.

I wish I had known about these approaches earlier. I have myself begun to research the role of sound vibrations in healing and have just released a healing chant called The Magic of Gayatri.

Kudos to Bill Henderson for putting this valuable resource together!
