I am an avid collector of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. I have all 9 volumes of the Christmas series and enjoy and still use everyone of them. This book is full of imaginative gift ideas. The recipes are easy to follow and yummy in your tummy!!! It would also make a great gift for anyone who enjoys baking and decorating with homemade craft ideas.

I bought this book so I can find ideas for my wedding decoration, it has great and beautiful pictures, but obviously it's impossible to try to imitate Preston Bailey's ideas. I do recommend this book. You can use it afterwards for a coffee table book.

Face it, every other cocktail book is pretty much a rehash of Bartender's Friend or similar. Same stock drinks, maybe with some engaging commentary or history of where, say, the Cosmo, was invented and by whom.

This is a whole different approach, by a man who is arguably the most passionate and creative bartender alive, who honed his craft working at one of the top restaurants in the United States (Cyrus). If you're looking for The Resource on how to finally get your drink quality to match that of your food, this is it. Slow Food fans rejoice, you've found the book to complete your culinary library.

I imagine I'll be picking up more than a few for Xmas for my serious foodie friends.

Of all the cookbooks I got this year for Christmas (they're my favorite holiday gift, even over jewelry), this was my most treasured. As a relocated Texan now living in NY, I was worried this would dissapoint and/or embarrass with a wrong impression of good Texas cooking. Nope. It's great.

I've fallen asleep with it in my lap several nights already!
