This one was okay, but I was not too impressed because it was a 2003 edition. Some good recipes included and that helped.

As always, Bon Appetit offers up recipes that are well-written and delicious. The scope of this book isn't limited to Christmas. If covers the whole holiday season - Thanksgiving to New Years. There are wonderful menus for entertaining in a variety of settings and many supplemental recipes. There is also a section on treats to make for gifts. Unfortunately, there are not many photographs in this book. Especially in a holiday cookbook, pictures are indispensible. As good as a recipe for a special Christmas cookie may be, I want to SEE what the finished product looks like, especially if I'm thinking about giving them as gifts.

If you love the holiday season from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day, then you will love this cookbook. It is bursting with the best-of-the-season recipes and you can choose between casual or elegant fare. If you want to plan a Christmas Cocktail Party or host a Tree-Trimming Buffet for 16...they have it all organized.

There are 170 recipes, 10 holiday parties and 100 color photographs which look just as good as the cover! Now that cover alone should sell this cookbook. A piece of cake dripping in ganache, I mean really! How can we all resist. I think you will enjoy taking this cookbook out in early November and keeping it open until January. There are so many scrumptious ideas and recipes. I mean, who ever thought of stained glass cookie ornaments or a honey-brined turkey. Their New Year's Eve menu includes Phyllo-wrapped Salmon with Leeks and Red Bell Peppers with Parsley Rice Pilaf.

If you are still thinking about New Year's Day Brunch, a Yuletide Dessert Party or just making a Buche de Noel for the first time, this is a good book to find lots of advice. You can learn how to decorate a mantle, created a seasonal centerpiece, pack and mail cookies or even make homemade candies.

This is not only a feast for the eyes, but a real "feast" cookbook. Everything is so elegantly presented. You will be very impressed.

This book is full of inspiring decorations and recipes. Several decorative ideas/creations would be easy for children to do and yet still be appealing to adults. There are decorative ideas that would be approprate for the "country" look or a more "formal" atmosphere. I think it's great!

This book has ideas for crafters of all tastes. The projects in this book range anywhere from victorian to country. Although this book doesn't stand-out as a favorite among my collection of craft books, it is well organized with nice pictures of all the completed projects. If it wasn't for all the clever ideas in the children's chapter (and a few good dessert recipes too), I probably would not keep this book.

Impressive to find in one book so many different, easy to make and fun to do, ideas. My children had fun making the painted shirts. Continue with books this fun. Hope you introduce Leisure Arts for The Spirit of Halloween too!!!!

I am a huge fan of Mary Engelbreit, and have a love for innovative, fun cookbooks. This book was a perfect combination of fun food and colorful, Engelbreit illustrations.

The recipes in the book are divided into 5 categories. They include: Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Main Courses, Vegetables and Side Dishes, and Desserts and Beverages. Included for most recipes is a beautiful, full page, color photograph along with a serving dish idea. The only 2 things missing in this addition are a spiral binding (although the book lays flatter than most hardcover cookbooks), and nutrient information for each recipe.

Some of my family's favorites include: Walnut & Port Cheddar Spread, Rosy Applesauce with Crispy Latkes, Tomato & Rice Shrimp Bisque, Traditional Holiday Seafood Salad, Brine Roasted Turkey, Mediterranean Filet Mignon, Rosemary-Rubbed Roasted Ham, Ginger-Sautéed Baby Carrots, Maple-Glazed Sweet Potatoes, and Sugar-Dusted Sweet Apple Fritters.

This is a beautiful book. Not only does it have illustrations of a Victorian Christmas, it also has the lyrics to twenty one different Christmas carols.

This is an excellent book for anyone who loves beautiful illustrations, or is looking for a small book featuring the lyrics to some of the most loved Christmas carols.

Holiday Recipes From Breakfast to Late Snacks--Must Try!! 5 out of 5 stars.

I first checked this book out from the local library and picked out a few recipes to try for Thanksgiving prior to the Christmas holiday parties. I also took it to my mother for her to look at. She began writing down page numbers of recipes she want copies of too. After trying several of the recipes, which for the most part, were very easy, I decided I wanted this book in my home for year round entertaining. The craft and decorating ideas are also wonderful. I especially liked the tomato cage Christmas trees. It was simple to make and when I showed my friends they couldn't believe it--you have to see the pictures in the book to appreciate how simple and elegant they are and so inexpensive to make. For your holiday entertaining I strongly recommend this beautiful book.

I treated myself to "Colette's Christmas" by baker extraordinaire Colette Peters while on vacation. It seemed a strange thing to read while at the beach, but I was absolutely captivated. What a fevered imagination Ms. Peters has! The showstoppingly gorgeous desserts and projects she shows within include a layer cake covered with fondant that has been pieced and quilted to resemble and antique quilt (and it surely does); a chocolate bowl filled to overflowing with spectacular chocolate spheres (the cover photograph); hinged, jointed cookies which really move and make splendid Christmas ornaments (all in human forms, like Santa, Raggedy Ann, and so on); gift boxes made entirely of decorated cookie dough; a shimmering "stained glass" cake; and a three-dimensional Christmas gazebo constructed around a towering decorated Christmas tree made of piped icing.

Even if the projects herein appear way too complicated or time-consuming for most people--as they do for me, I'll admit--Ms. Peters gives splendidly clear, concise directions in a conversational tone that make starting your own gingerbread house seem, somehow, not as daunting as it really should be.
