This is a wonderful cookbook full of cookie recipes, some of which a unique. It also contains little tidbits about Christmas ideas!

I am new to Santa Fe and bought this book to learn about some of the beautiful traditions here. It exceeded my expectations with lovely photographs and detailed explanations of many traditions you would expect from this wonderful city. I especially enjoyed the recipes! If you live in Santa Fe or dream of living here like I have for many years, this is a must have!

Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed all of Ruby Ann Boxcar's books, but this one I ended up reading twice already and I just got it at the first of the month. She is one of the funniest writers in today's market and she even exceeds that if possible with Move Over Santa. This is a must regardless of who you are. And the photos are as funny as the writing. Thanks Ruby Ann for another winner.

I found the doughs to be difficult to work with (they were very dry and crumbly, hard to roll out, etc...) and I took extra care to follow the recipe exactly. When it comes to holiday cookie making, I like it to be simple and straight forward. I do not want to start adjusting recipe's as I only do this once a year, so for me this book did not work.

I was also disappointed in the photo's. You never really got a clear look at what the cookie should look like, as they tended to blur the photo slightly (nice effect, but not in a cookbook!). They also did not always tell you how to decorate the cookie like it appeared in the picture (snowman cookies).
