This book is always out...everything I've made has been delicious and it has so many different recipes for non-meat foods. As a non-veg, I generally substitute chicken stock for vegetable stock and use the tofu marinades for chicken or fish. This book is a great inspiration for diversifying our meals. I recommend it to everyone I know!

I have a bunch of recipe books for baby/toddler food, but this one is my favorite. I've made about 10 recipes from the book and each one is easy to make, healthy and delicious. Most of the recipes are great for the whole family - not just toddlers, and I love that she emphasizes the value of organic food. I'm ordering another copy now to give as a gift.

I usually don't bother writing reviews, because most likely anything I have to say, someone else has already said it. That may be true, but I have to add one more glowing review! I have had this cookbook for a few years now, and it has been my most coveted possession. I have since graduated, but this book comes with me fr every move, and survives every purge session.

The recipes ALWAYS turn out, and I love that they have the nutrition information right there, easy to see. The greatest thing, is that no matter how bare my cupboards, I can always find a recipe in here that I can use or easily adapt! Just last night, I had pasta (but no sauce), garlic, canned green beans, tofu and peanut butter. Any yet, I made a complete meal! And it was delicious!

I've never been great in the kitchen, but these recipes are easy, quick, cheap and require few ingredients. And, to top it off, they taste great. Yum!

In April 2003 Patt Levine underwent "Lap-Band" gastric surgery, one of the primary bariatric surgeries being widely practiced today. As a lifelong foodie, she was expecting the worst when her surgeon's nutritionist handed her dietary guidelines to follow post-surgery, and she was right. With her decades of cooking skills, she immediately set out to devise low-fat dishes that would be just as delicious pureed and chopped as they would be served whole. As an added problem, she wanted to cook for her husband at the same time. This first-ever cookbook for the hundreds of thousands who are lining up for bariatric bypass surgery is proof that it can be done. I have at least four other raw food cookbooks. The recipes in them always have a thousand ingredients and take forever to produce. I wind up not using them because of the exotic ingredients or the time it takes to make the food. Soaking, cutting, blending, juicing, dehydrating, all in one recipe usually!

This book uses simple, available ingredients and a minimum of time to prepare. I can usually prepare a dish from what's already in my house, which if you've used any other book, is usually impossible. Yes you might need to blend something and then dehydrate it, but you probably didn't have to soak it and juice it and hang it somewhere first.

The other thing I really like about the book is that if you use their recipes for salad dressings, for example, you are not just adding flavor, but you are also adding nutritional content. It's all very well thought-out. It's a lovely little book that I recommend to anyone who is interested in making simple, elegant raw food dishes that taste great.
