Interesting 4 out of 5 stars.

This was a fairly good book, revealing much about Sasha's origins and Tigerstar's time in ShadowClan. Sasha is much more meek than how she is portrayed in the TNP series, and her feelings for Tigerstar and her reasonings for wanting to be with him are explained. The story is told from her vantage point, up to the end where we are left waiting for the next book. It is admittedly overshadowed by the great Eclipse, (properly named) which has brought back Warriors fans everywhere, but the art is good, and I am left anticipating the next book, which promises even more. The book is slightly overpriced for one of it's size, and the fact that it is not an actual novel, but I do recommend that you read this one.

Editorial Review:

Sasha has everything she wants: kind housefolk who take care of her during the day and the freedom to explore the woods beyond Twolegplace at night. But when Sasha is forced to leave her home, she must forge a solitary new life in the forest. Life on her own is exciting at first but quickly gets lonely. When Sasha meets Tigerstar, leader of ShadowClan, she wonders whether she would be better off joining the ranks of his forest Clan. But Tigerstar has many secrets, and Sasha must decide whether she can trust him.

Justice is served - a great read! 5 out of 5 stars.

Being a big fan of the Ace Attorney series, I was excited about the manga. I at first thought it was going to be a big, manga-ized novelization of the first three games. While that would be cool, I was then worried as to whether or not it stuck with the game's storyline.

And it didn't.

In fact, as I started reading it, I soon realize that it was an anthology of some sort of different cases and situations with our favorite characters, Phoenix, Maya, Edgeworth et al. That's something I've never seen a franchise do before and quite frankly, it's awesome. It's better than reading fanfics. A few of the cases were quite interesting, but left me in disappointment because they were so short. There were some where the art looked pretty bad but the stories made up for them and then neither the art nor the story were good at all.

There are 20 stories by different manga-kas which will keep you occupied when you're on the bus/train, etc.

I felt refreshed after reading this manga as this is probably the only franchise so far that came up with something this cool. Some franchises should follow this example.

I recommend this to everyone, including those who are new to Ace Attorney. You won't be disappointed.

Loveeeddddd IT! 5 out of 5 stars.

Okay so let me say, there's much less sex in this one - but that doesn't mean it isn't good! Believe me, this one is wonderful and will have you begging for the third one!
Okay so Vald, Havi and the Bunny looking creature (his name slipped my mind right now, sowwy) are off of course in search of a way to break Vald's curse.
They meet this wandering guy and feeds him for the night even though Havi thinks it's a bad idea. He ends up stealing all of Havi's stuff lol. They go in search of him and find that he lives in a Kingdom that is currently being attacked by Demons. (The wanderer is in prison, lol) So Havi and Vald are fighting the demons. The cute little bunny guy following Havi around.
Vald starts bearing those familiar stripes so Havi takes him to a private spot and tells him that he looks like a demon now. Vald doesn't know how to get his body to calm down so Havi kisses him. Sadly Vald gets really upset and pushes him away and wants nothing to do with him and runs off.
And of course the funny bunny guy is like "De-nied" :P lol. Somehow even the most stressful situations he can find humor in. Weirdo. (But his human form is definitely a cutie!)
Then this Sorcerer guy who is looking for Vald captures Havi and erases his memory of Vald and now Havi serves him. :( Pooor Vald!
So Vald gets the prisoner wanderer and the bunny guy, AND Havi's old school friend who was in search of Havi just to kill him (nothing personal of course lol). They all go in search of Havi. Needless to say Vald is then captured by the Sorcerer guy and tortured - sexually - in front of Havi, who doesn't care at all...Poooor Vald. But the whole time Havi is thinking he is missing something - sharp fangs, sharp nails, biting kiss, stripes? He just can't figure out what it could possibly be.
He comes in to the Prisoner's cell (Vald) and sees him in his demon form, he walks closer and Vald is against the bars, he holds out his hand and Vald scratches him and then licks up the blood off his hand! And he's a little cautious but then thinks "Is this what I'm missing?" and he leans forward and kisses him on the lips. Meeeow!
BUT the evil sorcerer guy is watching from the dark corner of the room - ugh - can you say voyer? Yuck.
And he tells his Master that things have been compromised however his Master says that it's alright and that they can play off of Havi and Vald's sexual relationship now. And then you see the Master's form currently - and like OMG. But I won't spoil THAT part for you. So read the book and see who it is!!!!
LOVED THIS BOOK, CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXXXXT!

Wonderful! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a wonderful book! I loved how this story shows how being "chosen" isn't always based on being the strongest, but maybe for some special inner quality that only God can see. The main characters have their faults, which make then easy to identify with, but it's so great to see them begin to grow and develop their strengths. This series is a must read for anyone who enjoyed the Circle Trilogy, especially as it gives more understanding of life in the forests there.

Editorial Review:

A new YA graphic novel that returns to the universe of Ted Dekker's 600,000-selling Circle Trilogy.

Chosen - The land of the Forest Dwellers has been decimated by the Horde, and Thomas Hunter is forced to lower the recruitment age of his army. From among thousands, four new recruits are chosen to lead--and perhaps die--for the greater good. But their first mission takes a turn when they are intercepted and given a new assignment. Now they must find the seven lost Books of History. Books that control not only the destiny of their world . . . but also of ours.

Fast-paced and compelling 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

In this second installment of Ted Dekker's action-fantasy series, The Lost Books, all four main characters --- Johnis, Silvie, Billos and Darsal --- are immediately thrust back into active combat after their celebratory evening. Johnis can't get his mind off the fact that the recovered ring signifies that his mother is still alive. But just how is she living? As a slave? Is she a Horde now? Under what conditions will he find her? Obsessed by this newfound knowledge, Johnis and Silvie sneak out of the city, taking their lives into their own hands and following Johnis's heart instead of his head.

Clearly, Johnis wants to rescue his mother, but there is opposition from both inside his ranks and outside. And complications. The power of the book is also another mystery and a compelling one; when someone touches the book after spilling his blood, something otherworldly and intense takes place. But where does this power come from? Is it a tool of Elyon or of Teelah?

After battling their way into the enemy city with the help of a small Horde girl, Johnis and Silvie do find his mother, but they also become victim to a bigger plot and are trapped. Johnis is given an ultimatum --- either agree to help the Horde find and abduct Thomas Hunter, or they will kill both his mother and Silvie. Johnis's heart is wrenched in two as he tries to wriggle his way out of this no-win situation.

Martyn, the Horde general, outlines the entire scheme to Johnis right down to the lies he would tell to lure Thomas into the trap. With more bravado than he feels, Johnis approaches Thomas and sets the ambush. A forest guard warrior turned traitor, Justin of Southern, with whom the Horde knows Thomas cannot resist meeting, is the bait. Johnis spins a story that Thomas is to meet with Justin in Red Valley as soon as possible. The Horde knows Thomas's interest will be piqued and they're right; plying him with lie after lie, Johnis lures the commander into the desert before abandoning him without horse or water. Riding away, convicted and ashamed, Johnis tries to convince himself that he had just acted on behalf of his mother and Silvie. But thoughts of a stunned Thomas stranded without aid won't leave his mind.

Thankfully, despite his many and frequent mistakes, others step in and assist Johnis, offering both real help and needed mercy before the final stage is set. As the "chosen" one, Johnis learns a great deal about following his heart, using his head, and listening to the counsel of his fellow warriors and friends. With lightning speed action, Ted Dekker delivers another energizing tale that will have readers of this series impatient for its next compelling segment. But as they wait, the multi-leveled plot and theological repercussions will keep fans mulling the storyline over and over.

Ready for Volume 6! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

You'd think that by volume 5 I'd be used to Matsuri Hino's gorgeous artwork. Every time I open the next installment of Vampire Knight, it's like I'm seeing the art again for the first time. Vampire Knight Volume 5 is pure eye-candy all the way through.

This is one of the most exciting volumes in the series and it leaves you yearning for the next volume right after you're finished. I bought this book yesterday in Borders but wasn't ready to dig in yet when I woke up this morning as I had other things that I needed to do first. But I couldn't resist reaching over to where it sat on my dresser so that I could simply thumb through and peek at the gorgeous drawings. I made the mistake of looking at page 1 and started reading... and couldn't stop. This one is a page-turner!

Some questions are answered in this volume but a whole lot more are introduced. What we suspected all along is finally very touchingly revealed in the last pages of this volume, but you're also left heartbroken because there is no guarantee that it will ever see fruition.

And what will become of Zero? Time will tell. One of our heros gets what he wants, but not in the way that he wanted, so it's hard to say whether he truly did or not.

Shojo Beat/Viz can't churn these volumes out fast enough. Take your time reading this volume because you will be sad when you turn the last page and realize that you have to wait quite a bit for Volume 6!

This particular issue was quite enjoyable for the depictions of fantasy ninja combat between the Puppeteer masters along with the significant character development within the story. Art was above average within this ongoing series.

Editorial Review:

Scott McCloud tore down the wall between high and low culture in 1993 with Understanding Comics, a massive comic book about comics, linking the medium to such diverse fields as media theory, movie criticism, and web design. In Reinventing Comics, McCloud took this to the next level, charting twelve different revolutions in how comics are generated, read, and perceived today. Now, in Making Comics, McCloud focuses his analysis on the art form itself, exploring the creation of comics, from the broadest principles to the sharpest details (like how to accentuate a character's facial muscles in order to form the emotion of disgust rather than the emotion of surprise.) And he does all of it in his inimitable voice and through his cartoon stand–in narrator, mixing dry humor and legitimate instruction. McCloud shows his reader how to master the human condition through word and image in a brilliantly minimalistic way. Comic book devotees as well as the most uninitiated will marvel at this journey into a once–underappreciated art form.
