This is a great book. I think every chess player should get as much information as possible on chess. Thats what I think. I've been playing for a long time. But slacked off a bit. So I recently got back into it. I play every day on my computer. And lose the majority of the time. Out of about 2,3oo games I won a little over 500. So I got a little tired of that and said to myself that you shoul get a couple of books. Thats why I purchased this book. I'm still reading it but It's helping me out.

This is the BEST Crossword Dictionary by far. Had one that was so dog-earred and torn was literally falling apart. Had purchased a dozen other crossword dictionarys but none measured up to this one. Went on line and found it... EXCELLENT PURCHASE and so excited to have a new one.

I learned more about how to play no-limit hold'em tournaments from this exercise than the previous 10 books on the subject. The examples are clear and very well explained. The options are examined at every step and eliminated logically. One should probably have read his first 2 books before taking this test if you want to ace it.

I had so much fun going through this book that I wish it never ended. You'll thoroughly enjoy testing your poker thinking against Harringtons extremely indepth comments. I've obviously read both of the other books but being forced to really think (in order to score points) is EXTREMELY helpful towards actually LEARNING the subject matter. If you enjoyed the first two. Buy this! If you dont have the first two, buy them, then buy this. Just do yourself a favour, study up and then attack this but write down all your answers to all the questions and number them (There's actually a score sheet in the back of the book). After I had gone through it I realised there is a section that categorises all of the errors you made so you can see where your game needs the most improvement but my answers were actually strewn about on bits of scrap paper so I couldn't make use of it...:S There's one or two questions where you might find yourself hard done by with Harrington not awarding points for what you may consider very reasonable plays but these are few and far between. For the most part he's pretty much spot on in his commentary.

I'm a peer facilitator, and this is definitely the best group activity book that I've used. I've always gotten the best response from the activities in this book...they seem to be the most fun for the kids to do, while still teaching important lessons. The book is also very easy to read and understand.

My fellow Peer facilitators and I have about 25 different activity books to choose from, and this is always the one that we each try to grab every week before anyone else gets to it!

This book is pretty bad. It has a few useful tidbits of info if you are willing to wade through pages and pages of filler material. I strongly suggest anyone considering purchase go to a bookstore and examine the book first. Here are some things you will find:

1. Look at the print - it's practically double-spaced.

2. It's filled with unnecessary full-page photos. For example, look at page 168, where a full-page photo shows what whistling looks like.

3. It reuses photos. Look at pages 34 and 87. Notice anything? Entire page taken up with exactly the same photos. The captions are slightly different, but basically say the same thing.

4. It reuses content. Everything is repeated over and over and over again. There are countless examples of this throughout the book.

5. The writing is very long-winded. Open to any random page and read a few lines and you'll see what I mean. Here's an example: pages 133 to 137 describe a single tell called a tongue-jut, including a full-page photo to show what it looks like. Here's what those 5 pages say: if a player flicks his tongue between his teeth for a second, he feels like he got away with something. That's it. 5 pages.

6. The Phil Hellmuth anecdotes are self-promoting, uninteresting and basically useless to the reader. Is anyone surprised by this? To see what I mean, flip through the book and read any section with a gray background. For example, on page 137, Phil begins a 3-page story about how great he was at reading Howard Lederer in a certain hand.

And so on...

The cover of the book tells us that Joe Navarro wrote the book with Marvin Karlins, but it's presented by Phil Hellmuth. What this means is: Joe wrote up everything he could think of and only came out with about 10 pages of actual content. They hired Marvin to spread that out to a full book, but still came up short. So they added Phil Hellmuth to give his endorsement and write a bunch of anecdotes to stretch the story even more. Finally, they threw in a bunch of photos to get up to about 200 pages, still a minimal length for a reference book on poker.

Don't take my word on this - go to a bookstore and look for yourself.

p.s. I'm not a huge fan of Mike Caro's book either. It's just so old. There definitely is a need for a modern, well-written book about poker tells. Anyone have any ideas?

This is the third time I have bought this exact book, so that should tell you how much I like it. There are 100 puzzles for each level of difficulty for a total of 400 puzzles. Great quality paper, easy-to-use spiral binder.

I have to say this is a great little book. I love the fact that it is spiral bound, plus the high-quality paper it is written on is great for erasures. I recently ordered about five sudoku books from Amazon and this is, by far, my favorite. Love Will's books.

Even as a mother I can get into Star Wars, Bionicles, dinosaurs, and other hobbies of my 7-year old son, however, I can't say that I enjoy Pokemon. But noone can deny that the over the decade-old Pokemon craze is here to stay as witnessed by the phenomenal success of Diamond and Pearl. My son refers to this book like a bible and Pokemon Diamond is the only DS game that he hasn't grown tired of even though he's had it almost a year.

At first when I bought this I thought it was going to just sit around, but as my son played through Pokemon Diamond he started referring to it more and more. The best description of it now is "very worn".

The fact that every pokemon is listed along with where it can be obtained is its best selling point. The book is really geared for after you've completed the game portion and are working on "catching them all".

You could probably find all of the information in this book online, but not in one location. Having it there to refer to while playing is easily worth the cost.
