The Best Blue Dragon Resource 5 out of 5 stars.

Prima games has not always produced guides that would rank high on my personal favorites list. Especially in the RPG department. But every now and then you get a good guide, and Blue Dragon is a good guide. It's filled to the brim with details. Just about everything you wanted to know about Blue Dragon is here.

The guide begins by introducing you to the characters, where it gives them a standard bio. It'll also introduce you to your enemies. It then jumps into the Game Basics where you'll basically learn about the games system. Just about everything you need is here. You'll learn about the complexities of the game system, achievement, battle skills. Just about everything. It's exhaustive, but it helps.

The game then jumps into the Shadow Classes where it'll tell you all kinds of things. Under each class they give you a description, list out all the abilities and give you tips on just which skills you might want to learn. This is followed up by a list of all the spells obtainable under each class. After this the guide finally jumps into the walkthrough.

The walkthrough is huge. The walkthrough is divided first by disc, and then by quests that you'll undergo on each disc. Each quest will list off five "milestones" you have to do. The walkthrough then proceeds to help you through each and every one of those milestones detailing just how to go about your business. The walkthrough is very well organized, with some big, gorgeous screenshots (taken in widescreen) to help you out. There's also plenty of artwork to enjoy as you flip through the guides pages.

The maps are detailed, with an items list to accompany each one. The walkthrough also calls out new enemies as you encounter them, but they don't exactly provide an enemy list for each area. Achievements are called out and they'll tell you how to get them. Their boss strategies, while not perfect, are helpful enough, and the guide typically warns you when you're running into danger.

The walkthrough is overall, extremely detailed and well laid out. The screenshots are extremely detailed and clear. Some parts of the walkthrough are even written with a sense of humor. After the final boss there's a section dedicated to some of the optional stuff. Another something worth checking out if you're out to master the game.

The guide then moves on into the extras chapter. This is mostly full of appendices. It begins with the achievements appendix by listing off all the achievements and telling you how many points you'll get for them. Again, another section that's pretty detailed and exhaustive. Especially because there are quite a few achievements. The next appendix is the barriers, showing you where all those trapped treasure chests are.

Afterwards the guide moves on into the real appendices. Stuff like the items list. Items, weapons, armor, accessories. It's all here. This is followed up by the monsters section. This section is not done in alphabetical order but by the monster's number, which is pretty much set up by family. More than likely you won't need the monsters list, but if you do there's no index or anything to help you locate the monster you're looking for.

After all these huge sections the developers of the guide end of with showing you an art gallery. It's all beautiful artwork, but probably not a section you'll find yourself completely immersed in. There's enough fan art throughout the guide as it is.

If you need help with Blue Dragon, this is definitely a good guide to look to. It has just about everything you need and then some. A well organized guide that won't have you flipping pages like a madman because you can't find something. This is the all around perfect guide for Blue Dragon.

An Extended Manual to a great game 5 out of 5 stars.

Now here's an extended manual we can all love.

Prima has always been very classy about their guides, even including a few shakey no-no's(initial guide's were not binded very well) they've always managed to put their own personal touches into certain guides, as if to let us now that this is one they enjoyed playing immensely.

Though it does NOT include the Shivering Isle's strategy this is STILL a great purchase for those picking up the game. One of the few guides that help in varying approaches to enemies and bosses.

Another GREAT Pokemon sticker book! 5 out of 5 stars.

Another outstanding sticker book from DK! While not as good a resource as the DK Diamond & Pearl sticker book, this one is still loaded with information and tons of stickers. EVERY Pokemon, from the first season to now, is represented with a sticker, element, height, weight, and a short description. There are 24 full pages of stickers, most about 2 by 2" in size, enough to keep your little Poke-fan busy for hours!

My only complaint is that the Pokemon are grouped by the region in which they first appeared (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh), so it's not easy to find the particularly Pokemon you're looking for... unless you are a 6-year old fan, in which case you'll naturally remember where they all live anyway! Overall, still a great gift for the Pokemon fan.

While the material in the guide is very excellent, the print is quite small at least to me. In Fact, I would have no problem paying a bit more for the guide if the print was larger. I would've liked to see maps for the cyberspace items as well.

Still, all in all a good guide for the game.

This book never claims to be a definitive guide to AI, but it does promise to give you the techniques used in game AI today.

It delivers on its promise with the best bottom-up approach to learning I have not seen in a long time. If you are new to game AI, as I was, you need to get this book, and his other game AI installment, "AI Techniques for Game Programming." They are completely complimentary and barely overlap.

This is the first book to get, however. You can get to being productive in AI right away. [...]

This is a truely great book on AI programming. It does what the title says, as it teaches many concepts and then provides actual code, which is great.

This book explains AI so well!

I Saw another user comment "this book is so simple, my 10 year old son is writing state machines!" or something like that, i'm under 13 and i was able to read the state machine chapter, and then actually write my own =)

I'd reccomend this book 100% to anyone beginning in AI programming.

What a letdown 1 out of 5 stars.

The first two in this series weren't bad considering they were tie ins to a pc game. This fizzles out after some unnecessary drawn out filler never advancing the story, then the weakest battle scene in entire trilogy quickly resolved and pffttt it's over.

If you play Sims then consider adding this game.Freetime is a great way to keep your Sims happy and entertained.There are some surprises that are amusing.If you have never added a pack to your Sims this one would be a great addition! It takes a bit of time to see your Sim get to the max,but it is worth it!!!

Great art book, poor strategy guide...still worth it! 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is a nice visual companion to the Playstation 3 game, Heavenly Sword. In fact, being an artist myself, I enjoyed the book mostly for its spectacular concept art, character design (Kai! Kai! Kai!) and paintings. Very nice indeed. As far as a strategy guide goes...it's pretty poor. It actually gets some things just plain wrong (YIKES!). But as a quick fingertip reference guide, it is still satisfactory. If you want a detailed "how-to", then the internet is a much better source. In fact, if you're really stuck, just go to Google or Yahoo and type exactly what you want to know and you'll proablly find it. Example, I had the hardest time in the boss battle vs. Flying Fox, so I just Googled, "heavenly sword+flying fox boss battle" and found three great walkthroughs which helped me defeat him (some even with videos showing exactly what to do).

In comparison, this strategy guide offers only the bare minimum, and worst of all - omits ACTUAL STRATEGY! To me the book seems little more than an outline or overview of the game, rather than a complete walkthrough, which is what I wanted for my $16.49. The online guides offer more first hand experience from gamers and a variety of different techniques to try out according to your style of play. In fact, this book tells you things about the game that simply are not true and has almost zero insight. But amazingly enough, if you're a fan of the game like me, the book is totally worth it for the artwork alone and as a general keepsake for what is one of the best games currently available for the PS3. So in closing, if you're a student of character design and concept art, get this guide because it has really great artwork. If you just want the no-nonsense tips and tricks, save your money and download one of the various walkthroughs from the internet.
