More corn then Oklahoma, shows the heart of the man 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is more helpful then some of my fellow reviews suggest, as it reflects greatly on who Asimov the man actually was.

He was an unrepentant sexist, as many men of his generation were. He was arrogant, as many successful men are. He was self centred, as most of us are.

However, through this book you can see the pain of the failure of his first marriage and his love for his second wife and daughter. You can see many of the people he liked.

Sure some of it is unfunny, some of it is just plain crude and some of it is rambling. I liked it and return to it every couple of years.

One reason I did like it was it showed how autobiographical much of Asimov's other writings were. If you cross check some of the Foundation series, you can see a reflection in Issac's own life at the time of writing. This makes this volume a worthy addition for any Issac-ophile.

Not only unfunny but embarassing 1 out of 5 stars.

Isaac Asimov was one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time, but this book showed that there was a limit to even his talents. Most of the "jokes" are (a) not his; (b) not funny; (c) corny; and (d) sexually boring and/or gross. I was astonished that this was published in the 90's. It was so dated, I thought (before I checked the copyright notice) that it was published in the '70's and was supposed to be "shocking."

Put this down and reread the Foundation series!

"Bill Cosby on Fatherhood" makes a great gift to Dad, whether it be for Father's Day, Christmas (makes a perfect stocking stuffer), Birthday, or any special occasion! Bill Cosby is great in describing Fatherhood memories, of when he was a child, and when he was a father. If you're in the mood for a chuckle, whether you're a Father or not, this is a great little book. I recommend.

From witty to thought-provoking, this little book has all the quotes daddies need to make them feel good about their new role :) Would make a great stocking stuffer or an addition to a Father's Day gift. Excellent for new dads.

"The Dozens" 101 5 out of 5 stars.

"Snapping" is a form of "playing the dozens" which derives from the rich oral history of blacks in America. It's a verbal contest in which two opponents hurl all kinds of insults at each other, the object being to see which one can beat down the other without either of them losing their cool or resorting to physical violence. It does not mean cursing the opponent out; in fact, the most effective snaps, or insults, involve no profanity at all. Percelay, Dweck and Ivey have compiled hundreds of snaps from sources all over the black community and organized them into categories (fat snaps, skinny snaps, stupid snaps, ugly snaps, color snaps... well, you get the idea). A few examples: "Your mother's so fat, she has her own area code" or "Your mother's so fat, when I got on top of her my ears popped" (which is, in effect, a double snap -- she's not only obese, she's a lady of ill repute); or "Your father's so dumb, he leaves his fly open in case he has to count to eleven", or "You were so ugly when you were born, the doctor slapped your mother instead of you." "Snaps" is hilarious and will have you laughing out loud, as well as appreciating the razor-sharp wit of whoever dreamed some of these gems up. ...as i say, its a nice book with some great images. The only thing that bugged me was that I have seen better images on the net from comics than what was in the pages of this book. At the start of each chapter there are thumbnails of characters from numerous styles and comics, but in the chapters these images arnt inside...i thought they would at least put the larger whole images of those in the thumbnails in the chapter???? over all its nice for star wars fans and colour/action references...my real vote is 2 1/2 but there is no option for that so i chose a 3.

The Funny Truth About Alaskans 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is full of very funny stories about Alaska and the people who live there. This is the kind of book that you can just pick up flip to any page and read something that will make you laugh. This is a must buy book for anyone who is interested in the lighter side of life. Anyone who reads this will laugh, you don't have to live in Alaska to get the jokes. This book is for everyone.

Although several of the jokes were hilarious many were gross or tasteless or both. I thought it was a creative idea and would be interested to know how many people wrote and told him they think they contributed to the book!

I keep this book at work. It lightens the mood on a stressful day. One of my customers and I trade jokes and this is my secret source. I also like the anecdotes that appear throughout the book, I think they are hilarious. I totally buy the premise of this book.

So good I had to re-order it when it was lost... 5 out of 5 stars.

I've purchaed any number of joke books over the years and the expectation is that you'll find one or two stories that you can actually add to your repotoire. Sadly, this collection of dated material is so bad that if it's what I was hearing on a daily basis, I would have jumped to the unemployment line or at least feined hearing loss. Not only is the material old, it's old material that's not very funny. I'm surprised this one found a publisher. It makes me think I should start compiling my own collection of stories, perhaps this books only redeeming value.

The Ginormous Book of Dirty Jokes is not Ginormous and in fact fits nicely on the toilet next to the air freshiner. I think Ample more aptly describes the size of the book.

Some oldies but goodies and some true gut-busters make me wish I were more regular.

There are also some humorous doodles sprinkled thru the book that are great when you're too pooped to read.

Laughter is the best medicine so get your daily dose.

A lot of previously unheard jokes. Material is not that "dirty" ... just some stuff that's more appropriate for "adults". Got a lot of good chuckles!

This makes Jack Kerouac seem like a pretentious adolescent. Totally down-to-earth and gut-bustingly funny. I'm a guy, I've done my share of travelling, and chicks on the road is the ultimate amusement. Go Jen Leo! Bring more!

Because I bought another book by this author, I was sent an email about this book. Since it was less than $10 and, as my tag line says "who doesn't like to laugh at lawyer jokes", I decided to buy it. I already own a couple of lawyer joke books and I figured this would mostly just be a rehash of those same jokes. I was pleasantly surprised. At least half, maybe even two thirds, of the jokes I either had never heard before or least never remembered hearing. I also liked the diversity of the material. There were plenty of "what do you get when you cross a lawyer and ..." jokes as well as longer humorous stories. There are a few of the stories that are actually laugh out loud funny. Perhaps my favorite section though is the actual quotes by (mostly) famous people regarding lawyers. Very funny. I would definitely recommend this book. Worth the price.
