I got a cassette tape of the first PHC joke show years ago and just about wore it out from playing it to keep me alert and upbeat on road trips. Now I found this compilation on 4 CDs and I'm laughing more than ever. Sure, there are sophomoric jokes, 3rd grade jokes, puns, groaners and old chestnuts you've heard before, but somehow they all work when presented by Garrison, Roy Blount, Paula Poundstone and the rest. I love it!

This is the best way I know to get through a long road trip laughing. It will also take your mind off your worries, because you have to really pay attention to keep up with the rapid fire delivery style and you can't think about much else at the same time. This has become a classic in our home, and a great gift for everyone who says, "I have to have that for myself!"

The four CDs in this collection are great entertainment, albeit a bit ribald, from Garrison Keilor's NPR radio shows. I've bought several copies for friends and even sent a couple of copies to our troops in the mid-east. My son says it helped boost morale when he was there. Avoid it if you're easily offended, but great fun for the rest of us.

Jokes with a purpose and a lack of meanness 4 out of 5 stars.

In an age where humor is often laced with profanity or based on the ridicule of others, it is very pleasant to find a collection that is largely clean and often cerebral. This book contains a recollection of Isaac Asimov's favorite jokes along with instructions on how to deliver them. While Asimov is well-known as a prolific author, he was also a very funny man, possessing a sense of comedic timing that helped him earn hefty fees as a speaker.
While the jokes are good, it is clear that many of them would have to be delivered in the right manner to be funny. As you read Asimov's commentary, it is not difficult to imagine someone telling the story to maximum effect. Therefore, the book could also be used as a source for material as well as a primer on how to deliver an ice-breaking joke at the start of a public speech.
Isaac Asimov was a very talented man, capable of writing well about anything. His sense of humor was highly developed, something that is obvious from this book. I enjoyed it immensely and have occasionally used some of the jokes in my classes

This book is quite funny and can be revisited whenever you need a reminder about what is important in life, I had a good chuckle over the P.Diddy comment.

This book is great...it has everything from tying knots, workout regimens, motivational anecdotes, all the way to macrobiotics and sex-enhancing techniques! This is by far the ultimate everything book! I was looking through a copy that one of my friends had and went to both Borders and Barnes & Noble, but they never seem to stock the neat titles I find! I immediately came home and ordered the book on Amazon.com and it came quick, in great shape, great transaction, great book!

A fun, quirky book with little bits of information about everything and anything from information about the use of herbs to accupressure to how to keep children entertained(!).

The illustrations are wonderfully detailed and the how-to pics are somehow instructionally explicit and simple to follow without being cluttered and illegible.

Part comic book, part philosophy, part mystery, and all fun. Don't take it too seriously, but enjoy the ride!

The only reason this book gets four stars instead of the full five is because it is kind of heavy on the typographical errors. They seem noticeable and frequent. Otherwise, this latest installment is awesome!

If you're looking for something unique, different, and just a little crazy I'd most certainly suggest Uncle John's Supremely Satisfying Bathroom Reader. Described as a zany mix of trivia, strange but true stories, hilarious things people just had to and so much more! It's sectioned off into a wide variety of topics and lengths making it a possible reading choice whether you've only got a minute or two or a whole hour (and of course everything in between). Best of all I found all of the different articles equally interesting. Things which I would never even consider reading became personal favorites which I've read again and again. I can say completely honestly that this book actually has something for everyone! Despite the title I found that you can take this book anywhere, which means of course you'll find it evenly "satisfying" on your couch or in bed. Please take the chance to enjoy this fabulous book!

I was riding into San Francisco on BART reading OY! The Ultimate Book of Jewish Jokes and just burst out laughing. The woman next me looked at me strangely and seemed to edge away, so I smiled and explained I was reading the new joke book by David Minkoff. I read her the story that made me laugh (it was one of the naughtier ones so I wo'nt repeat it here) and she started laughing too. We read the book together and laughed all the way into the city. We got along so well that we went to Masa's for dinner together and later she agreed to come home with me. Of course the woman was my wife, so if you thought this book was a dating aid, I can't help you, but if you want the Ultimate in laughs, smiles, and belly laughs, buy this book.

This is a great book to keep in your back-pack at school, in your pants pocket, or your car's glove compartment for whenever you are feeling alone, or the weight of the stone. Working late? Depressed about your low paying job? Getting a bad rap from your parents? Had a fight with your old lady? Mad at the Jews? Getting a bad rap from Blacks? Been double crossed by a Pollack? The handicapped getting you down? Tired of all the homosexuals in your work place? Just pull this little sucker out for a quick glance, and it will bring your spirits back up. This book doesn't discriminate. It's got something for everybody.

Oh, and it's also a great little party favor. Uh, that is... just so long as you know the people at the party. I mean, really KNOW them. I guess what I'm saying is be careful. As funny as it is, this book could very well get you killed. The other volumes even more so than the first.

I like Garfield because he is funny!
Garfield is the only comic strip I read.
I especially like the " Fat Cat 3 Pack"s 'cause there are these little
"Funnies" between the chapters. Reading Garfield comics also exercises
your vocabulary skills. My favorite part of each pack is when Garfield celebrates Christmas.

The book is pretty cute. Its filled with three sentence stories from people who have experienced funny things in life.

It does have a couple of pages with full page funny stories. It's great to read on the subway or in a waiting room.

I was expecting to be rolling on the floor laughing my butt off, but this wasn't the case. Only giggles. Stories I could probably share with a friend, co-worker, even a boss to get a "ha" or a "Smile"

Basically, it's just a book to kill some time, no matter where you left off.
