An excellent how-to book, in plain language, that will help anyone in their struggles to lose weight. Jillian Michaels doesn't talk down to you and she doesn't let you talk down to yourself - she just shows you how to make changes that will change your life. I highly recommend this book because it addresses all 3 components to losing weight - diet, exercise and attitude. Everyone will find something helpful in this book!

You don't need this to cook for your baby 1 out of 5 stars.

If you are new to cooking this may be worthwhile. Otherwise you are wasting your money on "recipes" for pureeing single foods (seriously, she calls those recipes) and poorly researched advice on diet for children. You can easily puree foods on your own for the few months your child is eating them and by the time they are ready for more, you can teach yourself how to modify what you are eating to share with them. This book perpetuates the fear about feeding our own children, that somehow we have to have another person's advice to feel confident about our choices. Any child reference book, like Dr. Sears baby's book, will have a basic list of foods to avoid and that's all you really need.

Heart Disease Is Strong Motivation 5 out of 5 stars.

I had my first heart attack at 43. One stent was placed in my LAD. I had a second heart attack last year at 48, two more stents. I was very lucky, yet again. I thought I was being good on my nutriton and exercise plan. It was not enough. Dr Esselstyn helps to explain why in this book. He gets right to the point and tells you why you need to follow his plan if you have heart disease. Some of the reviewers complain that the book is half recipies. I don't understand this at all. You will need them to make the transition to this lifestyle.

Is this plan difficult to stick with? Yes, at first, then you start to feel normal again and full of life. You feel the best you have felt in years! Your weight normalizes and your cholesterol drops like a rock. You become heart attack proof and you believe it. It's a much better feeling than the bloat not to mention the guilt after a big steak. No contest! I never want to lay on that operating table again thinking about what my family will do without me. Trust me, it's a very bad feeling.
I have taken back control, and now, you can too. Follow this plan to the letter and it will work for you too.

My 19 year old daughter was diagnosed as gluten intolerant and we started a search for information. I found this book on amazon.com and I was amazed at the fantastic reviews. They are well deserved. My daughter could not put the book down. Most books on the subject are either medical books or nutritional guides. This is an entertaining read which is FULL of useful info such as how to snack at a party. I have spoken with the author Danna Korn and she is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Do not assume a "Dummies" book is too simple. It makes a complicated medical condition simple to understand.
