Wow what a wonderful sounding book. 5 out of 5 stars.

Wow, I had my dad order this book for my little brother and me. Just looking at the cover, it said READ ME. When my father told me that it had come in I was so excited. I read it immediatly. It was wonderful. I especially loved the pictures.

Different is okay 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is way more than the title implies. This book not only comically addresses a daddy's bald head, but also talks about how everyone is different on the outside - but that what matters is what's on the inside.

Editorial Review:

Young Jeremiah never noticed it before, but now he can’t seem to think of anything else: his daddy is missing a lot of hair! In fact, Daddy even says that he has “lost” his hair. But whatever’s lost can be found again, right? Jeremiah’s search leads him all over the house and yard. Not a sign of the missing hair. Luckily, Dad isn’t too upset about it. So maybe it’s not such a big deal to misplace a full head of hair after all?

In coming to terms with his father’s baldness, Jeremiah also ends up embracing diversity.

Reduce internal friction, thats what everyone says..... 2 out of 5 stars.
9 of 17 people found this review helpful.

I have to agree with Victor K. Lin on this one.
I see people going 'oh yah' this is great, quite a few in fact.
Popularity is not an importance when it comes to real information.
I had the chance to read it at the book store, and it had information you could find anywhere. What people often dont tell you is that Bagua has many levels. If it is just elementary knowledge you seek, get this book.
Overview: I thought the book was really great at first, but then when I started skimming for the real information, or deeper information, I didnt find any. Basically the concept that was re-emphasised within the book was when moving or making transition reduce internal friction, or learn how to by practice.

I am sure glad I didn't waste money on it.

If you really want more information on pa kua chang, or bagua zhang, find a teacher or go to china.
Sometimes it is best to go to the roots of ba gua to learn more.
Bagua was created by Dong Hai-chuan and combined internal elements of taijiquan (tai chi), hsing-i, and taoist circle walking.

Do research on these:

Editorial Review:

The Taoist yogic discipline of Ba Gua is an internal form of the ancient art of kung fu--as are the much older t'ai chi and Xing I. Ba Gua is the most arcane and yogic of three sister arts--t'ai chi and Xing I are the others--and is distinguished by serpentine turning and circling momvements and its own internal energy exercises, Ba Gua Qi Gong.

Editorial Review:

Vital Man is the first book to provide a comprehensive overview of natural health care for men entering middle age. Through meticulous research and his own experience as an herbalist and psychotherapist, Stephen Buhner offers practical knowledge to help men navigate the forty-five most common disorders that occur at age forty and above. He presents irrefutable evidence that many of the primary medical conditions from which men suffer can be attributed to abnormal changes in hormone levels caused by environmental pollutants. These pervasive chemicals enter men's bodies and disrupt the natural progression into midlife. They can wreak havoc on a man's health, causing erectile dysfunction, lowered sperm count, prostate disorders, cancer, heart disease, and many other problems.

Vital Man offers hundreds of herbal remedies and healing foods to boost natural testosterone levels and to prevent or reverse disease. Sensitive and provocative, it will assure the successful transition into a vital, healthy middle age for men.

Editorial Review:

A romantic, comedic, and heart-wrenching memoir from a want-to-be-dad turned syndicated blogger

Constance got her period for the tenth month in a row, and I stood in the bathroom having never felt like less of a man in my entire life. 'I think it's time,' I said. 'We should buy an over-the-counter sperm test so I can know it's my fault already.' One trip to the pharmacy, two home-fertility tests, and four days later, I officially had a low sperm count, and our inability to conceive finally attached itself to the word we had avoided uttering in ten months of unsuccessful sex. We were infertile, and it was, indeed, my fault.'

. . . And so Miller and his wife join the ranks of the 6.1 Americans who have issues with infertility.

One of a man's most prized prerogatives is the ability to produce a child. But what happens when that ability is challenged? Twenty-nine-year-old Matthew M.F. Miller came across that dilemma when he and his wife Constance's plans to have a child were thwarted by fertility problems. Miller's solution was not to mope, but to reach out to other 6.1 million couples in America who encounter the same situation. Maybe Baby is a romantic comedy--a book about love, inappropriate moments at the urologist's office, reproductive clinics, survival, and (hopefully one day) triumph--all through the eyes of a man. It is about the intense love and connection that adheres to any flavor of family unit, biological or otherwise.

Maybe Baby is a book that offers women comfort and insight on what their partners are thinking and going through, while encouraging men who are experiencing infertility--whether it is their medical problem or their wives'--with humor, honesty, and practicality.

Breadth, not depth 1 out of 5 stars.
26 of 29 people found this review helpful.

This book covers a wide variety of topics. That's good if you want to know a little bit about just about everything, but I would greatly prefer more expansive coverage of some of the more interesting aspects of sexuality. For example, the book covers "opening lines," sperm banks, infidelity, back pain, pillow talk, and several other less-than-riveting topics while giving short shrift to aphrodisiacs, pheromones, and techniques of increasing sexual pleasure. Besides being maddeningly superficial, some of the information is just plain wrong. For example, the authors mention using wild yams as an aphrodisiac. That's ludicrous. Apparently the authors' knowledge on this matter is not up-to-date, because the old supposition that yams contain a chemical (diosgenin) which can be converted into progesterone in the body has been refuted by countless medical doctors and biochemists. Even if such an endogenous transformation could be effected, progesterone is not a hormone that can increase a man's libido! If I want to hear groundless myths, I can speak with my locker room buddies; when I'm paying for a book, I expect facts instead of a rehash of tired old myths.

The first comprehensive book about sex written entirely for men, Sex: A Man's Guide includes expert advice on more than 130 topics, as well as questions, concerns, and tips from men...for men.

Must Have Book for Assisted Reproduction 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Conceptions & Misconception is truly the "must have" book for any couple faced with assisted reproduction. Whether you are just starting out and wondering if you should see your doctor about your difficulties conceiving or whether you have been at it for a while and have seen your fair share of doctors with little to show for your efforts, this book will offer you insight, information, perspective and most importantly, hope.

Drs. Wisot and Meldrum explain every aspect of the conception process both as it should be in nature as well as the way it often is with assistance from medicine. They provide detailed yet simple explanations of the various medications, procedures and protocols that one may encounter during their treatment. Most importantly, they provide patients with the knowledge necessary for them to be "informed consumers", able to sit down with their doctors and ask the intelligent, relevant and critical questions in order to arrive at the best course of action to meet their situations, needs and expectations. This book will provide you with the information to genuinely be partner in your treatment.

If you are not fortunate enough to live in the California area and be treated by these fine doctors, this is the next best thing!

    Editorial Review:

Fully updated to include the latest scientific advancements, Conceptions and Misconceptions is a guided tour through the complex world of infertility treatments and clinics. Respected fertility specialists provide valuable knowledge to consumers about the proper diagnosis and treatment of infertility problems. They explore basic fertility enhancement methods, alternative treatments, and guide the reader through assisted reproduction techniques. This book helps demystify the "alphabet soup" of assisted reproduction. A new chapter explores alternative infertility treatments, including Chinese medicine, and the authors also provide tips for evaluating infertility programs.

Balanced, reassuring perspective 4 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

West's user-friendly, ten-easy-steps book is actually very meaty. It's not the size of a big city phone book, yet practically every reader will add to his or her knowledge about fertility. It's a new book as of March 2008 which I was happy to see because it's likely to be up-to-date on new findings in the field of baby-making. West includes practical medical information and a helpful emphasis on lifestyle and nutrition, topics I hadn't thought much about in relation to getting pregnant...and not just for women but also for men (my guy read it, too). West knowledgeably addresses both complementary therapies like acupuncture to support fertility as well as more invasive approaches such as in vitro fertilization. West is based in London and so you'll occasionally run across a word of Brit-speak, but this edition was edited for the US market so the web resources and vocabulary are generally American.

    Editorial Review:

Having a baby is one of the biggest life-decisions that a couple can make together. Plan to Get Pregnant tells you what you need to do to maximize your chances of conception, and breaks the process down into 10 manageable steps. It not only talks you though getting pregnant, but it also offers guidance on how to stay pregnant, especially through the, often difficult, first trimester. From how to know when you're both ready to become parents and what to eat for maximum fertility, to embarking on IVF treatment and beyond, this book is a must-read for anyone who wants to start a family.
