This book is full of scientific information on the purity of essential oils and how to tell the difference between adulterated oils and pure therapeutic grade oils. It teaches the use of Young Living essential oils as following the French model of usage being that of ingestion, topical application and inhalation. Very safe guidelines for safe usage are well detailed so that anyone can teach themselves how to use them. This book covers subjects such as single oil data, oil blends, dietary supplements containing pure essential oils, the health benefits of Ningxia Red wolfberry juice, cleansing the body, hormonal balance, Raindrop massage technique, and there is a comprehensive section from A to Z on almost every health problem and how to use Young Living essential oils to help with these.

It is well written and claims are backed by research studies. I do not believe it would be wise to apply the information in this book to the use of oils other than Young Living's essential oils for reasons which will become obvious when studying the opening chapters about the importance of purity. This book should be used by all those who want nothing but the best information on how to use pure essential oils for complete health of mind and body.

This book wasn't what I expected. I wanted homemade cleaning supply recipes made with essential oils along with some of the recipes listed. The book is written in a way that is harder to understand than I expected as well. I wish I would have gotten another one.

This book contains a pretty thorough coverage of aromatherapy. It is a great reference source on the market. Don't waste your money on other books claiming to have more formulas or being "more fun to read". Keep it simple and complete with this one!

While Failor's book has some very detailed instructions, she makes the process of hand crafted liquid soap more difficult than it needs to be.

I am pleased I purchased this book of Catherine Failor's. It does an decent job of explaining the liquid soap making process. There is a lot of valuable information. However, for someone making liquid soap for the first time, it is my opinion there is a lot of incomplete and/or unclear information. If you want to make liquid soap, this is a must for your technical library, but it is not the only book you will need.

I was sooo excited when I got this book. But quickly discovered, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I found it very confusing. It might be easier to understand if you have a degree in chemistry. I think there are much better books out there that are much much easier to understand

I have been using essential oils for several years, making my own skin care products, and sharing products with friends. I live in a small town and we all shop from the internet or drive 3 hours to Vegas to get what we need in the home. We were spending a lot of money on personal care items so I decided to get more informed on making my own lotions and fragrances. Colleen Dodt's book is a must have in my library! I would love to meet her as her personality jumps right out of this book. There are so many things to learn from this book. For those novice and experienced users of essential oils, this book is a wealth of information. It is fun to read and has not made it to the bookshelf yet!! Thank you,Colleen, you did a great job!!! I liked this book because it explained in detail, the proper use of ingredients. It gives easy to use formulas as well as giving explanations of why certain ingredients were used and substitutions of ingredients to get the results you desire. Some reviewers said the products were difficult to find, but with a simple web search, I found Glory Bees Food to be an excellent source. This book is a great start if you want to start a business. It helps you to understand the process of formulation. Thus far, this is my favorite book on the subject.

I really loved this book the only draw back is that most things you made have to go in the refrigerator,
I would really like someone to come out with receipes that are marketable and preserved with things like essential oils instead of just having to put everything in the frig.
#1 My kids might think it is food and try it.
#2 I don't think the next time you go to use it cold stuff on your face is not what you are after for your skin to asborb ingredients it needs to be warm not cold.
#3 It is alittle confusing. I couldn't figure out what they meant by a certain type of oil. This book is defintely not for the beginner and it is not easily readable for making receipes.
#4 It would have been better had they made the book like a receipe book with the spiral binding so when you are trying to make the receipe the book is easy to keep open.
I would like to see more research done on the foods on your skin verses the other products people are using. People need to see real results that have been tested and tried and then documented. Maybe a college could do this for someone??? I know that if people are not careful they could transfer bacteria to their skin if they left the product in the frig to long and keep using it. Yes I know just like food but if they aren't aware of the dangers it could have adverse side effects.

I wanted to think of a clever title but it escapes me. This book has been with me through the following years of age
16- menstrual cramps
24- pregnancy and childbirth
35- obesity and weight loss
49- menopause and the ever present private summers
55- aging gracefully
There is not an ailment or malady known to man that the Creator does not have a cure for! This is a good herb book albiet a little dated as one person commmented

I was looking for a book with more in depth information on the use of essential oils and more recipes, but this is more of a basic guide to general information on oils. It does have a nice section on the background of some of the popular oils and where they come from, but unless you are very new to essential oils, i'd go with a more comprehensive guide. This book did not fulfill my expectations.

Raindrop Technique and No Pain 5 out of 5 stars.

I recently went to a training on the Raindrop Technique given by a Certified Doctor of Chiopratic. My coach for the session is a renowned author on Essential Oils with over 200 published works and "real" credentials. So the negative comments by one of the posters is quite without doing their research on the background of how these oils are harvested, distilled, and manufactured. I'm not a "devotee" to Gary Young, so I am speaking unbiased in my comments!

During my session I did have a burning senstation on my upper back, but this is not an "allergic" reaction! And to calm this all one needs to do is add some carrier oil before proceeding. Some people with fair skin may tend to be more sensitive and all the person giving the session must do is pay attention and have had proper training to begin with.

When I came to this class my low back hurt, my upper back hurt, my knees hurt and I had a headache. I did not notice too much of a change that day other than some sensations taking place in my body. But the next day...it was probably 3 hours after waking up I noticed NO PAIN anywhere. It was the first time in years I did not wake up with some form of pain somewhere in my body. Wow...I could not believe it! You do NOT have to dilute the oils down! If the client has very sensitive skin, yes, it may be a very wise idea, but with over 150 participants in this technique class, not one person complained! Hmmm...that says a great deal. These oils are powerful. There may be other oils out there that also take pride in they manufaturing process, but I will stay with a company that has been in business for over 10 years and knows what they are doing and deliver oils that work. Essential Oils properly developed are remarkable Biblical Healing Oils. Unfortunately for this country the good ole USA...it has been severely tainted by governmental control and I have not heard of anyone losing their life using essential oils, but I persoanally know quite a few that died due to MEDICATION that is by the way FDA approved! And thank God I have the training and knowledge I do or my husband would have been one of these sad statistics when I took him off a medication he has side effects from while his doctor said it was not from the medication! And boy...don't get me started on this one. I respect doctors, but I respect God's natural alternative 10,000 time more!

This book is GREAT! It goes into detail on each essential oil (i.e. origin, scent, flavor, use, warnings, description etc.) This book also goes into detail about various conditions of the body & skin and how the essential oil can remedy or help these situations (i.e. earache, headache, cold, flu, cough, acne, depression, anxiety, PMS, menopause etc.) It has A LOT of information contained in this book. This is definitely not the book you can sit down and read in one day. Very informative- A Must have for anyone interested in essential oils and aromatherapy.
