Like a lot of people, I am gradually coming to the realization that what I put into my body affects the way my mind and body are able to function. Not all food is created equal and counting calories or carbs does very little good if I'm not giving my body the nutrition it needs. Slowly, I am learning that my body, mind, and spirit prefer whole foods to fast food and empty calories.

Rainbow Green Live- Food Cuisine introduces the concept of live-food. This plan is strictly vegan and promotes the usage of fresh raw foods whenever possible. For most people, these recipes will be a radical change from what they eat at present. Nonetheless, they will provide a place to start.

I had a few personal challenges while trying these recipes. A large portion of the foods contained coconut, which I am allergic to, so I had to make some adjustments. Moreover, many of the dishes contained ingredients that were unavailable in my area, so I again had to make substitutions.

If you want to use Crystals for healing, and can only get one book -- this is it. Simple, straight-forward, easy to use, gets to the point quickly, and has instructions that don't take a month to read and still longer (much) to feel competent to use. It's a little book that takes you straight to what you want to know. That's all most of us have time for these daze. I have a huge book I can recommend, with all the info you could want, with pictures -- and wonderful as it is, takes ages to mull thru unless you do a workbook on your own with headings for each disorder. This is that workbook -- and more.

If you have ever wondered how emotions affect the body, then "Your Body Speaks Your Mind" is an excellent place to start. Not only will you be able to understand your symptoms, you will also know how to eradicate them. This book contains many answers, especially to the following questions:

How do neuropeptides carry information from the mind to the body?
Do all diseases have their origin in the mind?
How do unresolved emotions affect your health?
Why are certain feelings linked to specific body parts?
What are the specific steps you can take to heal the body with your mind?

Deb Shapiro makes an interesting connection between love and health. She also shows how creative visualization and writing in a journal can help to take away symptoms of illness. By giving up negative emotions you can literally heal the body from the inside out. This book then becomes most useful as you make the connections and start the healing process.

Some of the topics in this book include: Insomnia, Addiction, Nervous Breakdowns, Depression, Anxiety, Skin Conditions, Infertility, Menopause, The Digestive System, Eating Disorders and Heart Issues.

Not science fiction, but a scientific fact! This book is the first common sense scientific explanation of the aging process and "how to" reverse it. The nutrients that we deliver to our cells burn with oxygen and become acidic wastes after giving energy to our body. The body tries its best to get rid of these acidic wastes through urine and perspiration. Unfortunately, our lifestyle, diet and environment prevent our body to get rid of all the wastes that it generates. Gradually, these leftover acidic wastes accumulate somewhere within our body. Since acid coagulates blood, the blood circulation near the waste areas becomes poor, causing all kinds of degenerative diseases to develop. The author defines the aging process as the accumulation of non-disposed acidic wastes within the body. According to this theory, the reduction of accumulated wastes is re verse aging. This book explains how some of the adult degenerative diseases are caused by too much acidic wastes, and describes the various scientific devices and methods to reduce these wastes without any harmful side effects. Great view of connective tissue as a physical structure 4 out of 5 stars.

Before I read this book I had never really considered the functioning of connective tissue as a "web-like" structure within which bone and muscle articulate. The authors contend, starting with embrionic anatomy and onward, that the c.t. forms a bed within which cells differentiate. From this view point of c.t. being a primary base for physical form, we are shown how all parts of the web are connected, and create "bands" that ideally are nether too tight or too loose. I didn't know much about Rolfing either, but apparently this bodywork deals specificly with c.t. Good book, great publishing company.

Joshua Rosenthal's book "Integrative Nutrition" is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to explore and discover the truth about giant food corporations and pharmaceutical companies and how they affect the American diet; the strengths and weaknesses of the popular diets in the market; the reasons why we should listen to our body when we crave for certain foods, the Mind Body Spirit connection, healthy recipes and much, much more. Great pictures,layout etc. A must have Nutrition Resource Book :-)
