This is by far the best meditation CD I have ever listened to. There are three meditations on it. Sonia begins the first with a very short "bio", and then immediately gets to it. There is no other "talk" on it. Other tapes force me to wait until the explanation is complete before "getting down to it". This CD gets right to it and keeps me there. It is very gentle and affirming. I feel so nurtured and relaxed after it. Sonia's voice is a pleasure to listen to, and her inflexions make me think she's in the room with me. I love it and am very grateful for it.

I recommend Shakti Gawains Creative Visulization Meditation CD. It's
certainly not the best one out there, but is good for beginners. This 60 minute CD is much better then the original book on tape she did years ago. On that tape, she read very fast, she sounded unenthusiastic, the meditations were rushed, so I couldn't get much out of it.

Here, she reads slow and her voice is calm and relaxing. The added music is pretty good, however I would have wanted a little more time spent with her guidance through the creative visualizations.

I was looking for a creative visualization meditation program that I could listen to in the mornings when I woke up. There are several short meditations on this CD that are perfect for that and don't take much time. What I also like is the 30-minute relaxation & goal visualization session that I can listen to at night before bed. I regularly have this CD is my car when I need to relax or motivate myself with positive thoughts. The CD is 60 minutes long, but you can easily listen to it in short pieces if you don't have an hour to spare.

This little book makes me happy just by seeing it. It is a joyful reminder, gentle way to practice being mindful while moving. harder than it sounds or looks and worth the practice.

Yes, in this book the author Stephen Levine shows us how to live each moment like our last-- and no it's not depressing...Stephen really lived like this for a year so it's fascinating to see his take on this philosophy. I often use this in making a major decision-- if this was my last year would I? And even in minor decisions that are bothering me -- should I do this today? I love the titles of his chapters including "ALTARING YOUR LIFE"...plus he offers meditations and a year-long plan... I did not get into that stuff-- which some people may feel is too new age...but I did enjoy the philosophy of this book...I keep it on my bookshelf in a special place for days that are really tough or nights that seem like they will never end :))

I highly recommend this audio tape to people who are trying to incorporate meditation into their lives. Dr. Borysenko has a very soothing voice and the exercises are effective. I think this tape may be especially appealing to women; there is some content that I know some men may find corny. However, I found the both the breathing exercises and the stretching to be relaxing and very beneficial.

This tape has helped me relax on many, many occasions. I have almost worn out my tape. Joan's voice and the music are exceptionally soothing. You don't even have to pay attention to it, in order to get benefit from the tape. I just wish it came in CD.

I couldn't imagine what to expect from this CD. I popped it in the player and out came a soft friendly voice telling me what I deserve out of life. It was great to hear that I deserve goodness in life and deserve to be loved because Im me. I sure hadn't told myself that before. These and a ton of other affirmations seemed more valid to me since they were coming from an unbiased third party. This started to get my brain going on the right track. Hopefully soon I can regularly implement (think them, say them and believe them) these power thoughts during the day especially if negative mind chatter pops up. I do highly recommend this CD. Each time after listening to it I feel so uplifted, positive, peace of mind, and relaxed. Ive started putting it in while doing household chores and while in the car. Like another review states its very soothing and relaxing to listen to....that surprised me. Thanks Louise!

Long-term meditators experience 80 percent less heart disease and 50 percent less cancer than nonmediators, according to a large body of studies. Meditation has been shown to improve sleep and reduce chronic pain. Not all meditation is equally effective, however. Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D., has developed a form of advanced meditation he calls "Medical Meditation," which "more fully addresses every element of our physical and ethereal makeup... a full-service approach." Medical Meditation is an adaptation of kundalini yoga combined with meditation, using specific breathing patterns, posture and movements, mantras, and mental focus.

Different Medical Meditation focus on different physiological benefits for specific conditions, so once you've learned the basics, you can choose a specific Medical Meditation for high blood pressure, to improve digestion, or to strengthen the immune system or the heart, for example.
