Forget the Mystery Method and that other PUA stuff and get back to common sense! 5 out of 5 stars.

About a year ago, I began reading various pick-up artist material, including Neil Strauss' The Game, The Mystery Method by Mystery, and From the Bar to the Bedroom by the editors of AskMen.com. The information in those books was quite useful, but I felt the material that pick-up artists use didn't fit my personality. I tried using that material on a few ladies, and it seemed so unnatural and uncomfortable to me. I successfully creeped out a few of them. I felt like an actor reading from a horrible script. Plus, don't get me started on "the seven hour rule." Sex happens when she wants it to happen. You can't force it on her.

Every guy is different. He must use the strengths in his personality to become successful with women. What I like about this book is that tells you what not to do, what to do, what is going through her mind, and what she expects you to do. All you need to have is a decent personality, and the information in the book will guide you the rest of the way.

The book is nothing more than common sense that guys tend to overlook. The chapters are short and to the point. I read the whole thing in about two hours. By the way, she is hilarious but right, sadly.

If you had a bad role model growing up or your dad taught you absolutely nothing about women, I strongly suggest this book and only this book. It's all you really need. Please, don't buy into the whole PUA thing. The next book you should buy should be on tantric sex.

I first read this book over ten years ago. Recently it has come up in my life again (I just sent this URL to a new "friend" :) ), and I just had to write a review to counter whatever the hell that "one star" is about.

This book changed ME. I've been applying it's principles all these years - not just to romantic relationships, but to family, work, and everybody else. It not only freakin' works, but it will bring more personal joy to you IN GENERAL.

The only regrets in the last ten-plus years has been the times I've forgotten these principles.

They (Gay and Kathleen Hendricks) laid out the core of this book on their website, which I discovered today (when I sent the URL to the...guy..), and it pretty much is the book in a nutshell. Look under "about". www.hendricksinsitute.com. Thank you Gay and Kathleen!

If you're far from the place they're asking you to be, you're not going to get it just from the web page. If you're searching and close, however, you'll get it right away - it's like epiphany after epiphany. In re-reading them, I was surprised at how many of the 7 Principles I have been applying (somewhat imperfectly) to this day.

There are a bunch of exercises in the second half of the book, but that's never been my thing. If you're more of a kinesthetic (experience) learner, though, get the book because the exercises looked pretty good (I guess).

Heavens, I don't know what else to say - except that this book and The Road Less Traveled are the only self-help/psychology books that I didn't think WEREN'T just a smattering of dressed-up common sense, padding, and bull.

In retrospect, I like a couple of other books, too like Bradshaw On: The Family: A New Way of Creating Solid Self-Esteem (I forgot that John Bradshaw wrote the intro to this book - I've known about THAT book for almost TWENTY years). But those are the top two.

I first read this book on sexual purity as an eighth-grader. When I decided to reread it for a college class, I discovered its insights are equally valuable (if not more so!) to a twenty-year-old college student. As Dannah Gresh illustrates seven truths about sexual purity, she also shares personal stories - some celebratory, others shameful - which every adolescent female can relate to, whether she's been in a relationship or not. Gresh covers a lot in under 200 pages: she urges girls to seek healing in a close relationship with God, offers clothing advice, and explores the more-than-skin-deep definition of purity. Although Gresh's target audience appears to be teen girls, I think women in their twenties could benefit from it as well. The text is easy-to-read (always important when an author tackles such difficult subjects) and the message very moving. There are a lot of purity/love/dating books floating around, but this is my all-time favorite because of its practicality, straightforwardness, and thorough treatment of the subject matter.

She does it AGAIN!!! This book is so much fun and filled with anticipation. I purchased Laura's game awhile ago, but this was my first Laura Corn book to try. And with great success it has helped my boyfriend and I, add excitement back into our relationship! The book is broken up in a way that we each have 50 dares to plan for each other each week and 1 at the end to do together. My first dare was no. 56 "My Dirty Valentine," even though this one was marked for a special occasion, I just loved the title and I had to do it. Let me just say, that Laura was able to get me to do something that I never would have thought of on my own and it was so easy. My guy was just floored! In a great way. I highly recommend this book for any couple even if you are not in a little rut.
