This book covers certain concepts and ideas that you have probably been exposed to throughout your life, however the eloquent and exotic stories the author had woven into each chapters make his arguments potent. Even if you do not agree with the methods this book offers, you will still enjoy reading about it. i also recommend for this kind of topic my favorite book I Love You. Now What?: Falling in Love is a Mystery, Keeping It Isn't

Sexy is as sexy does, according to Sari Locker (called "our favorite tantalizing sex writer" by Playboy magazine). But how to feel sexy if you're a virgin, or if you've experienced sexual problems, or have serious body image hang-ups? The Complete Idiot's Guide to Amazing Sex succeeds in not only teaching technique (as well as a book can), but also offers serious advice for boosting your self-esteem. As with other Complete Idiot guides, you'll probably want to turn this one backwards in your bookcase, or at least get a book cover for it. But get past the silly title and you'll find a plethora of facts, tips, and tricks on topics including sexual response, masturbation, foreplay, afterplay, oral sex, fantasy, sex toys, sexual preference, cross-dressing, and "The Big Om": tantric sex.

The margin notes liberally decorating the book are worth a hearty chuckle. The "Sextistics" are particularly fun and eye-opening. Some examples: only 9 percent of people surveyed believe sex appeal is innate; the rest feel it can be acquired!; about 7 percent of women have never climaxed; the majority of male crossdressers are married with children; and, according to the Hite Report, nearly 60 percent of men ages 61 to 75 said their desire for sex remained steady or increased with age, Viagra or no.

Locker, a sex educator and WCBS-TV relationship correspondent, has been a sex educator for more than a decade. That said, she should have placed the facts on contraceptives and sexually transmitted diseases earlier in the book, before the hot and heavy photographs of sexual positions. That gripe aside, Amazing Sex is worth investigating by both sexual neophytes and experienced couples looking to maintain a state of hot monogamy.

People joke that the start of a couple's marriage means the end of their sex life. David Schnarch, a sex therapist praised by Pepper Schwartz, uses epiphany-laden conversations taken directly from his own marriage and the married couples he sees in practice to help readers defy the myth that marriages are necessarily passionless, and instead prove that the longer a couple has been together, the higher the fireworks can fly. It's especially aimed at older couples who, Schnarch says, are self-actualized and therefore better able to handle intimacy than younger partners. "People have difficulty with intimacy because they're supposed to," he says, and goes on in this inspiring book to combine elements of marriage therapy and sex therapy to bring plenty of practical, fresh ideas to the crowd of mostly vapid relationship books. (Note that despite its title, it's for any emotionally committed couple, not just married folks.)

Schnarch says that a man is more likely to let a relationship suffer in order to hold on to his sense of self, while a woman is more apt to let her identity suffer to help strengthen it. Schnarch gives explicit tips on how to alter this pattern, an essential step he calls "differentiation." He also explains why compromise isn't always the best route to take when conflicts arise. The couples profiled here deal with the usual suspects: uneven sexual desire and initiation, battles about oral sex, self-image problems, the "boondoggle" of trust (both of one's self and one's partner), and the specter of divorce. Instead of focusing on each client's weaknesses, Schnarch teaches how to find inner strength and resilience that can be used to reaffirm a relationship and reignite sex. William H. I ordered this book thinking it would help me with the tricky task of preserving a hoard of over-ripe vegetables, recently harvested from my garden.

I imagined reading about the merits of low-temperature pasteurisation, drooling over pictures of crab apple jelly and studying recipes for spiced red cabbage.

To my horror, this book contains none of these delights. It is, in fact, dedicated to the non-reproductive, carnal pleasuring of men.

Am I the only person who was fooled into purchasing this lewd handbook by the opaque title and the misleading cover - which clearly shows a pickle-waving housewife beaming with pride at her culinary success?

It isn't fair to critique a book I haven't read. That being said, the title and the contents offend me right from the start. "SexGod": It doesn't take a genius to observe our current culture and the trashiness that exists--and this "author" will join together in a title what humans have abused with the One who created it (to be enjoyed within the confines of marriage)?

Have some RESPECT for the holy God!! The Jews, out of reverence for God won't even type or write out his name as we do. They will use G-d!

And the name of the chapters: "God Wears Lipstick", "Leather, Whips and Fruit", "Whoopee Forever". No further comment.

Just read the Bible! See our sin, and how a Holy God cannot have fellowship (connection) with sin, and how he provided redemption Rev. 5:9 "with your blood you purchased men for God". Read Revelation and how God has a future in Heaven, perfect, free from sin. Rev 4:8: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty...".

Whoopee forever? Not. Worship God forever, oh yes!

I bought these cards for my girlfriend and I. Not only did they arrive in one day, they are totally awesome. To be fair, my girlfriend and I don't really need these cards to instruct us, for I have learned that we just know how to do all of these positions by instinct, but these cards are great anyway. We use them more as a game where we pick out a card at random and then go for it. The cards are very informative and they do explain the benefit of each position for male and female. Also nice is that the cards are very strong and designed well. I give this product 5 stars. They are good for people who are just learning, people who want to expand on their routine and people who are just looking for a fun way to spice things up. Hey, everyone needs a little something to keep things fresh and exciting... and these cards do the trick. Oh, you gotta get these!

While looking for sheet music, I found the noise very distracting. 2 out of 5 stars.

Dr. Kevin Lehman is a prolific author, who has appeared on a number of well-known television and radio programs. In 'Sheet Music' Dr. Leman spends a fair number of pages on the mechanics of sex, including a few anatomical diagrams. But with 'Sheet Music' I would offer several caveats for Christians to keep in mind about this book:

'Sheet Music' does not reflect an understanding of the primary authority that Scripture is intended to have for believers. Secular perspectives are commonly seen as having equal or even primary authority in comparison to Scripture.

'Sheet Music' fails to present or even assume a full biblical context for Christian life and marriage. The book assumes that Christian marriage is monogamous, but provides little to nothing more in the way of biblical support - even failing to present or make reference to biblical passages would powerfully and dramatically support the author's point! The substantially secular viewpoint reflected in this book includes:

· Recommendations that draw from a secular viewpoint, omitting biblical insights
· Directing Christians specifically to resources outside the local church that have a claim to expertise that lies substantially in secular qualifications, but not spiritual qualifications.

'Sheet Music' falls short of presenting or assuming the full set of biblical passages, such as:

· Biblical passages that contain critical revelations from God, Who created marriage and designed sexual intimacy (including Ephesians 5:21-33; 1 Peter 3:1-7, etc.).
· Biblical passages on the believer's position and condition, identification, walking in the Spirit, recognizing and dealing with the sin nature, and even basic biblical principles on topics like `anxiety' (Philippians 4:6; 1 Peter 5:7).
· The difference between Law and Grace, and the huge difference it makes in all areas of life (sexual intimacy included) and even into eternity (Romans 5; 7:1-6).
· By pointing believers to resources outside of the local church (counseling professionals, sexual therapy clinics, etc.) believers are then setting aside true biblical counsel within the body of Christ, much of the authority and primacy of God's word, and are telling believers to go to resources that are not grace-based, but are charging for their services (contrary to 2 Corinthians 2:17 & chapters 8, 9).
· Believers are directed to the resources of this world (Galatians 6:14; Ephesians 2:1-3) and of the sin nature. With the best of intentions, believers are thereby instructed to walk according to this world's best understanding and in reliance upon the sin nature.

With the understanding that I do not recommend this book overall, here are some of the better quotes from this book:

A couple's sex life is usually a microcosm of the marriage. Every now and then a couple has a great sex life with a poor marriage, but this is the rarity, something you see only every couple of years. Page 10

You need to know that every day a woman internally asks her husband, Do you really love me? Do you really care? Page 10

What warms a woman up is when her husband helps around the house, picks up after himself, helps with the children, makes arrangements for dates, and overall cares for her. If a husband consistently and graciously does this without acting like a martyr, he's going to find, six times out of ten, that his wife is ready and eager to enjoy an active and fulfilling love life. It will be a natural response to a lifestyle of sincere affection. Page 11
