Why Didn't Anyone think of this before? 5 out of 5 stars.

Let's get all the cliches out of the way first. "The Family Jewels" is a gem. It is precise, finely cut to spec and invaluable. In fact, the first time I laid eyes on it, my first thought was, why didn't anyone think of this before?

Hardy Haberman has filled a void in the SM literary canon that not only give tips to the experienced edge player, but to beginners as well. There are also a few chunks of anecdotal scene evidence to add the touch of hard-on reading that any book of this nature needs to keep the entertainment value at a maximum.

You may not be familiar with Mr. Haberman, who considers himself a "Pain Technologist." He specializes in CBT and has an unusual fondness for clips, clamps and clothespins, as well as more exotic SM play. I recommend this book to anyone with even a passing interest in learning about esoteric genital play.

When we hear or see the term CBT we think "torture" and that usually makes us all cross our legs. But Haberman's book is really focused on creating intense or simply pleasureable sensations for male genitals in ways that do not involve intercourse. The book has four main divisions: anatomy, safety (please don't skip over this one), basics & toys of CBT, and finally a collection of nine short stories to demostrate the first three sections. The stories aren't really arousing, they are more instructive. If CBT is something you've thought about but know little about, this is a great place to get information. Read it with your partner and you can figure out what he is interested in.

I was extremely disappointed when I purchased this title. While the book is indeed full of wonderful full-color photographs, the actual information in the book is useful only those who really need an introduction to gay life. Otherwise, the sex portion of this book, especially, has absolutely nothing in it that two teen boys with a tiny spark of imagination couldn't come up with. I would not recommend this book to anyone who has ever had sex before, since you've probably done everything that Ford discusses.

We live in a world obsessed with (and appalled by) sex. Open any magazine--certainly any gay male magazine--and you will find it clogged with sexualized images. But a fundamental, hardcore American puritanism still prevents open, honest, and useful discussions of sexuality. While this is true for heterosexuality, it is even more so for gay men and lesbians. Jack Hart's Gay Sex is a fine, witty, and eminently reasonable guide to being a sexually active gay man in the world today. Like Felice Picano and Charles Silverstein's The New Joy of Gay Sex (a classic in the field), Hart's book is an all-purpose guide to living a sexually energetic and fulfilling life. Gay Sex gives gay men all they need to know, from tips on how to meet men (in bars, on the Net, in the street) to negotiating safe sex (from talking to finding the right condom) to dealing with relationships (be it sex-buddy or monogamous). There are also discussions on the mental-health aspects of masturbation, fantasy, dating, bondage, S/M, recreational drugs, role-playing, and general physical well-being. Hart's writing is clear, concise, and informative; he never overloads the reader with too much scientific information or confusing detail and never adopts a patronizing or moralizing tone. By treating sex as a vital and exhilarating aspect of everyday life, he manages to both introduce these topics to the novice in unthreatening and helpful ways and inform and enlighten those who have been out and about for years. --Michael Bronski

Although the cover does look pretty interesting. The book is very.
You might think:"Ohh great another book to teach me how to get the guys." Well this one is very creative. The writer writes in a very cool and easy tone. Its almost like a conversation.

AMAZING tips and Details of how to get your partner on his toes. Highly recoment for ages 18-30, after that I think the experience catch up.

Ohh, and great Illustrations, Very Clever. A+

Joseph Bean does an outstanding job of explaining, demystifying and clarifying many aspects of BDSM. It is from a gay male perspective and would probably not be of tremendous interest to hets or lesbians, but gay & bi/pansexual bio- & transmen should thoroughly enjoy Bean's work, no matter what their level of involvement in BDSM. He covers a wide variety of topics ranging from leather to bondage, BDSM relationships to finding partners, play parties to tools, etc. Plus Bean focuses on the importanct of the safe, sane & consensual principles. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

After going through the various stretching, pubic conditioning, and sexual endurance excercises described in this book, my boyfriend could not beleive the positions I was able to accomplish! This book is fabulous! This book was the key I needed to unlock my latent sexual powers, and it was also the spark needed to ignite Raul's and my sexual relationship. I came out of the closet only a short time ago, and "The Gay Kama Sutra," with it's soothing and confident tone, gave me the courage I needed to enjoy my lifestyle and its fiery sexuality. Although this book did have a plethera of pleasing positions (my, what an alliteration!), it was a bit lacking in the "Advanced" category. But if you are enticed by positional names such as the "Shanghai Clam" and the "Reverse Butterfly," I strongly encourage you to purchase this book.
