Nativity Designs & Journal Put the Spirit Back into Christmas 5 out of 5 stars.

Rachel Brown's book, Adoration Quilts: Applique Nativity Projects, is much more than a how to book for Christmas quilts. While the illustrations and directions in this book clearly teach the reader how to construct attractive Christmas quilts, there is a story here. Ms. Brown takes you on a Biblical and personal journey with each quilt block. She puts the spiritual element back into Christmas by sharing her family traditions. After reading the role each block plays in telling the story of Jesus's birth, I felt better prepared to tell the story,creating my own nativity quilt.

I recommend this book to people who like quilting , applique work ,and Christmas stories.

Cozy Country Christmas is the latest in a long line of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. As a collector, I've come to appreciate the friendly tone of these cookbooks, and the fun (and easy to make) recipes. Cozy Country Christmas was delightful... I really got in the mood for the holidays after reading this one.

My only concern/minor dislike was that there were 48 pages of memories in the first section, and while I enjoyed reading them, I don't think they have much re-read value.

Overall, an excellent book by the fun folks at Gooseberry Patch. When will the next one be out?

Christmas is almost everyone's favorite time of the year. It certainly is mine. There are so many traditions assoicated with Christmas that most of us do not know where these traditions originated. This book tells us the origin of many of these.

St. Nicholas was actually a fourth century pastor who had a great love for children. He desired to make their lives better. This is where the tradition of Santa Claus began.

The book also includes some favorite recipes and the history behind some of our Christmas carols. I found all of this information to be quite interesing.

Animatronics: Guide to Holiday displays 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is very informative. Anyone not familiar with the mechanics of animatronics, can learn a lot from the information compiled inside. This was well worth the investment.

The author gives you lots of information but mostly from a mathematical perspective. He clearly enjoys the math - I do not.

He focuses a lot on electrical motors and I was more interested in pneumatic controls. I was looking for some real world prop designs that I could implement. Instead what I got was a LOT of mathematical equations - most of which the average prop designer is never going to use.

The handbooks from [...] are much more useful in my opinion.

First of all, if you are looking for specific plans (ie. diagrams, blueprints, supply list, detailed photos of finished prop) then you might be disappointed with this book.
The purpose of this book is to give you the basic knowledge (some math required) to create any mechanical prop that YOU envision. The author tells you how to make things move their arms, or jump up, or spin around, etc. Then, you decide what that thing should be made of (wood, metal or PVC), how big the thing should be, what the thing should do and what the thing should look like. The author also deals with both electric and pnuematic motors and types of sensors so you don't have to hide in the bushes and trigger your props.
My only complaint is that the author doesn't give you any hints on how to cover your mechanical skeleton. The author leaves the creative part totally up to you but a few basic pointers would have been helpful.

I teach cardmaking classes and received this book as a gift from my students. I LOVE it! This large volume of 480 pages is like four books in one. It is full of wonderful projects and techniques. The authors cover many different methods and styles to help you make truly unique creations - from beginner to advanced. Includes four "book sections": Greeting Cards for Every Occasion by Mary Jo McGraw, Vintage Greeting Cards with Mary Jo McGraw, Creative Correspondence by Michael & Judy Jacobs, and Stenciling and Embossing Greeting Cards by Judith Barker. Highly recommended.

What a fun and original book!
The ideas are great and it was not at all what I expected by the title. There are really creative and original ideas for everyday celebration and fun. This book is really creative and you can branch off to your own ideas. You will use this book often so keep it close at hand! :)

I use this book for every birthday party I throw. I take their ideas and adapt them to fit my parties. So far all my parties have been a huge success and are often referred to as the parties you don't want to miss!

I love this book. I borrowed this book from a friend and did not want to give it back--so I had to buy my own. I used the barnyard bash and everyone there thought I was so creative. I am very limited in time, being a working mom, and I pulled this party off the night before. Great book, creative ideas, highly motivational pictures. Great book altogether--backyard parties are now new and different!!

This book is great.There are lots of fun theme party ideas
for kids of all ages. There is a nice selection of recipes from
"junk food " to healthier selections that are still appealing to kids. I hosted the tea party for my 3 year old,s birthday .It went smoothly and was loads of fun!
