Thank you Meryl!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

Your book has saved my professional and personal self-confidence with communicating. Usually my conversations and correspondence were long, drawn out, and the other person would get lost in "words." My tendencies were to get the "last word" in a conversation, sometimes with a little barb, thinking I was leaving a lasting impression. Wrong... Your book is a ready reference for phrases that are specific and short, but quick and to the point. Thank you for your saying: say what you mean, mean what you say, without being mean when you say it. That one phrase sums it up!

Editorial Review:

True or False?
Most PowerPoint presentations are:
compelling illuminating informative clear and to the point
Answer: False
Make a change following the principles of Stephen Kosslyn:
a world authority on the visual brain a clear and engaging writer
Making PowerPoint presentations that are clear, compelling, memorable, and even enjoyable is not an obscure art. In this book, Stephen Kosslyn, a renowned cognitive neuroscientist, presents eight simple principles for constructing a presentation that takes advantage of the information modern science has discovered about perception, memory, and cognition. Using hundreds of images and sample slides, he shows the common mistakes many people make and the simple ways to fix them. For example, never use underlining to emphasize a word--the line will cut off the bottom of letters that have descending lines (such as p and g), which interferes with the brain's ability to recognize text. Other tips include why you should state your conclusion at the beginning of a presentation, when to use a line graph versus a bar graph, and how to use color correctly. By following Kosslyn's principles, anyone will be able to produce a presentation that works!

Very helpful for MLM recruits 5 out of 5 stars.

Getting potential MLM business recruits to read this book can make the difference between closing the sale and not closing the sale. It boils down what is years of the authors MLM experience into simple to understand examples. We used the book as one of the key tools to build a successful health and wellness MLM business. Highly recommended.

Editorial Review:

This is the classic MLM how-to: the one that started it all and is still a best-seller, for much of what Mr. Failla has to say is timeless. Don Failla is famous for such "household word" phrases as "Own Your Life: Ask Me How," "sizzle sessions" and much, much more. The famous "Ten Napkin Presentations" form the core of this book. Learn how to present simple, impossible-to-forget images that explain the basics of MLM. It doesn't get any clearer or more concise than Failla's classic.

Editorial Review:

"Microsoft Office InfoPath represents a revolutionary leap in XML technologies and a new paradigm for gathering business-critical information. I am delighted that Scott Roberts and Hagen Green, two distinguished members of the InfoPath product team, decided to share their experience in this book."

--From the Foreword by Jean Paoli, cocreator of XML 1.0 and Microsoft Office InfoPath

Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 offers breakthrough tools for gathering, managing, and integrating business-critical information, and creating efficient forms-driven processes. Two longtime members of Microsoft's InfoPath product team have written the first comprehensive, hands-on guide to building successful XML-based solutions with InfoPath 2007.

Delivers as advertised... 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Far too often I have picked up a self-help book and either set it down unread because it was pure drudgery - - or I read it to conclusion to learn that it failed to deliver the self-help mechanics that I was looking for. This book delivered. It was a quick and entertaining read and provided straightforward techniques for dealing with tough questions in a debate, a business presentation or public Q&A. Author uses many political debate anecdotes yet they are all powerful in illustrating his concepts. I was left with an excellent understanding of his recommended mechanics in dealing with tough questions. I felt that the book delivered. The chapters included:

1) The Critical Dynamics of Q&A
2) Effective Management Implemented
3) You're Not Listening
4) Active Listening (Concentration)
5) Re-Take the Floor (Self-Defense)
6) Provide the Answer (Balance)
7) Topspin in Action (Agility)
8) Preparation (Discipline)
9) The Art of War (Self-Control; Agility vs. Force)

Editorial Review:
