Wreaths pictured are very unattractive. 1 out of 5 stars.
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

I was very disappointed in the wreaths that the author was going to help me make, because as many as there were (a lot) I found them overloaded with decorations, unbalanced and nothing I would make to give or sell. The step by step "recipes" for each wreath did have some helpful tips for the novice.

Ultimate book on creating beautiful wreaths for your home 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This is a wonderful book! It has been in my collection for several years now and I have used it a countless number of times for inspiration and as a valuable reference guide in creating my own floral designs.

Whether you are a novice or have been making floral crafts for years, this is the ultimate book on creating beautiful wreaths for your home. It outlines everything you need to know to get started: identifying and explaining in detail the different types of tools, supplies and floral materials commonly used in floral crafting, as well as providing step-by-step instructions for basic floral techniques and bow making. Once you get a feel for the basics, there are 94 beautifully illustrated projects to create or to be inspired by, including some neat alternatives to the basic wreath. I highly recommend this book.

It is a heavy book and the pages are full of pictures and illustrations. I would recommend this book to anybody who wants to start making your own wreaths. This book will educate and enlighten you.

use our imaginations and be creative! The detailed instructions make it easy- even for beginners- to make very polished and
professional looking projects!!! I have read alot of "how to"

YOU WILL LOVE,LOVE, LOVE IT !!!!!

Editorial Review:

These wonderful wreaths go far beyond Christmas decorations. Crafted from pinecones, seashells, autumn leaves, berries, pumpkins, and even styrofoam, they add a beautiful touch to any room all year long. They’re easy to make, too, especially with instructions that carefully outline the basic supplies and show how to make an attractive bow, wire items to the wreath, work with dried materials, enhance pre-made wreaths, and much more. Fashion a lovely seasonal wreath from spring pussy willows and forsythia. Just for fun, use recycled toys on a wreath or “wreath around the clock.” Wish someone a happy birthday with a wreath adorned with party horns, sweets and bright ribbon. One “seedy” wreath is for the birds. They’re all creative, unique, and fun to make.

200 Wreaths by Very Talented Wreath Makers 5 out of 5 stars.
11 of 12 people found this review helpful.

What kind of wreath do you want to make?

Oh, you want to make a square wreath? Oh, you want to make three wreaths entwined together?

What! you want to make a vine wreath with each vine a different color?

No problem. How to make these wreaths and 197 more are in this book. The Complete Book of Wreaths is really a compendium of the wreaths of many different wreath makers. Most of these wreath makers have had other books published. It is great to find all of their talents pooled in this one work.

The first 40 pages of this book are devoted to wreath making basics. These are concise instructions on how choose or even make your own wreath base as well as basic points for choosing materials to complement your wreath, like seed pods and ribbons.

The next 180 pages are a wreath a page in full color with descriptions for each one that explain what is in the wreath and how to create one like it.

The last section is on Novel wreaths like all feathers and potatoes and moss???? And, you won't want to miss Terry Taylor's wreath of broken cups and cup handles.

This book only has wreaths, just wreaths and it is wonderful.

Editorial Review:

“This book contains 200 awe-inspiring wreaths, each with a full-page color photograph and assembly instructions. Celebrate a baby’s birth with a wreath of wooly pampas grass and a toy lamb. You can even celebrate your own special interests with a wreath of feathers or sheet music. In addition to new ideas and inspiration, you’ll discover that wreath making is easy for beginners and experts alike.”—Crafts.

I love this wreath book! The instructions are well written and easy to understand, but the photos - ah - the photos! The photos elegantly, yet simplistically illustrate each and every wreath in the book. The book also adds in variations you could do to some of the wreaths. It's a keeper!

Great book for beginners 5 out of 5 stars.

I have never made wreaths before, so I enjoyed that this book gave great basic tools for starting and explanations of the wreath elements. The book has wonderful ideas and explains clearly how to make each wreath.

Editorial Review:

Wreaths come in many varieties; they certainly need not be limited to Christmastime or to front doors. Handmade Wreaths is filled with fetching projects appropriate to every season and every room. Welcome the spring with a rosebud heart or a swag of pussy willow; usher in the summer with a circle of living herbs or a cloud of artemisia; celebrate the harvest with an array of Indian corn or country wheat; ring in the holidays with a wreath of jingle bells or ivy and pomegranates. The 28 projects are easy and good-looking, all crafted from readily available supplies. Some even pass up plant materials in favor of seashells, buttons, or gingerbread cookies. --Amy Handy

Learn to make your own wreaths from what you grow and find. 5 out of 5 stars.
12 of 12 people found this review helpful.

As the subtitle implies, this is an idea book. The wreaths are beautiful and the instructions simple. The focus is not only on giving guidelines for preparing the flowers and making the wreaths, but on sharing the elements of design necessary for striking out on your own.

Mr. Kollath steers you through preparing your work space and choosing your tools as only someone who has made many wreaths could do. Instructions are given for air drying and silica preservation of flowers. There are also some wreaths made with fresh flowers.

This is a book for those who want to use what they grow and find. There are even instructions on making your own grapevine wreaths, which Mr. Kollath admits is one of his favorite things to do.

There are some pretty unusual ideas in this book, like making a baby's wreath with building blocks, and using small wreaths for package toppers.

Whatever your color scheme or design theme, there is sure to be a gorgeous full color photo of one of Mr. Kollath's wreaths to spur you on.

Editorial Review:

Today wreaths celebrate holidays in all seasons and decorate every room of the house. Beautiful wreaths are expensive to buy but are surprisingly easy to make. With simple instructions, this craft book is sure to inspire readers to try their hands at making gorgeous and imaginative straw, grapevine, wire, and evergreen wreaths for any season of the year. Stunning photos of seventy-five different wreaths with a great assortment of adornment offer good reasons for a family outing in search of wildflowers, vines, and leaves. Other decorations can be found around the house, including ribbons, dried fruit, even the alphabet blocks the kids have outgrown. Kollath also provides practical advice on everything from the most helpful tools to different ways to dry flowers picked from the home garden.

Visually Stunning Wreaths 5 out of 5 stars.
18 of 18 people found this review helpful.

I was elated to peruse this user-friendly guide to making the most imaginative and beautiful creations I've ever seen in print. Each project includes a detailed list of materials and equipment needed and step by step instructions.

The author includes full page color photographs of garlands, wreaths, table centerpieces, citrus fruit rings and other splendid creations, too numerous to mention.

I highly recommend this to anyone interested in creating high-end wreaths for that special occasion.

Editorial Review:

Rich textural contrasts, intense colors, and strong design characterize this gorgeous guide that's filled with fabulous color photos and strikingly original projects, all clearly explained. Many are not necessarily round or even made to hang on the wall: the topiary of gardenias, fruit-and-nasturtium table garland, bridal headpiece, chair-back decoration, and banister garland all take the concept of wreath making to new design heights, lending elegance to very special occasions. For some everyday flair, try a horseshoe of succulents, a citrus fruit ring, or a driftwood frame. "The true craft of wreath making," says this talented floral designer, "is taking whatever is plentiful and inexpensive in nature and fashioning it into an imaginative decoration." --Amy Handy
