Have you ever wanted something that you could never have? This is how Malcom Williams feels about Christian McKinley in I Promise. Malcom is a rich young man who is known by all the ladies as a player, but the one woman he is ready to settle down with only wants to be his friend. When Christian accidentally kisses Malcom's twin brother, Jordan, sparks fly. Not only is their tension between the brothers, but Jordan is sure he is in love with Christian. He is sure that she is in love with him too, but their is something mysterious holding Christian back from him. The story shows what true love really is. "His strong arms provide a sense of security, strength, and love. The word swirled inside her head." My sister recommended I Promise to me as the best romance book she has ever read. I decided to read it and this is a great book that is a pleasure to read because it has such an interesting plot and is written to keep you wondering until the end. If you read this book you won't want to put it down until you've discovered Christian's secret and find out if Jordan can find a place in her heart.

Steele meets steel... 4 out of 5 stars.

Sebastian Steele has to change his lifestyle. Highly stressed from working eighteen hour days, he is ordered by his doctor to take three months off. Timing is everything, a friend, who had a positive impact on Sebastian's life, left him one-fourth ownership in his construction company. The will requires Sebastian spend a minimum of six weeks in Tennessee to help settle company issues.

Jocelyn Mason owns one-half of the company and her sister the other one-fourth.
Sebastian's arrival is met with stern opposition from Jocelyn, who has been running the company for the last eight months, she resents his presence. As confident as she is with where she has taken the company, she is leery of Sebastian; he is a corporate shark who swims with the big fish. Additionally, Jocelyn cannot ignore that he reminds her, more than she wants, she is a woman. When she realizes he plans to stay longer than the six weeks specified in the will, her patience snaps. As the two jockey for control, the boardroom loses some potency.

NIGHT HEAT, the second book in the Forged of Steel series, is fused with the hardness of steel and the sizzling heat that lingers when steel is torched. Again Jackson gives readers strong characters, sassy actions, and sweet tempered loving. There is a secondary story that fits well with the primary characters. Jackson shows how to balance love, lust, and turmoil in an invigorating way. Bring on the next 'steel magnolia' the soil has been properly tilled.

Caroline Singleton is a talented, successful African-American artist who was raised in the lap of luxury in her affluent Chicago neighborhood. On her way to a promising second interview with an integrated marketing firm, she bumps into a man who takes her breath away, both literally and figuratively.

Brian Keenan is an Irish-American former cop from a middle-class background who is shocked by the immediate strong feelings Caroline invokes in him when they first meet. Unbeknownst to either of them, she is interviewing with his firm, a firm in which he is a senior partner.

Caroline is confused and terrified of the immediate strong connection she feels to this total stranger. It is not until after she accepts the job with his firm that she learns who Brian is. Because of impropriety, she refuses to have a relationship with him. She is also unsure because she has never dated anyone who wasn't African-American.

Brian, on the other hand, doesn't agree with her and wants to move full speed ahead with a relationship. He feels the same connection Caroline does and doesn't want to give up so easily on something so rare and beautiful.

Caroline soon encounters a bigger problem than her confusing and terrifying feelings for Brian, however. She is suddenly being stalked and she doesn't know by whom, nor does she know why. (first off, excuse tha way i write, i write how i speak, [young reader]) :) ok, well..i really enjoy mary b's work, and this novel is addicting, because there's drama, and we all know that er'body enjoys readin bout somebody else's drama. :) i mean, it has like a "soap opera" feel almost, a black soap!! just cuz ur taken back n forth thru tha book. but, i would reccomend this novel to anyone who wants to read it, cuz theres a chic in this book thas CRAZY and this guy's mother is nuts too!! so, i say read it, with tha rest of tha line. (this one is tha last episode of this story line)

I MUST SAY THAT BY TIME I GOT TO THIS BOOK. I WAS SO SICK OF READING ABOUT THIS FAMILY. DARIUS IS WHO I WAS SICK OF. I DIDNT LIKE THAT MARY B MORRISON DIDNT GIVE HIS CHARACTER SOME GROWTH. I KNOW HE WAS YOUNG. BUT MAN CAN A GUY BE A IDIOT FOR THIS LONG? YEA I KNOW THEY CAN BUT STILL. OTHER WISE I ENJOYED THE 5 BOOK SERIES OF THIS FAMILY. BUT I MUST BE HONEST IM GLAD ITS OVER. TO MUCH DRAMA. BUT STILL WORTH THE READ.

i like this book read it twice by accident. anyway i liked it and would recommend it, be careful guys you dont know what you got until its gone. you need to be patient.

This book was not as bad as some people make it out to be. Yes, there were a few painful grammatical errors (such as switching from 1rst person to 3rd person). But overall the plot was like any other plot out there. I absolutely loved the ending, which is why this book gets a 3. It is not fairy tale or cliche! It was cool for what it was but it was not all of that.

I've never read anything from this author but I must say GOOD JOB! The book was juicy and kept you on your toes. Trust and believe me when I saw it's worth buying. I read it literally in a day cause I couldn't put it down.

I can say that Wayne has done it again this is a great book and you are going to love. By far this book is my favorite don't get me wrong the other books was just as good. Russell sees Victoria on stage and it is love at first sight he is so taken with her he can't believe his reaction but Tori is just as taken with him when she spot him out in the audience she is just as taken with him. The couple meet after her act and Wayne take the reader on a roller coaster of a ride with them. The SPARKS fly and it is instance attraction between them and it is so HOT they just burn up the pages. Russell is player doesn't have many friends and is missing home along with his brother & sister. He has decided that he is not ready for marriage so he think and Victoria is just getting her career off the ground so she is not looking to settling down either so you would think that this tis the perfect relationship for Russell & Tori. WRONGGGGGG As the relationship develope they both realized that they have fallen in love with each other despite the fact that neither one of them are ready for a serious relationship so they thought. Russell realize that he do want what his brother & sister has and decided to ask Tori to marriage him. Now I can't tell you any more you will have to buy and read the book to find out what her answer will be, and see what other STUMBLING BLOCK this couple will face. smile..................lol Louise
