loving to cook and being a great collector of cook books especially ethnic ones, this is a fabulous journey into mezze, which is an alternate to a huge meal, little bits of tasty treats to please the palate, with a glass of retsina, ozo, or wine, these tasty recipes are delicious, and very simple to prepare, it is a treasure of a book to have in my collection and a wonderful gift for the cook who seems to have it all!

This is a one of a kind textbook in that it covers a wide variety of middle eastern famous dishes. In addition to providing precise instructions on how each dish is made, it does a wonderful job of showing pictures of the finished products. I was surprised by the amount of effort that went to the development of each dish and associated photographs. For the price of one meal, you have hundreds of dishes that can be easily made in the privacy of your home. You can actually impress family and friends with the delicious dishes you can prepare by following the simple instructions given by Mrs. Yako.

After 5 trips to middle east, middle eastern food a favorite of ours (cooking & eating), & a wife thats 1/2 lebanese. We have reconized or eaten less that half the recipes in the book. Of the untried there few that look appealing.

This cookbook is the most authentic Lebanese cookbook my family and I have seen. My father who is from Lebanon and cooks quite often, says that the recipes are just like my grandmother's cooking! They are easy to follow taste perfect every time! After going through a few other cookbooks and being disappointed.. what a joy it was to have found this book! My family and I have prepared many wonderful dishes for family and friends and always look forward to sharing this book with them as we enjoy a wonderful feast!

I have a collection of around 700 cookbooks now so I am pretty picky about buying new ones. I checked this one out at the library thinking I would only find a few recipes I liked but ended up liking about every page! I had to have my own book. The recipes are great and most are easy to follow. For the more adventuresome, there are recipes for yogurt and for cheese. I especially found the bread section inviting. I can almost smell them baking. Lots of marinades, pickling, and grilled items, too. I am really looking forward to using the recipes this summer for BBQ's.
