Love hurts.

While FBI agent Kelly Feinman is recovering from an attack by a serial killer called the "Acid Man," her husband leaves her. Physically and emotionally scarred by the murderer, Kelly feels she will never be the same. She is cut off not only from her husband and child, but also from her fellow FBI agents, who see her as a rogue for going after the Acid Man alone.

Love is hell.

Matt Connor’s love for his girlfriend, Amy, is so intense that he feels he is in heaven when he is with her. When Amy leaves him for another man, Matt is shattered. In agony, he plans a diabolical scheme that first calls for him to disappear from the face of the earth. His revenge will make Amy wish she had never been born.

Love can heal.

Matt’s act of vengeance puts him in charge of Amy's infant son. He discovers a soothing warmth in Jimmy's eyes that makes him wonder if Amy's betrayal truly merited wrecking the child's life. Yet Matt’s heart cannot be made whole until he has won Amy back.

Kelly cannot be made whole until she understands the depth of evil that lurks behind the Acid Man. Ironically, to rid herself and the world of her nemesis, she must seek out Matt Connor, a wanted man she has been ordered to bring to justice.

Editorial Review:

She Was A Good Witch.

Julia is a young woman with extraordinary powers. She has the ability to heal people with her touch. She also knows things that are happening in far-off places when she looks in water that has sunlight shining on it. She comes from a tradition of witches -- good witches. But before Julia's mother died, she warned her daughter never to look in water that had moonlight shining on it.

Unfortunately, almost by accident, Julia does. What she sees is a vision of the future, a scene in which a young man she doesn't know is shot in a hold-up and dies in her arms. Only later, when Julia attends a football game at school, does she meet the young man.

He is her girlfriend's new boyfriend.

Julia immediately falls for the guy, but it is an ill-fated love. He does not belong to her and he is supposed to die. Or does he have to die? Julia doesn't know if her vision of the future is set, or if it can be changed. She doesn't know why the gunman in her vision evokes such hatred in her, and why she feels she must destroy him at all costs. But using the supernatural powers at her command, and risking her own life plus the lives of her friends, Julia will find the answers to all these questions, at a terrible cost.

A Picture of Death 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Herb Trasker was an average 18 year old. He was a photographer. He got assigned to take pictures of the cheerleaders for the school year book. But Herbs friend Sammy really wants him to get nude pictures of the girls in the locker room showers. Herb said ok but he had to do it at a certain time. So of course he did....and when he got back the developed film he was soo shocked. Yes he got some nude pictures of the cheerleaders but he also got pictures revealing things he had never thought he would see. This book is soooo good. I would recomend this to anyone! Once you start reading it you won't want to stop.

Editorial Review:

HE MAY HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED A MURDER.

Herb just wanted to photograph the cheerleaders in the school showers. He planted his camera high in the corner where no one could see it, and rigged it to a special homemade timer. He did that Thursday night, and he hoped that by Friday night he would have an exciting roll of film to develop.

But a girl dies Friday afternoon. On the surface it appears to be nothing more than a tragic car accident. But when Herb finally does collect his roll of film, he develops a picture that shows a shadowy figure sneaking up on the girl who has died -- sneaking up on her with a baseball bat.

It makes Herb wonder if the girl was dead long before the car accident.

But unfortunately for Herb, he doesn't wonder if the murderer knows he took the picture.

A Review by Josh

This is the tale of a young man named Alex. Alex is a normal person until strange things start happening around him after one of his classmates is suspected of brutally murdering his girlfriend. These events build and form into a truly ridiculous climax (for a horror novel).

ýThis book had potential.ý Thatýs what I think when I look back upon reading this book. I honestly believe that this book had a semi-interesting story which could have been made MUCH better, had the author not written it like some kind of comic book. The bookýs just plain corny! It also doesnýt make much sense and is not written in an easily understandable format. For example, the story keeps fairly believable up until it gets close to the end, where there are waterfalls of blood or something like that, gigantic birds swooping at people, and even African exchange students uncovering their secret African Shaman powers (how lame does it get?). It hardly even follows with the summary given on the back cover, which is why I read the stupid thing in the first place, and is usually the reason that anybody ever reads a book. Thatýs false advertising! The only recommendation Iým giving on this book is to not bother with it, itýs just not worth itý.

Read this when I was a kid 5 out of 5 stars.
6 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I am now in my late twenties and I read almost all of Pike's books when I was 12-14 or so. I loved them and they didn't screw me up or teach me bad morals (geez, people, teach your kids the difference between fiction and reality and don't count on horror novels to teach your kids morals. seriously.) Anyway, I am now a functional adult and look back on those books fondly. I recommend them to anyone in their teens.

The first Christopher Pike Book I ever read 5 out of 5 stars.

I read this book when I was 15 which was years ago. I loved it and I was hooked on Christopher Pike books for the duration of my teenage years! Yes, it is listed as a book for young teens, but Pike's stories are gripping and great entertainment at the sametime. I read great works of literature during my high school years, but I liked to read fun books too. At least I was reading. A group of friends, a vacation, young people in love and/or lust,a mystery--it may sound like a formula story but its a formula that works. I've moved on from these teenage thrillers, but every now and then I think back to the books that I stayed up all night reading in my youth, and I remember Weekend, Spellbound, See You Later, Final Friends, Remember Me, etc. I need some summer reading and I just may read the books he's published since I graduated from high school. Maybe I'll start by re-reading Weekend. My 12 year old niece loves his work too. Maybe we can swap books.

Fall Into Darkness is a really good book if you like horror, romance, drama, and a huge twist. The characters are Ann, Sharon, Paul, and Jeff. Jeff is accusing Sharon of pushing Ann off a cliff. Read this book to find out if she is guilty or not.

This is the first Pike book I've ever read. And this book is a must read. I enjoyed it very much. Once you start reading this, you wont be able to put it down. There is a surprise waiting on every page you turn (: The murderer was the last person I thought it would be. This book is very exciting and leaves you wondering. There is a huge twist at the end. The end was okay for me. But I didn't find the end very satisfying. But overall, the book was very good. For any fans of Pike, this is a must read. Hope you enjoy (:

This book was wonderful, and full of surprises! I never would have imagined what really happened in the end. It keeps your attention the whole time and you really want to continue reading it till the end. The book is full of suspense and has a lot of twist to it. It would be well worth your time to read this book, you will find yourself trying to figure out what is going to happen even when your not reading. You can really jump right into this book easily.

Very good! 5 out of 5 stars.

What Lurks in the Heart of Shari? The Shadow Knows 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This was one of the first Christopher Pike books I ever read and it is probably one of his best. The plotline is interesting, the characters are fun to read about, it's everything the back summary promises it to be and more.
First of all, let me say that Pike has a habit of writing about characters who are quite stereotypical. The characters in this book are no exception, though I feel like the stereotypes work better here than they would in other books of his. Shari's view of the world was always somewhat black and white, and, in some ways, it remains that way even after death. I suppose that is the way things are to many teenagers. This book won't enlighten anyone about the complexities of human nature (except in a somewhat cursory way) but it is still quite an interesting read for young teens who are looking for a simple, yet unique, murder mystery that is also quirky and intelligent (well, intelligent compared to many other books of its kind). The concept was somewhat different. I don't really know how original an idea it is but it certainly felt refreshing to a 13 year old me. And then there were the characters. Shari was just bursting with personality and I liked her. Some of the things she said were very witty. She admits that she can be a bit phony, and this makes her seem real in a world that often doesn't feel that way. Maybe this is why I didn't mind the stereotypical characters so much. Sometimes I felt like Shari was mocking the ways in which we can sometimes focus on the things that seem important at the time but really aren't. Anyway, the characters were never boring. They were certainly memorable, in my opinion.
The book also makes its own statement on the after-life and while it may or may not conflict with the reader's own religious views, I have to admit that it's an intriguing look at one of life's greatest mysteries---where we go when we die. Well, it was intriguing to me. I've read/heard of other books that dealt with the afterlife, and I have to say this one had the most interesting perspective, in my opinion. The fact remains that we'll never know exactly what it's like to die until we actually do so, in the meantime, all we can do is question.

Anyway, Remember Me does deal with some mature themes and, for that reason, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone younger than 13.

A great book to start with if you're looking to venture into the world of Christopher Pike. But you don't really have to bother with the rest of the series unless you're interested in the spiritual questions the first one raises and want to read more on that. The other two have weaker storylines. They seem far more into the more complex questions of life and death and, I must admit, much of it went over my head.

Gratuitous Sex is the only saver in this Monster-Mash 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I usually love all of Pike's genius stories but this over-complicated story was just too messy to enjoy.

The first two chapters start off with a bang (quite literally) and I think its just too much too soon. The 3rd chapter launches into a whirlwind of sexual push and pull, which indeed keeps you turning the pages for a few more chapters, but it doesn't take long for the story to lose its heat. Pike has always had a bit of sex in his stories, however this one has much more. When he's done stretching that out as much as he can, the book just starts becoming more and more confusing with a complex story that isn't very easily explained.

I think Pike was trying to stretch out his Sci-Fi wings so-to-speak and possibly added the use of sex to keep you reading. The only reason I personally continued to read it was in hopes that this over-the-top story had some sort of plot twist to make it seem less insane. Alas, that was not the case at all.

Its by far the worst Pike book I've read to date as far as plot goes lol but the steamiest YA book I've encountered. So if you'd like to indulge in something for your lonely nights - I'd highly suggest this. Sci-Fi fans might also enjoy the story.

GREAT MYSTERY FOR ALL THESPIANS TO READ! 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

So I picked up this book only because it was on my shelf, I had nothing better to do, and being the actress that I am, the title caught my eye. I'm so glad it did! This book was really great. I felt that all the charactors seemed real, like I almost new them. (Jeramie reminded me of about every boy that I know and love, and it didn't take me a long time to fall in love with him, but thats another story) I was impressed by Christopher Pike's ability to make the charactors so lifelike. Aside from that, it had great suspence, because at times, you think you know the solution, but Pike proves you wrong. This book has left me with the desire to read more books dealing with murder and mystery in the theater. A MUST READ FOR ALL HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA STUDENTS!

"The stage is set for murder...." 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Eighteen-year-old Melanie Martin is new to Careville, Iowa, and feels out of place at her new high school. All of that changes though when she is encouraged to tryout for a part in the school play (Final Chance) by the director, Susan Trels, and lands one of the leading roles. Part of her reason for joining though was because of Marc Hall, the brooding ex-football player she has a crush on and who seems to like her as well.

At first, everything seems to be working out for Melanie--that is, until opening night when one of the cast members is shot and killed on-stage, and Melanie becomes the prime suspect. For the remaining half of the book, Melanie tries to find out who the real killer is, as well as trying to find a link to an accident that happened almost one year ago involving several of the drama students. Because if she doesn't find out soon, she'll be tried--and more than likely convicted--as an adult for first-degree murder.

As with a lot of the Christopher Pike books I've read, I didn't want to set this book aside for anything, not even for sleep. "Last Act" was very engrossing and complex, and it was hard to guess the villain until close to the end because of the back story with Clyde. Another reason why I liked this book so much was because of Jeramie, the eccentric photographer/actor who mostly spoke in riddles. I absolutely fell in love with him from the beginning; he was just flat-out weird and had a wonderfully dry sense of humor that was rarely acknowledged.

In my opinion, "Last Act" is one Mr. Pike's best books and should definitely be read if you're a Pike fan or into teen mysteries.
