Abby's Road 4 out of 5 stars.

This was a very enjoyable Amazon Short. Michael Prescott crafts a tight story with interesting characters, great discriptions, and good dialog. The bowling alley makes for a great setting that's easily seen in the mind's eye. Prescott's main character in this story is Abby Sinclair, a freelance security consultant first introduced in The Shadow Hunter. I picture Abby as a slightly more ruthless version of Kinsey Millhone, the private investigator from Sue Grafton's Alphabet Mystery series.

Abby is stalking a stalker at a bowling alley, trying to assess the threat level he poses to her client. Taking these jerks down is standard operating procedure for her. How she does it varies as whimsically as an oil painter deciding between burnt umber and raw sienna.

I look forward to taking another trip with Ms. Abby Sinclair.

Editorial Review:

I introduced the character of Abby Sinclair in my novel The Shadow Hunter. Since then, she's costarred with another of my heroines, Tess McCallum, in two books (with a third due out in April '07). Abby is a freelance security consultant who infiltrates the lives of stalkers in order to assess their threat potential; she plays by her own rules, and can be dangerously unpredictable. In “Stalkerama” I wanted to show a different side of Abby than the one I usually highlight. I also thought it would be fun to put her in a bowling alley - probably the last place she would ordinarily be found.
