Are you on the right track? Do you wonder about why you love doing certain things and dislike others? Do you wonder why you react in certain ways? Are you looking for a better way to make right decisions, enjoy peace of mind, and live in harmony with others. This may be the book for you.

"Living Your Strengths" is an extension of "strengths" research begun more than forty years ago by Dr. Donald Clifton of the Gallup Organization. Clifton researched the natural patterns of thought, feeling, and action of two million people in more than 25 countries. The result is the Clifton "StrengthsFinder," a tool that reveals a person's top five themes of talent - one's "Signature Themes."

A "Strength" is the ability to provide consistent, near-perfect performance in a given activity. This ability is a powerful, productive combination of talent, skill, and knowledge. Talents are naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling, or behavior that can be productively applied. Unlike skills and knowledge, talents exist within you and cannot be acquired. We must first need to identify, affirm, and apply our unique mix of talents then apply them.

Clifton's research highlights folly of the widely used "weakness prevention" model - to be successful, we must "fix" our weaknesses. This thinking is wrong. Building a life around one's greatest natural abilities rather than trying to repair weaknesses is the path to success.

The book is organized around the use of the StrengthsFinder (provided with the purchase of the book) to identify, assess and affirm our Signature Themes (talents), and how to apply them for growth and life success. There are thirty four identified talents ranging from achiever, maximizer, ideation, individualization, and significance to woo.

The Signature Themes are unique to the individual. According to Gallup, the chance of finding someone with your Signature Themes, in the same order, is 1 in 33 million and the chance of finding someone with your top ten themes of talent is 1 in 3 trillion. Finding one's themes and understanding their uniqueness should help one to gain a better appreciation of how special they are and how special the people around them are - deeper self-respect, deeper mutual respect.

Most of us generally are not harnessing the power of our innate gifts. We are not fulfilling our purpose...we do not even know it! "Living Your Strengths" provides a tool so we can assess our talents and harness them in the betterment of ourselves, our families, and the various communities we participate in.

Tsultrim Allione was one of the first Western women to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun. In this book, she presents an eleventh-century woman's wisdom to non-Buddhists in simple, easy to understand language that anyone can follow.

According to Tsultrim, we can all overcome whatever demons are causing chaos in our lives, whether they be weight, illness, anger, or whatever. By following her five steps, we can supposedly overcome these problems.

In the first part of the book, we are given an overview of Tultrim's life - her journeys into spiritualism, her marriages and divorces, her children, her tragedies and her triumphs. It is an interesting biography, if somewhat brief. But this book isn't supposed to be a biography - and it's not completely. The next section delineates the five-step program to overcoming whatever ails you. It is clearly written and easily understood.

The third part of the book deals with specific types of demons. Each demon - illness, fear, addiction, abuse, etc. - comes with case studies allowing you to read about people who faced these problems and overcame them. Each one is different, and interesting to read. The last section of the book gives you information on how to deepen your work.

In the grand publishing segment that encompasses self-help books, this is one of the more interesting ones I've read. It is brief, to the point, easy to understand, easy to follow and deals with problems that plague almost all of us. Does it work? I'll have to get back to you on that. But I can't see where there's any harm in trying. If nothing else, you've spent some time meditating and that's always a good thing. If you're into spiritualism, Buddhism, or any of the mediating practices, definitely pick this one up. If you're just into reading about obscure spiritual readers, this would be a good buy.

I HATE to read. Typically it bores me and puts me to sleep. With that said, I somehow ran across this book on-line. I read the Amazon reviews and decided to give it a try. I got the book and in one sitting read half of the book straight through. I was addicted to it! I honestly could not put it down. Even the section on "Raising Military Brats" I read although I do not have any children. My husband has 13 months left of his tour in Iraq and it was somewhat comforting to read about WWI or WWII wives who, in their husband's two year deployment, maybe received one letter, if at all. It made me appreciate what I have, even though what I want is thousands of miles away. I definitely recommend it for any military wife.

Content never gets deeper than what's printed on the dust jacket. 2 out of 5 stars.

The topic of divine grace has been written about for centuries--must it be merited? Can it be revoked? How do you know when you've got it?--and this book happily, carelessly, skips by all of them.

The point of the book is this: "Coincidences" aren't. You can learn from them, too!

There. I've just saved you from reading 256 pages of stories of "miraculous" coincidences. Now then: Where's my book deal?

There is a saying that goes, "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous." I like that saying. This book almost says that but the author admits many times she is uncomfortable with the word "God" but totally cool with using "grace" in the theological, divine sense (and as covered more than cogently by Aquinas et. al.).

The author, Cheryl Richardson, declares herself a life coach. She is not the first to do so, but never clearly explains what this is and how it ties into grace (unless being a life coach means appearing on Oprah and writing New Age-lite books).

I purchased this book to learn a little bit about Soul Retrieval. Well, I learned a TON about it. It was a very interesting book and very easy to read and understand. I am so glad I bought the book!

I studied soul retrieval with Sandra Ingerman and find her to be an excellent teacher. This book is a continuation of her excellence! Ingerman has a down to earth teaching style so that all can understand and her book is written in this style as well.

I have found soul retrieval to be a life changing experience for most people. I love performing soul retrievals as I know that in asking for the soul parts who are ready and willing to come back at this time, that the person and the soul parts are ready to work together. It was my own soul retrieval after the death of my son that helped me to come out of the deep well of grief I was in. And my soul retrieval led me to become a shamanic practitioner and teacher. I have found the language of my heart! This book is a must for all who seek to get well after trauma.

This was one the of first books I read about the the law of attraction, attracting wealth and using your subconscious mind.

Our Subconscious Minds are the Genies and it's up to us to let them out of the bottle and command them.

I learn a great deal about the power of the Subconscious mind from this book. I learned about the Law of Supply; how to get strong desire working for me; the impact of visualizing; the formula for Success, and much much more.

Please read it, you'll be glad you did!
