I got the book but I can't find the strategy guide.

I was expecting maybe a list of new talents and items (and quests that reward them) that would be helpful for a fury warrior, for example. You know, things that would GUIDE me in developing a good STRATEGY.

All I can find is a sort of table of contents for the game. A list of zones, a list of quests, a list of talents, etc. It tells me what's there but not how to use it. It doesn't categorize it in a way that would be useful in developing a good strategy.

This book is absolutely useless. I can't think of any reason why I will ever pick it up again after having reviewed it.

Wait! I just found it! On the cover it says: TAKE YOUR GAME FURTHER. Those are the only strategy-related words I've found. Unfortunately I was already doing that so the book is still useless to me.

I ordered this on the same day I ordered my AC:CF. It's been a huge help. While there is basically not a lot of huge changes in CF from WW, the book shows all the furniture types (and how they look layed out in a room), all the bugs, fish, fossils, gyroids, pictures, clothes etc. It also shows you how to get things like the silver and gold tools, how much you need to donate to get certain items, which visitors give you what, and how to get them, etc.

There is 2 full pages dedicated to each month to show what fish/bugs are available at that time, which holidays there are and even who's birthday it is.

This book is absolutely recommended to the AC:CF players...especially if this is the first time they've played.

Along with my copy of Fallout 3, I purchased this guide to assist in covering all the quests. I wanted to ensure that I didn't miss any quests for the unlocking of the almighty Achievement points for the 360. I was very disappointed.

As with previous reviews, there is quite a bit of information. This is easily one of the biggest strategy guides I've seen. However, Fallout 3 is a massive game. But as the title implies, bigger isn't nearly better. There is pages and pages of information but the organization is horrid.

I strictly use strategy guides if I'm stuck or to ensure I haven't missed anything in an area I've explored. Fallout 3 is not linear, yet the strategy guide is setup that way. Better organization and layout would have ensured a MUCH higher rating. It's solely defeating the purpose of a physical strategy guide when I'm searching online for certain quests, as it's too difficult to find it in this guide.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, he hopes they come out with an electronic database to search. Normally, that'd go above and beyond and would be a fantastic addition, but with this, it's a necessity. Who wants to read for your quest, only to have spoilers revealed about upcoming quests and still haven't found the solution to your initial inquiry.

All that being said, the strategy guide did have it's uses. You know how certain things will play out if you want to know in advance how your decisions will play out. Also, the major boon, at least for me, are the Maps. Fallout 3's in-game map is very small and hard to decipher, but the quest waypoints help. I still found myself referencing the strategy guide solely for the Maps, which were probably worth the price I paid for the guide.

All in all, if you're progressing through the game and want to experience it rather than know precisely what to do, this isn't for you. I would still recommend it on the maps, which seem to be detailed and will provide major assistance during gameplay. It's a shame, because information is abundant, just the organization detracts so heavily.

This book is very informative and helps you greatly with the game. An added bonus is they have game artwork at the back of the book that is very interesting to look at. I felt this book really helped enhance the gaming experience and at such a good price its a must-have for gamers.

Worst Guide I've Bought 2 out of 5 stars.

I've had really good luck buying strategy guides but this one was the worst and an obvious waste of money that I regret.

Pros:
Good details on every single selectable item and lots of good examples of setups for every single stage except one.
There are some hints periodically that I didn't think of till reading this guide.

Cons:
The only stage this book is terrible at is the most in-depth and difficult stage in the game. The Space stage. 80 - 90% of the book is dedicated to the earlier stages but only a sliver is on the hardest/most complex stage.

Overall impression:
[...]. Do a little homework online for any details/hints/walkthroughs you might need and you will be far better off with even more cash in your pocket. Sure there are a couple of hints in there I didn't think of, but not [...] worth of hints and help. Maybe [...] worth. Save your money.

Side venting regarding the game.... I HATE DRM. They are going to DRM Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 as well. What JERKS! I'm the type that uninstalls a game, reinstalls, uninstalls, reinstalls. It's all based on what I feel like at any moment in time and given that I own hundreds of games, it's easy to change my mind for something else. The DRM did NOT affect the 2 stars I gave to the guide. The guide really did deserve 2 stars. The game is worth 4-5 stars but I gave it a 1 because I don't want to be annoyed when I reinstall my own game. Why should I have to justify my life to some stranger just to get another install license?
