I used this book along woth my PMP study guide, and found it very comprehensive and useful. Lot better than Rita's Hot Topics because this one is very self contained and covers more. Unlike Rita's book, It's not tied to a specific study guide. Helped me a lot in passing the exam. However, it's not an alternative to a study guide.
Highly recommended.

PgMP Exam Review: Boot camp Manual (with Exam Simulation CD-ROM)
This is the by far best PgMP exam study / preparation product on the market. I wrote my exam a few days ago and pass. This product truly prepared me well for the exam.

There are many other PgMP exam prep books / products on the market, but none of them are as detailed orientated as this product. I believe this exam kit provides you with a solid foundation and have many great test example questions, which is a good representation of the exam - this is key in passing the PgMP since the majority of the questions are long scenario questions.

One of the biggest problems I found with the other PgMP exam products on the market, and the 4 other exam study books I bought is: firstly, the Authors were not PgMP's when the materials were produced and secondly the exam sample questions were not a true representation of what to expect in the exam.

This product is worth every penny... good luck with the exams

The Best Book for the PMP Practice Exams... 5 out of 5 stars.

Speaking from experience: This is by far the best of all the PMP practice exam books. For obvious reason, beware of the negative reviews that advertize a competitor book, which BTW could be ok for the CAPM exam but not adequate for the PMP exam. This book (PMP Exam Quicklet by Sanghera) presents both scenario-based and simple questions just like the exam does...I agree to another reviewer that from the actual exam's perspective the questions in this book are very realistic...This is as close to the exam as a book can be...I also liked the extra features in the book such as the quick exam prep and exam tips...Not perfect, but best of all the PMP exam books...I recommend it highly...

Good organization, beware of errors 4 out of 5 stars.

I agree with the review by Albert, that there are numerous errors. The coverage mentioned in the title page of every chapter, leaves out some important topics covered within.

I would recommend this book to be read after attending a Instructor-led Training course, reading the PMBOK once, and reading Rita's book. Having such background will help to know the errors immediately.

On the positive side, this book is a good approach to organize the knowledge areas and process in a logical - real life order. The ongoing Kitchen Heaven Store project example provides a welcome break and a real-life manifestation of concepts.

Add to this, the sample exams and end of chapter summaries. I'll rate this 4-star and a good value for the money spent.

I bought this book last year when I started studying for the PMP. Buyer beware that this book is not based on the most recent PMBOK version and some of the information is incorrect. This book is OK for getting an idea of what the test may be like and the information covered, but it should not be used as an authoritative source of information. I even question if the the practice tests can be trusted since I have already found some of the answers to be wrong. At a minimum, get the latest PMBOK as well so you can see where there are differences.

Studying this Crosswind text, I have been consistently surprised at both the cut and paste quality of the edit and the remarkably poor language skills shown throughout. Before inflicting their next effort upon the Project Management public, Messrs Johnson et al might consider some remedial instruction in the construction of the English sentence. Such grammar would not be so bad if it did not confuse the already semantic-laden arguments of the PMI; however, it does, and does so consistently. Finally, I must agree with the set of reviewers that suspect cheating on the part of Crosswind through implantation of glowingly positive reviews. Comparing descriptions with the actual text, clearly the author(s) of such critiques are either the text's authors themselves, or have not actually read the volume.

Project Management Knowledge Areas & Processes is simple, easy to use, and packed with information. I refer to this guide each time I start a new project to make sure I've covered all the major areas and processes in my project schedule. I usually refer to it a couple of times later in my project to be sure I didn't miss anything that I didn't include earlier in the project but now need as my project has changed. I still use many of Jami's guides that I got when I was studying for my PMP exam a few years ago (PMBOK version 2) and am glad to see that she has updated at least one of her guides for the current PMBOK (version 3).
